I created new fields and didn’t updated profile that was the reason of not showing.

Is there any way i can access the data in the fields. I created field named Skill i want to access the data in that field and use in other pages/post.

Thanks, @danbp! You’re right – the code works in a theme’s functions.php, but not in bp-custom.php or in a plugin file. That’s a bit annoying for my project, but definitely glad to have it working!

@danbp, I know how to check for errors, but this didn’t helped me too much :). I solved with the blank page, but no more. Your solution works for hiding some xProfile tabs from viewing, but not from editing them. Am I wrong? Sorry!

@danbp, I applied the patch but the function does not works. If I put your function in the bp-custom.php I have a clean white page (display) as a result.

I tried the next simple function to hide the extended fields group number 2 from editing for all members, but it not working.

I believe the codex itself provides a lot of info for beginners to intermediate BP users, thanks to all the BP codex contributors. I agree with @danbp on a lot of his points. Every individuals needs are totally different and there is really no way to generalize every ones specific needs and that is where the forums come in handy…[Read more]

Hi @danbp, thanks for the link. That isn’t quite what I’m after. It is more to do with limiting the length of what is echo’d to screen where as I’m trying to validate and error handle the data which is captured.
