I think there is already a plugin that does this for WPMU. Haven’t seen it for a while but I think it is available at premium.wpmudev.org
make sure you submit it to http://www.freebuddypressthemes.com

we need more themes!
just saw the post from Andy…
I am running the latest BP trunk and WPMU 2.7 official release and my site isnt in a subdir….
just removed widgets and admin bar and still the same
most links on the site go to the login page
weird!
going to try to change theme to the default…
thanks i’ll look into it!
and make sure you upload it to http://www.freebuddypressthemes.com!
I’d start with the readme document
but everything should be uploaded to mu-plugins and then make sure you put the themes in the correct places. you won’t see anything regarding bp in your plugins, but you will see a buddypress option under “site admin”
you need the core and xprofiles folders to get it running and then install any extras you want
but read the readme!
i went into the database and changed all the “is banned” settings back to 0 and everyone who was part of a group is again…
not sure what was going on there
@nicola i tried to sign up to bpdev but never got a confirmation mail
actually all users with their own blog setup should be “no role for this blog” right? thats what I am seeing the when look at authors and users
Looking at the users in wpadmin and some users’ role is now “no role for this blog” which is ever more confusing…everyone should be a subscriber
I am on the Beta version.
Loking through the emails, I was promoted on all the groups I was a member of at the time but looking at the groups now I am no longer a member.
I have an admin acc and a personal account and both users promoted in certain groups. My girlfriend also has a profile set up and she got the same mails so I am not sure how many users have been promoted but are also no longer members.
Ran a db check and there were a lot of errors all of them “clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly” – not sure what it means but it came up as a “warning”
Looking at the DB tables itself….in “groupmembers” users are still member of groups however they are banned…there is a “1” in the “is banned” field.
I am still lost but I am thinking this is more of a hack than bp issue….thoughts?
i have finished the site now so all we need are some themes!
thanks guys!
@nicolagreco – i’ll send you a mail regarding collaboratinghey nicola when turning on simplepie through the bpdev plugin admin i get the below error on the flickr profile page
Fatal error: Class ‘SimplePie’ not found in /home/ewm/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/bpdev-flickr.php on line 306
any ideas?
@realfam – the log in info on my site – explorewithme.com is easy…drop me an e-mail and i can send you the code if you like…use the contact form on the website…
@ gogoplata – didn’t think of doing it like that but it makes sense! i’ll have a play around, thanks for the suggestion!
@ nicolagreco – im interested to see what you come up with! let me know if you need any help!
i found a facebook status update wp plugin that could be tweaked to fit in with BP…i might plat around with that too…
thanks!
Is there also a way to intergrate this plugin within the blogs also? I currently have a Flickr plugin so users can add it as a sidebar widget to display their photos, but so the user does not have to configure the plufin for their blog and then again for their bp profile is it possible to use the same plugin?
It is only a matter of time!
I have hacked the member theme to suit my site, but it is nothing outragous!
explorewithme.com
what is your site burtadsit?
poke? nudge? wink?
not a bad idea…
+1
i get this problem also
but members, blogs, and groups works fine
news doesnt
any ideas?
i’d try reinstalling everything first…i am not seeing any of these issues on my site so must be something to do with your setup
also check the permissions on the buddypress components
I am wondering the same thing actually!
