Install it on domain.com, assuming you’re not currently using the domain for anythign else.
In reply to: How to Make a Achievements thing? The approach to take in a plugin is to hook into the various WP and BP actions and then reward achievements as and when appropriate. You need to record in the database which achievements have been obtained. And write the administration and user interfaces for BuddyPress as a custom component.
I am myself working on an achievements plugin. I had hoped to release a test version today but I can’t promise that, it’s looking unlikely. But we shall see..
In reply to: WordPress to WordPress MUI believe the WP/WPMU merge isn’t being released until WP 3.0. So yes before Christmas sounds realistic.
Have you tried copying the functions.php from the default theme to your custom theme?
In reply to: Photo, not avatarThe trick would be to use a custom “translation” – this way when you upgrade, you won’t have to manually merge lots of files.
In reply to: Group ‘Fans’Neither are possible out of the box without writing some code; and I think these features are non-trivial to add.
The only interim measure unless you get your hands dirty would be to rename “friends” to “fans” – it’d be only a text change but if by chance you don’t want friends on your network, then it’d work for you.
In reply to: General Settings Change Password BrokenTest with the default home and member themes – does the problem still occur?
In reply to: skeleton / customization of themes ?I sometimes think we shouldn’t bundle the Skeleton theme with the BuddyPress .zip. It confuses some people.
In reply to: A new approach to usernamesI think a lot of the bits get the name through the wp_bp_xprofile_data table.
Hello Baraber
It seems like you are quite new to CSS. I suggest you get a copy of Firefox (if you haven’t already) and also Firebug, then with Firebug, you can make changes to CSS in realtime and see if they work as you want.
p.s. try starting out with
background: #FFF9DF url('myimage'gif') no-repeat fixed bottom leftI’ve just out of bed so am still half-asleep, but it’s something like that.
p.p.s couldn’t see your image, as it required log-in to that forum.
In reply to: Write [p] [br /] simblos in Site Wide ActivityI spoke to apeatling about this on IRC a week or two ago, and he said it was something he was aware of. You could make a ticket on the Trac just in case it is forgotten – use the same username and password for there as you do here.
In reply to: Help! 2nd Full system crash in two days!On my live site, each and every user account has a user_status of 0.
In reply to: Tags in sitewide activity for Forum Topic. You do not need to start another thread about this – you’ve posted in one other. I’m going to close this thread so we keep the discussion in one place.
In reply to: Avatar problem when the same image is downloadedGood spot capturing this guys, and thanks for reporting the bug on Trac glycoknob.
In reply to: Minimum Avatar-SizeWhat about trying to insert a call to that function around line 134 in bp-core-avatars.php? Just above where it has four checks (one of them is ‘File you uploaded is too big’ and ‘Please upload only JPG, GIF or PNG photos’).
In reply to: Bug in Groups page.Hi slavd
Thanks for the post. This bug was fixed in the SVN trunk a while ago, so I’m going to mark this post as resolved. Thank you very much for taking the time to post here!

In reply to: little features requestHello,
And thank you for resurrecting a two month old thread. The + thing isn’t going to get anything done quicker.
How about, if I promise to work on the following, you promise to stop saying +6?

– When we create custom profile field, we don’t have the possibility to up and down the field to order them…
In reply to: statcounter plugin – wp_footer adequate?Original question: yes it’s fine
Certainly the first thing has been mentioned by some people. It’s not possible yet, I’m sure it will be implemented at some point, be patient.
I haven’t seen the latter suggestion before, but I wonder if that’s something more suited for WPMU to implement.
Either way to be sure these suggestions are captured, write them up as an ‘enhancement’ ticket on https://trac.buddypress.org/newticket.
In reply to: User points@Kunal17 – site admins can control which are enabled. They can’t change the points (well you could edit the DB manually…), at least not in the first release. We’ll see how it goes.
@Chris Clayton – yes indeed. There’s very little negative achievements in that list, and about the only one is that friends and the group invites. I thought the group invites one might be fun as already on my BP site, whenever someone makes a group, they just invite everyone to it regardless. Still early days yet I will see how they go when I test them a bit more.
In reply to: User pointsHere’s a PDF draft of the achievements I’d want to get into the first test release – comments welcome.
In reply to: Copy bp themes and customise settingsFirst of all, Member themes MUST be installed to /wp-content/bp-themes/. To select which Member theme your site uses, visit this page on your install: http://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-core.php
In reply to: Group forums not workingAnd try reading burtadsit’s post here.
In reply to: Group forums not workingFlorian, if the test isn’t working, then the group forums ain’t gonna work.
You need to confirm with your host that they support remote procedure calls (and XML-RPC specifically)? It might be that they are not allowing remote calls to be made to the same server.
