In reply to: Prevent users from adding popup scripts
As always: what version of BuddyPress are you running?
In reply to: Photo Plugin ETABefore the 2012 Olympics. Probably.
In reply to: adding new field to groupYou did not need to post two threads for this. That will not make anyone help you quicker.
Plus, how/why are we expected to be able to debug your custom code without even seeing the source?
In reply to: sitewide css affecting other non buddypress themesWell, as you’ve found out, it doesn’t. I’m not sure if this a wpmu feature or not. If you think it should work differently, write up an enhancement ticket and put it on trac.
In reply to: Localisation, per userI believe this should be posted on the wPMU forums, not here.
In reply to: bp_get_field_data no longer workingSomething’s being evaluated as a boolean.
Where exactly are you putting that code? I don’t know how much/any PHP you know I’m afraid, so it’s possible I might be teaching you to suck eggs, but the $user variable might not exist (let alone what type of object it is).
In reply to: directory setupYes, install WPMU with subdirectory type. I’m not sure if on this type of install the blogs go into e.g. /blogs/username, but even if they don’t, this should be a setting we can change.
Set up a test install just to check the default behaviour on a subdirectory-type install
In reply to: My Groups Page has lost layoutYou have obviously customised the theme CSS. If you have not changed the HTML or any of the layout CSS, then..
Try disabling all non-BP addons for a test. I see you are running nextgen-gallery (which I have seen cause problems before when attempted to use with BP), piclens, All in one SEO, etc.
If after disabling all those addons (so you only have WPMU+BP running) it still doesn’t work, you could try reverting to the default member theme to see if that works.
The words “DNS error” do not appear in WPMU or BP, so that error is not to do with WPMU or BP. That is going to be host configuration. You need to check with your host to see if you have wildcard subdomains enabled.
Other places to look would be your Apache (or webserver) error log, to see if Apache even sees the request on a subdomain. Or if you have too many redirects for some reason, this would be flagged up here too.
Another thought is maybe you have an existing or apache.conf master rule which is re-writing the domains before the WPMU htaccess is read.
And, that’s what the problem is – it’s not BP not working, it is WPMU not working. Obviously WPMU has to be working 100% for BP to work.
In reply to: Profile page is now blankLook in the error log of your webserver. There will be an error message which will give you clues, or will help us help you.
Well, how latest?
I mean, WPMU 2.7.1 came out a couple hours ago. https://mu.wordpress.org/download/.
BP rc2 is likely to come out in the next day or two. BP rc2 and the current trunk and the v1 release will need WPMU 2.7.1. I suggest you wait for BP rc2, then upgrade to WPMU 2.7.1 and BP rc2 and see if the problem remains.
There’s been so much stuff fixed since rc1..
In reply to: bp_get_field_data no longer workingAssuming you’ve got the field name correct as per Burtadsit’s suggestion, check what you are passing as the second argument. It needs to have an integer user id – i.e. are you sure that’s $user->user_id and not $user->id or similar?
We need far more information to help you.
What versions of WPMU and BP are you using, for starters? Also, have you checked the time correctly in the http://example.com/wp-admin/options-general.php screen?
In reply to: Profile fields how to rearrange ?If you mean on a user’s profile page, i.e. http://example.com/members/13hulyo/, you can’t. This will be an enhancement that might come in future versions of BuddyPress. You can edit the source files and change the order I believe but a) I don’t know how to do that b) you will have to make the change every time you upgrade and c) so I don’t recommend.
In reply to: Remove Blog Link in options-nav“Blog Tracking” ?? I mean there aren’t many other options with “blog” to pick from
In reply to: Release Dates ???BP RC2 is likely to come out tomorrow. It\’ll be in the SVN. That will be tested for probably a week, and assuming no killer bugs are found, v1 will follow thereafter.
EDIT: SVN code is a “work in progress” snapshot and is not guaranteed to be functional or safe. Right now, it seems pretty decent to me but, caveat emptor.
In reply to: Test TopicSecond!

In reply to: Help needed developing DP-Achievements pluginThanks guys
In reply to: Dashboard widgets had disappearedWhat versions of WPMU and BP are you using, have you had this working before – if so what have you changed to cause the broken behaviour, are you using a customised theme – have you edited at all? etc.
In reply to: Changing the word blogBUMP: I’ve been told I’m talking nonsense. I thought you could override the constant? Could someone clarify.
In reply to: Default Country List Profile Does not WorkI think WordPress requires PHP4. This function needing PHP5 to work as-is is probably considered a BP “bug”? Anyone else comment?
In reply to: Member blogs in subdirectoryJust install WPMU with the \”subdirectory\” option. Or have you done that but want all the blogs within another directory (\”memberblogs\” in your example)?
Well, you’ve got the *get* the javascript onto the page. Either you hack a core file which will cause you frustration when you have to upgrade WordPress to a future version, or use a plugin to include it.
You mean top left of theme? That’s an image – you’ll find it in /wp-content/bp-themes/buddypress-member/images/logo.gif.
