In reply to: import/export groups
Unfortunately, we don’t have an exporter/importer for BuddyPress yet. I’ve asked around to see if anyone’s built one, but you might have to end up exporting/importing the MySQL database tables, which can be pretty tricky.
What is the “mindfulness-resources” page — do you have that set as the home page for your site, or is it mapped to one of the BuddyPress components (which one)?
It would also be useful to know what plugins and themes you have on your site. I wonder if something’s messing with the rewrite rules, we can try to help you figure it out.
I’m not sure, but it sounds like your line of thought is valid. Using a cookie for this seems a bit weird, but hey, that’s how it’s been implemented at the moment. 🙂
If when you finish working through things, you still think you’re onto a bug with the missing cookie idea, please would you submit an explanation of the issue over on our bug tracker at https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/newticket ?
In reply to: groups pagination not found – after server moveHmm. Just to check — this used to work fine on your site before its move?
In reply to: [Resolved] WP_DEBUG Notice for bp_setup_current_userThanks @phbernard!

In reply to: Buddypress xprofile_insert_field_groupo BugYour function is hooked to bp_init, and bp_init occurs once per page load. So if you refresh the page lots of times, you’ll get lots of fields. 🙂
In reply to: Buddy Press Memory SpikesThanks — I’ve received your email.
One of the windows is showing a bunch of “-1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)” entries for /plugins/buddypress-media/. Just because it says “BuddyPress” in its name doesn’t mean it’s BuddyPress itself. 🙂
Can you remove this plugin and give it some time to see if your server crashes again?
Ultimately I think you need to contact support for that plugin (I’m assuming it’s RTMedia), but removing it and testing should pretty positively prove one way or another if it’s related to that.If you can’t disable that plugin, then I think your only option is to talk to that plugin’s support team and hope they can figure something out.
In reply to: rel=”nofollow” Group DescriptionI’ve made a ticket and we’ll try to get this fixed in BuddyPress 2.2 (due to be released mid/late January 2015). If the fix is easy for you to apply, once we do that, I’ll try to remember to come back and leave a note here.
In reply to: rel=”nofollow” Group DescriptionAh, good spot. Yes, I think BuddyPress should be nofollowing links in the group description field.
In reply to: Buddy Press Memory SpikesWithout seeing the screenshots you mentioned that your support team provided, we still don’t know if it’s a BuddyPress issue — or related to one of the many other plugins you have running. If you’d like, forward those screenshots to me (paul at this domain .org) and I’ll see if it’s helpful here.
We want it, too! There used to be some plugins around that did this for BP (I wrote one myself, in fact), but all the ones I know of are a few years old and probably out of date/won’t work any more.
Hopefully someone can suggest something to help you out now, but I just wanted to comment and let you know this is something I think will get added to BuddyPress in one of the future releases (sooner rather than later).
In reply to: Buddy Press Memory SpikesHow do your team think it’s related to BuddyPress? If you have data that suggests that’s the problem, can you give us the details, so we can look into it?
In reply to: [Resolved] activation is wrongIt’s not wrong. If BuddyPress is enabled, then we use our own registration URL (the first one in your post).
In reply to: where can i find buddypress’s shortcode ?No shortcodes are in BP.
In reply to: changing multisite to single WP site using BPSwitching from multisite to normal flavour WordPress looks kind of complicated. I came across http://wpebooks.com/2010/09/how-to-enable-multisite-in-wordpress/ from a good source (see page 24 of the PDF).
Make backups of everything first. 🙂
Right, that JS in the theme is too general and is affecting forms inside BuddyPress templates.
In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal error activating BuddyPressWhile I’m happy you found a solution for you 🙂 downgrading PHP isn’t something that someone should have to do. We’re still unclear as to the cause of the problem; I’d be surprised if it was only related to the PHP change (maybe changing the PHP version also cleared some cache or something — I don’t know).
We run our unit tests on PHP 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5 — see https://travis-ci.org/buddypress/BuddyPress (I know they are currently broken, unrelated!).
No. 🙂
In reply to: Persian support buddypressWe can’t help with validating the translations on translate.wordpress.org. I am not sure who manages the Persian translations. If you can’t find out either, ask on https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/
Thank you for contributing translations to BuddyPress 🙂
If the theme vendors have chosen not to support BuddyPress (it really doesn’t take much effort — and you have to be doing something non-standard for BP’s default compatibility to not work), that’s disappointing to hear and I guess it means I won’t be recommending ab-themes. If the developers at ab-themes read this and you do want to get things working with BuddyPress, email me at paul at this domain, and we’ll see what we can do to help.
If it works in IE/Safari with twentyfourteen but not with your normal theme, the problem must be in your normal theme templates somewhere. I don’t think the “The code on this page disabled back and forward caching” error is relevant as that is in IE only (I assume), and you’ve said that it also doesn’t work in Safari.
I wonder if @mercime has seen anything like this before.
Well.. I haven’t updated Welcome Pack since 2011-12-4, and that was when WordPress about version 3.3.1 :). Parts of the plugin might still work, but I doubt everything is going to work perfectly.
In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal error activating BuddyPressThat’s a core class introduced in 2.0; I’m surprised you’re seeing this, unless some other plugin has tried to customise the class or you’ve added something to a helper file manually.
In reply to: Where is the option to register? We don’t have our own option for that. Use WordPress’ “allow registration” option which I think is in wp-admin > Settings > Reading.
Regarding the bar, no. Again, it’s WordPress’ bar, and there are probably helper plugins which will turn it off for you (or code snippets); you should be able to find something on Google pretty easily.
In reply to: LanguageContribute to the translation on https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/buddypress/dev and then, eventually, your WordPress will download the updated translation automatically. 🙂
