In reply to: New plugin: BuddyPress Mute
Is this on Github?
In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal Error after UpdateWe have just released BuddyPress 2.2.2.1 which includes the fix for this problem. Please upgrade, and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience that the initial 2.2.2 release caused. 🙂

I am going to close this thread because we have a similar discussion happening over here: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/fatal-error-after-update/#post-237672
Thank you.

In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal Error after UpdateJust to let everyone know that we are looking at this right now.

In reply to: Buddypress images and WP Smush itProbably not really unless you (or a developer) builds something custom, but one of the things we will do soon – either in the next release (2.3) or the one after (2.4), we’re seriously looking at overhauling how we handle images. We’ll keep this use case in mind (having them stored in the media gallery).
In reply to: BP 2.2 Broke Chat and MessengerCould you tell us what precisely they had to change?
In reply to: BP 2.2 also broke Q&A Plug-InI’m not really sure creating two threads about problems with other plugins breaking was really necessary. One was sufficient.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.2.0 Breaks Featured PostsHi @kkradel
Sorry to hear you’re having problems with 2.2. How has it broken Featured Posts — can you explain what you’re seeing, and also what you expect to see?
Did you update any other plugins, translations, or core files at the same that you updated BuddyPress?
In reply to: Private messaging user blocking/ignoring?I wonder if there’s a plugin that does this now.
In reply to: Private messaging user blocking/ignoring?Yes, but I don’t think we know when that might happen yet (probably several months away as an indication, no promises).
In reply to: I cant believe it’s not FacebookHey @peter-hamilton
Congrats on your progress so far. The images aren’t loading for me here, unfortunately.
In reply to: Registration ActivationRight. To be clear:
Members registrations need to be active, AND each member must have logged in, before they show up in the Members Directory.
In reply to: Default theme is still showingFrom reading that documentation, it looks like the files are named correctly. I’m not sure.
Maybe @hnla or @henrywrightIn reply to: BuddyPress 2.1.1 is not working with WP 4.1Where doesn’t the option appear? Are you able to take a screenshot to help explain?
This is working as intended. The reason is that if we made those links in the Activity Stream to use your site’s normal permalink pattern, if the permalink is changed in the future, all the old links in the Activity Stream would probably break. It’s not scalable to re-generate all those links when the permalinks are changed, especially on giant sites.
In short, I wouldn’t worry about this. The
?p=style links should redirect to the post’s full/normal URL, so it has minimal affect on your users. In reply to: Default theme is still showingI read that the BP default theme has been retired and should not show up under Appearance > Themes unless it’s still in use.
That’s not quite true. If you can remember where you read it, please let me know, and I’ll see about correcting the information.
If you had a BuddyPress site prior to version 2.0, then we will always make BP-Default available in the themes list. If you were to install BuddyPress today on a new site that did not have BuddyPress installed before, then it would not show up. I hope that makes sense.
(I’m not sure if we started this behaviour in version 1.9 or 2.0, but it was around then).
In reply to: Hidden Group not visible in ExplorerAre you implying that your hidden groups show up if you use a browser other than IE 9 and 11?
In reply to: @mentions interface doesn’t workNo, @mentions was improved in 2.1. There are some tweaks in 2.2 for better compatibility on a mobile device, but nothing major.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.1.1 is not working with WP 4.1I think we need to look at one of the problems at a time, otherwise we’ll never figure it out. Let’s take creating a new Group as an example.
Please can you explain exactly how you are creating a group (including what content you’re entering for the group name and group description, and so on), and how far you get through that process before you some kind of error message.
In reply to: Buddypress = website dowmIt looks like your theme always assumes the Activity component is active.
In reply to: Pre loading membersI think most complicated things contain the risk of unexpected dragons.
