In reply to: “Take Photo” not working on Firefox
This is broken in Firefox. We have a fix and targeting it for the 3.0 release: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7676
In reply to: Group Forum Permalink StructureIf you’ve found a way to change the permalinks directly via bbPress (the /forums/ permalinks), then you know the plugin’s worked. If they’re not working for the permalinks on the Groups Forum screen, you’re probably out-of-luck.
Unfortunately, most of the permalinks through BP are hardcoded and are very, very tricky to customise.
In reply to: Create a forum of WordPress site?If you want a traditional forum, you want to use bbPress not BuddyPress. See https://bbpress.org.
I’ve fixed this bug, and it will be included in BuddyPress 3.0, which is probably two or three months away.
Hi @klubnika74
BuddyPress doesn’t allow a user to email another user directly.
You may be mixing this up with the email notification messages, that BuddyPress sends out.By “send a copy of private message between users”, are you specifically referring to the Private Messages feature within BuddyPress?
Keep an eye on https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7672 for updates.
Huh, this does seem to be a bug. We’ll look into it — thanks @opalescent
🙂
In reply to: Activity Streams ProblemThere used to be plugins for this (BP-TinyMCE), but it hasn’t been updated in 6 years.
I don’t know what work would be required to fix it, or make it do what you want, but it might offer a starting point: https://github.com/boonebgorges/bp-tinymceIn reply to: bp_send_email() custom token add in templateHi @shailendras
Can you show me all your code for this, somewhere? I’ll try to help. Thanks.
In reply to: Follow Up Emails With UsersNot out the box, no.
In reply to: Any date for the releases of version 3.0Hi @mikealan
I plan to release when the Nouveau templates are complete. At the moment, I think they’re a good month away at least, we’ve not had too many people helping to get them ready.
At this point in time, I would expect a beta release for testing by mid-March.
In reply to: [Resolved] Private Messaging without being FriendsWe’ll try to make this clearer! Sorry for the confusion.
Hi Shawn. Short of debugging the outgoing mailbox on your server to verify that the email is actually sent, and then monitoring that inbox for any bounce notifications, no, I don’t have any answers. I think I recall seeing Microsoft’s email services blocking the user registration email because it thinks it’s spam (or a bad link).
You could try, as a test, totally replacing all the words and links (using the BP email editor) in the registration email, and seeing if that gets delivered. I suspect it’s being blocked because of the activation link.
In reply to: Rout “Author” link to BP Profil? No built-in way to do this.
If you know the basics of WordPress plugins, I think you could use the
author_linkfilter to replace out the author archive permalinks. Good luck!Hi @ottiya
Good question, but the answer’s hard. You’ll need to learn how to modify WordPress theme templates. Start reading through all the linked pages on https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/ and when you have a specific question after you’ve made a try, let me know.
In reply to: Buddyboss Theme / Group Email SubscriptionYou are best to ask the plugin authors (if they provide support).
If you’ve tried removing the markup and a space remains, it sounds like you’d need to add some CSS to fix things up. I haven’t tried hacking this plugin like this before, so I can’t offer specific advice.
In reply to: Members Component has no Associated PagesAs long as that Members page isn’t assigned to another component, it’s not obvious why it mightn’t be working. Does the form submit when you click Save, or does nothing happen at all?
Is that Page published?
Have you made any customisations to BuddyPress, or WordPress rewrite rules?I think the go-to for this is https://themekraft.com/products/woocommerce-buddypress-integration/ — might be worth a look.
In reply to: How to customize/remove user dropdown menu?Do you mean on the WordPress Toolbar? (this thing — https://codex.wordpress.org/Toolbar )
If so, if you search for ways to customise or hide the WordPress Toolbar, you should get some clues. It’s not a UI component provided by BuddyPress. In reply to: Show Follow Button on Each Member’s Profile PageHi @ottiya
On the default templates, there is a “Add Friend” button, and we usually position is just below (or next to) the user’s name and avatar picture. But not every theme has to show BuddyPress content in the same way!
If you’ve bought a theme with BuddyPress templates, or customised some yourself, it might be worth going back to where you got them from and ask for help.
In reply to: PHP 7.0 en 7.1 update needed, site is slowRight, it should work. Unless the poster is using Legacy bbPress forums; I bet those don’t.
In reply to: Adding a link (button) on member directory pageNice work! That looks like it ought to work. Assuming you’re logged in. Assuming that user has that capability.
Have you tried adding text or something just output that PHP block, to double-check your edited template is actually being used? You might be touching the wrong file.
Failing that, it might be output, but just hidden by your theme’s CSS? Have you checked for this element inside the web browser’s inspector tools, have you found it?
Alternatively, you could use this code, but I don’t see why it would make any difference:
<?php if ( is_super_admin() ) : ?> <div>hello world</div> <?php endif; ?>^ That slightly different syntax for PHP in these template files (note the
{}are gone) makes the file slightly more readable/less prone to be accidentally broken. In reply to: Pending Activation@kavsc2 Please make your own support request. These tend to be very different fixes.
In reply to: Adding a link (button) on member directory pageYou might be running a theme with BuddyPress-specific files. Have a hunt around your theme, look for a similar structure. etc
