AFAIK, the ability to upload a cover image with the Twenty Twenty-Five theme is the same as the Twenty Eleven theme, which was posted here.

This appears to be a duplicate topic thus closing this topic.

See User Profile Cover Image Upload Not Working on iPhone.

I was able to locate someone with an iPhone and I wasn’t able to duplicate the issue you described:

    With:

    • WordPress 6.9
    • BuddyPress 14.4.0
    • Twenty Eleven theme
    • iPhone 16 Pro
    • ios 26.2 <- Safari browser

    Steps:
Pressing the “Select your file” button produces the following selections:

    • Photo Library
    • Take Photo or Video
    • Choose file

Selected and uploaded a photo from the “Photo Library” which uploaded successfully, i.e., “Your new cover image was uploaded successfully”.

You appear to be double posting, see User Profile Cover Image not uploading in the Iphone Safari Browser.

The difference is the other topic specifies the Safari browser. Is this isolated to the Safari browser or do other installable browsers have this same issue as well? Additionally, what theme is being used on the website?

Just so you know, I don’t have an Iphone, so I’ll have to check and see if someone on the team has one and can duplicate this issue.

The standard message for BuddyPress (BP) is “Sorry, that username already exists!” which appears to differ from what you’ve indicated, perhaps you elaborate as to why there is a difference. Furthermore, additional info would be helpful, such as:

    • Is this is “single site” or “multisite” installation?
    • Is this the “standard” or “membership requests” registration process?
    • Can the assumption be made that BP 14.4.0 is currently installed?

Moving along, the fact that “XAMPP” appears to be functioning properly may be an indication that the server configuration for “Raspberry PI” isn’t setup properly or something has gone awry with the “rewrite rules”. If it is the latter, saving the “permalinks” structure again may correct the issue. If it is the former, make sure the “mod_rewrite” module is enabled for the “Apache” server.

Additionally, check the “Site Health” status panel for failed tests

Is this a plugin (featured group) that is separate from BuddyPress?

In the future, create a new topic for yourself, instead of trying to hijack a topic by someone else. Your issue has been moved such that it can be addressed separately.

For reference on “Caps lock is on” warning – see trac ticket 9324.

The “Caps lock is on” message and the large “top arrow” indicates that the file containing the CSS rule for the warning has not been enqueued. This feature was first introduced in WordPress 6.9 and can be duplicated when the BP Nouveau template pack is active, however, this should not prevent the registration of new members.

When time allows, I’ll open a ticket to address the issue of “Caps lock is on” and large icon showing when the registration page is first displayed/rendered when the BP Nouveau template pack is active/enabled. The workaround, for now, is to perform one of the following:

    • Click anywhere on the page to dismiss the warning message and icon. Note: the warning message & associated icon will reappear if “Caps lock” is enabled on a new registrant’s keyboard
    • Temporarily switch to the BP Legacy template pack until a fix has been implemented in a new BuddyPress release.
    • Roll back to WordPress version 6.8.x (current version of the WordPress 6.8 branch) until a fix has been implemented in a new BuddyPress release.

As to “Can’t register new users”, you will have to provide additional info/details as to what part of the registration flow is preventing the completion for new registrations.

For reference, the Topic Owner (TO) has opened Trac Ticket #9322 (Bug report at the core for the members loop).

If you are referring to the “built-in” search form on the Members directory page, it searches all xprofile fields that have entries in the bp_xprofile_data table, as well as, the “users table” (“user_login” or “user_nicename”) for the given search term. Additionally, the query is based on the “Like” operator with a “wildcard” (%) in front and after the search term, e.g., LIKE '%" . $searh_term . "%'".

In essence, a word such as “usable” will return as a hit for a search term of “usa”. So, what you will, most likely, want is a more advanced search capability of which you can:

    • Code it yourself – see flexibility in members loop, caveat: this is old information but it provides insight as to how to go about it, sans a search form.
    • Give the BP Profile Search plugin a try to see if it fits your needs.

Other than the above examples, there are available commercial plugins that you should be able to find on you own.

3.Yes I have generated the Register and Members pages, but they are empty.

This item is still unclear due to the interpretation of “empty”, this could mean you are being redirected to a “404” page or something else is going on. So, more information is still required from you.

    • Provide screenshots of the “empty” pages
    • How is your Permalink structure configured?
    • Have you look at the error log to see if any errors are generated when you visit any of the “empty pages” and, if there are errors, what is indicated?

You will have to provide additional information for clarification, e.g.:

    • What theme are you using?
    • Have you generated menu items for the Register and Members pages?
    • Are you using other plugins that might have anything to do with Registration and Mbembership?

Let’s start there and see where this leads.

You should create your own topic with specificity to your situation, instead of making comments on topics that are outdated and quite possibly irrelevant.

Closing this topic due to the nature of it’s age (6 years old).

FWIW: “Last Active” comes from an entry within the “bp_activity” table with the “type” field/column equal to “last_activity” of which the date is taken from the “date_recorded” field/column and this entry (last_active) is, typically required for a user/member to show within the “members directory” page. Thus, at this point, it doesn’t make sense that these imported users show with the “Alphabetical” filter and not with the other indicated filters. However, there is the possibility of a plugin or custom code that might be interfering with the query results.

The “Newest Registered” comes from the “user_registered” field/column of the WordPress “user” table.

What you posted was the error message provided by WordPress. If this is a production site, you should have access to the error log via your hosting services cpanel or equivalent interface.

The error log for the site should provide some insight as to the source/cause of the critical error.

Typically, when a block theme is in use, there won’t be a “Menus” option/section under “Appearance”. For a block theme, WordPress has some basic information about creating menu items at the following:

    Site Editor navigation

Additionally, there is some limited info located at the following, as it pertains to BuddyPress menu items:

Site Editor Navigation <- BuddyPress menus

You will have to provide additional information, so let’s start with a few questions and see where that leads:

    • What was the previous version of BuddyPress before you upgraded to 14.4.0?
    • What does the error log reveal?
    • What steps have you taken to troubleshoot this situation?

You might want to contact/ask the developers of the forum plugin that you are utilizing, if you haven’t already.
