@lepittenger Right, I see now. Looking at
wp_insert_post(), all I can see that’s available to hook into iswp_insert_post_empty_contentPerhaps try something like this:
function lepittenger_custom_edit_page( $maybe_empty, $postarr ) { // Your page ID here. $page_id = 962; // Your user ID here. $user_id = 3; // Get the post's info. $post = get_post( $postarr['ID'] ); if ( ( $post->ID == $page_id ) && ( get_current_user_id() != $user_id ) ) return true; } add_action( 'wp_insert_post_empty_content', 'lepittenger_custom_edit_page', 10, 2 );This is a bit cheeky because we’re tricking WP into thinking the post is empty which results in it aborting the update. But, I can’t think of a better way
Please note I haven’t tested.
In reply to: BuddyPress PermissionsHey @lepittenger
There may be a plugin out there that can do all that you need but you may be able to achieve what you need without a plugin
WordPress uses Roles and Capabilities to dictate what a user can and cannot do.
Take editing a page for example. Any user with a role of Editor or above will be able to do that so all you’d need to do is change the user’s role via the admin area.
Hope this helps!
In reply to: Private Message IssuesTry opening a ticket on their support forum letting them know of the problem:
Try including a screenshot or anything you can that’ll make it easier for them to investigate, that way there will more likely be a fix made available.
In reply to: How to change max date selectorIn reply to: Error after updating to buddypress 2.2.0The actual number of plugins won’t be the issue, you can install as many as you like. Instead the issue will likely be due to some rogue code inside of one of them. It’s pot luck as to which one is the culprit. My advice would be to switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme and then deactivate all of the plugins, one-by-one, checking each time if the problem has been resolved. Once you’ve identified a particular plugin then you could open a support ticket on the plugin author’s forum notifying them of the problem.
If you get to the point where you’re using Twenty Fifteen, with no plugins activated, and the problem remains, then let us know here.
Hope this helps!
In reply to: Private Message IssuesHi @goakes
This is most probably a theme issue. Which theme are you using?
In reply to: Error after updating to buddypress 2.2.0Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 102 bytes) in …/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 108
134 MB is an awful lot to just access the member directory. There must be a reason why so much memory is required. Is it possible to list the plugins you’re using? And also, which theme are you using?
I see what you mean about this possibly being confusing to the member. I think you should create a Trac ticket for this to see what the core developers think.

You can use the exact same username and password you use here in the forums.
In reply to: Error after updating to buddypress 2.2.0Could this issue and this be related?
Hi again @milenushka
So you’re saying if a public forum is added to a private group then you’d like that forum to automatically be made private?
In reply to: Member Page BlankHi @alextuesday
2,200 active members shouldn’t be cause for concern so the next thing that springs to mind is your members template (i.e. your theme). Can you try activating Twenty Fifteen to see if the problem resolves?
Hi @sssimonooo
Check out the article on Customizing BuddyPress Avatars
In reply to: Rounded admin / buddy bar corners? Css#id { border-radius: 5px; }Will do what you need. You just have to look at the source code of the page and find the right selector. The link @danbp provided is a good place to get more info on how CSS works.
Also, here’s some more info on the

Hi @alexfa08
It’s great to hear you’re thinking of theme development particularly for BuddyPress.
There’s lots of things to consider, but The Theme Review article is a good place to start. It details some guidelines as well as standards and good practices.
In reply to: Modify the activity loopTake a look through the template files here to see how things fit together. If you use the Template Hierarchy article as a starting block (read through that first), the way you should organise your templates should become clearer
Hope that helps?
In reply to: URGENT – Nickname displays in address barHi @format19
You mention ‘the forum’. That’s bbPress and not BuddyPress functionality. Have you tried asking on their support forum?
In reply to: Sitemap Breaks when I install Buddy PressIn this case you should contact the plugin author. Unfortunately, being a premium plugin, I can’t see the plugin’s code to try to help.
Sometimes replies are maked as spam. That may have been the reason? Either way, it would probably have been better if the notification was cleared to avoid confusion at your end.
Feel free to open a Trac ticket to report the problem to our development team.
Hi @@garrett-eclipse
Is this something that happened on here in these forums, or did it happen on your own BuddyPress website?
In reply to: Sitemap Breaks when I install Buddy PressHi @tutakjj
Do you have a link to the sitemap plugin you’re using?
In reply to: bp_get_member_type() is not working in the loopHi @imath
Thanks for investigating! Who’d have thought
array_pop()needing an array instead of a string would be the culprit. You’ve made sense of a very puzzling problem 😀In reply to: bp_get_member_type() is not working in the loopCan you try clearing your cache?
In reply to: bp_get_member_type() is not working in the loopThanks. And, just to check, are you running BP version 2.2?
