Yes you need to be registered before you can join groups, joining a group means needing to add the person as a member ID which they can only have if a WP registered user.

Ah right this is why those version requirements are listed and need to be paid attention to.

Regardless of the plugin issue, this forums advice must start and finish on updating WordPress then BuddyPress it is really inadvisable to run with versions that are this outdated, WP had a major security update around the 4.0 point.

You will need to rename that plugins directory name using whatever access you have to server files i.e ftp, cpanel etc, that will act to deactivate the plugin and should restore access.

On a more important note you quote two versions that are very outdated for WP and BP you must upgrade both of these as a matter of urgency as later versions have…[Read more]

Check the Codex documentation, which will guide you on creating a custom buddypress.php page to mirror your themes page.php and in which you could then remove the sidebar from markup.

‘scam’ is a rather rude word.

I suggest that you go and read the Codex, all sections to do with features and getting started then you will be able to ask better informed questions.

Try setting up a proper vhost container and adding a dev domain to your hosts file, the Apache manual and xammp should guide you on this.

You can pass an array of sizes as you show, so you state the type you want i.e ‘full’ but ensure that the original or full default size is much larger than you need and then size it down per avatar display – does mean you need to look at all calls to display avatars probably to ensure any that attempt to display the default are managed for size.
