Defining the constant BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG in bp-custom.php fixed the problem.

@boone – any thoughts on this vs. enabling BP on a site by site basis (as suggested as preferable in your in file comments)? Is activity / members / groups, etc. shared when BP is activated separately for each site?

@tayenewm there is a good chance this is down to your theme so reinstalling BuddyPress is most probably unnecessary.

If the developer has modified any of the markup in members-loop.php then there is a good chance the modifications are what has broken the sort feature. The sort feature is dependent on certain page elements so if any class names or…[Read more]

@hnla in the end this wasn’t a problem with the .pot file. It was a self-inflicted problem caused by messing with wp-config.php. Thanks again for your help.

As you say both approaches are valid which makes the choice difficult. A Codex guide on the advantages and disadvantages of each approach would be V useful. I find the attraction with bp-default is it is tried and tested. That said, the template hierarchy allows me to ‘get my house in order’ – everything in my theme that is BP is filed…[Read more]

@hnla For the patch I submitted, I had used https://buddypress.svn.wordpress.org/trunk/ Should I use https://svn.buddypress.org/trunk instead? Do the 2 URLs point to different resources?

@hnla apologies should have explained that a bit better – i’m not assuming, I think BP does the assuming. Take a look at the last line of Boone’s post:

@hnla the site I’m working on was built pre BP 1.7 so uses a child theme of bp-default. I thought that BP assumes add_theme_support for bp-default child themes?
