    @kriskl

    if I may add, it used to work OK. I have a feeling the latest buddypress update may have broken something

    @shanebp

    members profiles – are buddypress ingredient. not bbpress
    Posting about it on bbpress – they will reply – it is buddypress problem.. chicken and egg.. 🙂

    I am just surprised you or anyone is not interested to investigate errors that exist in the software on this very website.. 🙁

    @kriskl

    it seems the very problem exists on this buddypress website.

    for example:
    page one shows replies..
    https://buddypress.org/members/vapvarun/forums/replies/

    BUT. when you want to go to page 2..

    BuddyPress

    it redirects to the homepage..

    anyone has a fix for this please??

    thanks, I have tried it few years ago, but it didn’t quite work, maybe I was doing something wrong,

    pity, there is not a dedicated plugin for buddypress 🙁

    It is a great plugin, just testing it,
    I wish more people knew about it,

    one feature /improvement I would suggest
    that after the login, user is not taken to WP backend
    but homepage or user profile (in Buddypress)
    or at least if there was an option for admin to set where user should be taken after registration

    thank you :)

    Is there any fix yet, workaround for this error? our users also report getting this error, (we do not use paypal etc)
    we use WPMU 2.9.2 and BP1.2.3

    their accounts are activated, but the screen displays this error message, and it confuses them! :(

    I just had another check, from another profile and

    user with ‘normal’ rights

    and the same problem happens,

    message is sent to 2 people, One random, and one who I have deleted as admin for spamming via wordpress admin panel :(

    @kriskl

    sorry, it is WPMU 2.9.1 and Buddypress 1.2.3 (I think)
    there are many plugins installed and some small modifications, but not related to PM

    what I think may have triggered it, is i had to delete some spammers, and deleting via buddypress did not seem to work, so I went to wp-admin and deleted one or two spammers there,

    but it asked me to transfer their posts to my (admin) profile,
    there were no posts, but that dialog box came up, so I accepted it.
    and it had completed the delete process successfully,

    I think there is not..

    it would be nice option to have..

    some people get confused.. and instead of posting on group forums.. post in activity box

    is there any way to remove the ‘box? :)
    or just let Moderator/admin to post announcements?

    @kriskl

    thanks for your advice and replies
    my fear re being blacklisted was a bit exaggerated, I have checked lost lists and our domain/ip is OK (only one place has one blacklisted)

    in April overall for every 5 users, 1 did not activate the account
    I am sure at least half of them are not spammers, I had a look at their email addresses,
    so, I can only guess, users are not computer savvy.. and did not look at their junk email box for activation email etc..
    I have change the form, so it tells them now to check junk folders. maybe this will help!

    something else occurred to me
    where do I change the default email address the activations email are sent from?
    maybe this will help and emails won’t land in spam folders..

    kind regards
    Kris

    @kriskl

    Yes! Please

    This is really the essentials when it comes to registration.

    of course, my fear is that our email address has been blacklisted by some servers, so there is probably nothing we can do, but
    many other users simply.. have no idea they have to activate anything, and may have missed the email or the activation ,ink has already expired when they found it..

    @kriskl

    that’s the thing, I don’t want to loose them..

    what if the activation email was in their junk folder or never reached them..

    @kriskl

    Could anyone (maybe rich!) add this to forum extras plugin? forum index..

    please

    Topic view count

    https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/adding-topic-view-count-to-forums#post-6659

    there are some users who after we switched to buddypress forums.. keep asking for that,, old habits die hard :(

    Could anyone update this? or add this to a plugin?

    kriskl

    @kriskl

    thanks rich for reply,

    well I was as admin a member of 61 groups/forums

    but only 21 showed up,

    for some strange reason which is investigated, we had to disable the plugin completely, something kept crashing the site :(

    and forum index is a suspect :(

    if that was a case, you may hear from my developers on the forums ;) as they are trying to figure it out
