re <!– m –>
I think so, but well, not worried about it for now it does not display anyways, just shows up when in editing older posts
Sure, phpbb is more mature, but it is maine a discussion forum,
and for many users, it is a pain to use,, users these days, i think, are more used to facebook than forums…
phpbb is full of features but in the process the ease of use is gone,.
it is a pain to tell users, where to go even to change their profile,, or how to subscribe to a group..
for pure forums it is great, but phpbb looses on ease of use and on social front

WP-United is OK for blogs, as far as I know, they do not support ‘united’ with buddypress
Take a look at bbpress before you start phpbb

I am just about to move from phpbb to bbpress/buddypress
and converting it is major pain

so take a look before you decide
Yes! I totally agree!
I am struggling with the same problem!
I have opted for Groups forums.. but every so often I wish there was proper Index, just like normal forums (bbpress for example) because users are used to that!
My only solution – something what I am planning to do untill proper solution is out,
I will create manually a table / index with the most important forums, or featured forums
And I guess will try to place is above ‘all/my topics..’ OR just create a new page
If anyone comes up with a proper solution (code) or plugin,. please post here
kind regards
Kris
I had a quick test
unfortunately it broke another plugin, ajax quote,

has anyone else had the same problem maybe?
thanks, this is a good idea with auto complete!
Hello!
It is nice idea for a plugin
main problem I have faced,
we have over 50,000 members.. and it needs pagination of the members list – in the invite members to a group list
otherwise there is too much data to handle

so as it is, I cant use it
yeah, 100 is not enough though

so it means we’d have to pay,
by the way,
there is a plugin WP Polls but but does not work with buddypress
thanks! I feel a bit better now haha
as we also use polls on our site, and before moving to buddypress, I am trying to find solutions for most of our users habits..
the only problem with Polldaddy is it is paid

and I would like to keep users on our site,.. not going to polldaddy etc.
so I thought Native Group Polls would be cool to have!
having said that i will try polldaddy
thanks
So, what do you use as an alternative to them?
Noone else thinks it is a good idea to have a Poll Extension for Groups?
is it possible to ask for support and to add another site in this plugin?
or I have to do it myself?
kind regards
Kris
oh, sorry,.. i did not notice it, thanks! @pcwriter
there is the invite friends plugin here: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/invitefriends-plug-in/
but it has not been updated for some time
is it just me, or Links does not work with new 1.2 BuddyPress default theme??
I see no option to add new links

sorry if this was discussed already, I had a quick look but did not see anything
thank you! @peteranselmo
I am looking forward to it

re group access levels – generally it could do too,
is there a way to block access to groups/forums – until users log in?
as I understand. this setting is not about public/private group though
maybe i am wrong. i do not know, i am quite new to BP
hi!
this plugin is great!
I have one feature request,
maybe this option exists I have not seen it though,..
To allow ONLY for logged in users download shared documents
at the moment anyone can,
if only logged in users – it would give more incentive for outside users to join the site network
kind regards
Kris
Is there any chance to develop a plugin that would
Let users invite to the site/social network
all contacts from his address book? or from gmail contacts etc?
so, this plugin is not about connecting with people already on the site, but to invite all his friends outside of the network to join .
kind regards
Kris
it is per hour, so I do not know what it will be in the end…
depends i guess how many complications we encounter..
i am not a programmer, so have to pay developers to do it,..
of course for them it is a learning process also,
I will however try and post as much as I can,
but first we have to manage it
Ah, many problems!

But developer who is dealing with the conversion, slowly manages it,
one problem at the moment,
is for example with links.
in phpbb links are normal like that:
 http://tv.opentuition.com/categories/13/OpenTuition-ACCA-P2-Channel
in converted bbpress:
<!– m –>http://tv.opentuition.com/categories/13 … P2-Channel<!– m –>
is there a quick way to clean all this extra junk code?
Thank you for quick reply
I will try that,
Is there any way to “filter’ and show, for example 10 Forums only and not complete lists?
I understand buddypress forums does not support “sub-forums” (??)
kind regards
Kris
