@johnconner You might opt to use a plugin for the animation, see first result in https://www.google.com/search?q=wordpress+submenu+open+animation or follow online tutorials which are available in link above.

Yeah I got group forums right now

@tomraff as of BuddyPress 1.7, BuddyPress Pages are rendered automagically in nearly all WordPress themes.
If you have activated the BP Template Pack plugin, deactivate it and delete the plugin.

@julianwagner might be a JS conflict. To double-check, change to Twenty Twelve theme or BP Default theme and check if issue is resolved.

@kkradel that is a sitewide notice created by the Super/Site Admin. There’s a JS conflict. To delete the message as Super/Site Admin: From your account at the admin toolbar, go to Messages > All Member Notices or from your profile page, go to Messages > Notices

I am using catalyst theme and I have added buddypress to it. I have also used BuddyPress Template Pack.
Not to rock the boat, but if you have BuddyPress 1.7+ activated in your site, you shouldn’t need to install/activate that BP Template Pack plugin anymore in most cases.

@johnconner you should create a child theme of BP Default theme and then add the above CSS to your child theme’s stylesheet.
