B. Copy sidebar.php and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and at the top, above all code contained within, add this
[UPDATED]
``
Then at the bottom of sidebar-buddypress.php, below all other code, add this:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/smileth/ at the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php are in
Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.
In reply to: [Resolved] Alignment Issues – Smileth theme@roguedjinni Based on initial scan, you only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress,
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your smileth theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to yoursmileth theme folder in server – activity, blogs, forums, members, groups, register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. Copy header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the bottom of the file, below other code contained within, add this: [UPDATED]
`Content`@mrlobaloba Halleluiah! You’re welcome. Marking this as resolved then

@nahummadrid marking this as resolved then. See ya!
In reply to: [Resolved] Alignment Issues – Smileth theme@roguedjinni did you want the index.php two-column layout (with sidebar -> categories) or the page.php layout with full-width?
== Do you know of any examples that have 1000s of sites, not wp.com? ==
@nahummadrid Well, hundreds to thousands – The Le Monde Newspaper and Harvard Law Blogs come to mind since they’re veterans of WPMU as well. You can also check out
https://wordpress.org/showcase/flavor/wordpress-ms/
https://buddypress.org/showcase/Re sitewide recent posts –
Here’s a plugin for multisite recent posts with avatar – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/diamond-multisite-widgets/ – have used this myself for home page
Found a plugin for multisite recent posts with thumbnails Compatible up to: 3.2.1 – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-recent-network-posts/ haven’t used this so can’t comment on it
In reply to: [Resolved] Alignment Issues – Smileth theme@roguedjinni thank you for following directions. Per initial scan, I would like to check out what goes where with the theme-specific codes you have there so that we don’t keep going back to the drawing board in case structure goes awry. I cannot find any online demo of your theme, can you post your site url or another site online that has this theme on?
@scorpiion4984 – you have two options listed below – because of page title. With option 1, the page titles in the BP template files won’t be changed to h1 and will not get the styling from your theme (but you could address this via stylesheet yourself). With option 2, you can get this h1 but would entail a lot of revisions which you would have to keep in mind and redo when you update BuddyPress/BP Template Pack:
1. Create only two files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php and upload to server wp-content/themes/fullscreen
or
2. Download 6 BP template folders from your fullscreen theme folder in server to your computer hard drive and change 16 template files then upload 6 folders with 16 revised files to your fullscreen theme folder.I would choose #1
In reply to: Integrating Existing Theme with Buddy Press Help??@roguedjinni please start your own topic and post the generated pastebin uri’s there for good nettiquette
== i can’t seem to get the “groups” page and profiles running. ==
@gospelcast looks like you’ve fixed your profiles issue http://gospelcast.org/members/patricksan/profile/
As for the groups page,
– check if groups directory and files were uploaded within wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/
– also go to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Components and double-check if you have not disabled groups component. Re-Save page if you have activated groups component.
– go to BuddyPress > Pages and double-check if you have a Page assigned to your Groups. Re-Save Pages if you have selected Page for Groups.
– go to Settings > Permalinks and Re-Save permalink structure.
– for extra measure, re-upload BuddyPress plugin into plugins folder@nahummadrid that’s all right if you have 10 or so subsites.
For installations with dozens to thousands of subsites, switch_to_blog is an expensive function and will cause performance issues. The Sitewide Tags plugin also supports custom post types and custom taxonomies – http://wpmututorials.com/plugins/sitewide-tags-update/ Good luck.
@teorourke Code to the index.php you posted above is a BP template file from /swagger/members/index.php Please post the code of index.php from /swagger/index.php which I use to double-check structures. It looks like you would only need to add two xxx-buddypress.php files instead of revising 16 files but I want to make sure first.
In reply to: Avatar Cropping IssueHow about when you upload a large image to your post, do you get the large, medium and small images as choice?
== Ok I just test the comments with the BuddyPress Default 1.5.5 Theme and the commenting worked. ==
@scorpiion4984 So this means that there is something – theme/plugin – which is conflicting with the JS of BuddyPress for the activity comments. One way to check is deactivating other plugins except BuddyPress and changing to Fullscreen. If activity commenting still works, activate plugins one by one to check which is the culprit.
Re: BP template HTML compatibility issues
– Code to index.php you posted above is that of BuddyPress templates’ /blogs/index.php. What I need is the code for your theme’s fullscreen/index.php
– Code to footer.php is blank
– Your layout is 3 column in http://nationalgamingleague.com.au/main/category/competitions/ , Just to let you know that you might need a wider area for the BuddyPress content like members and group pages, etc. ==> like a layout with 2 column or a full-width layout instead? Up to you though.
.- Also, please confirm, your theme is Fullscreen from Graph Paper Press.In reply to: BP Signature Plug InDeactivate the buddypress-group-forum-extras plugin manually via FTP/SSH/File Manager by renaming it to e.g. buddypress-group-forum-extras-xxx
Re: issue with commenting on posts in activity stream:
Have you tried changing to bp-default theme to check if the issue is corrected? If not, deactivate plugins except BuddyPress as well?Re sidebar below content area:
In order to assist you in making BP template files compatible with the HTML structure of your Fullscreen theme: Open up your Fullscreen theme’s header.php file, copy all code, paste all to pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated URI here. Do the same for your theme’s index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php files.Getting the following message when I go to your main site:

What theme are you using? Check if it’s listed in this page with the solution to BP template compatibility – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/#template-packed-wordpress-themes
In reply to: Setting up a BP CDN. Not sure what I should doSetting up CDN on the same server as your site is, will defeat the purpose of a CDN to speed up your website. Different strokes for different folks. Check out these articles:

2. http://wpmu.org/scaling-wordpress-wpmu-buddypress-like-edublogs/ with some tidbits about media files management
@mrlobaloba remember that solving this involved changing to bp-default theme and deactivating other plugins except BuddyPress beforehand and assigning the new Page Attivita to the Activity stream in BuddyPress > Pages and clicking save.
This was what I did in that specific installation – simple really:
1. Go to Network Admin dashboard menu BuddyPress > Components – deactivate activity stream component, click button to save/update.
2. Go to lavori.italianproplayers.com/wp-admin (where you defined BP i.e., where BP is installed) and dashboard menu Settings > Permalinks and click on Save button.
3. Go back to Network Admin dashboard menu BuddyPress > Components – Activate activity stream component, click button to save/update
4. Check that the page Attivita is selected for the Activity stream in BuddyPress > Pages and click save.
5. Go back to lavori.italianproplayers.com/wp-admin dashboard menu Settings > Permalinks and click on Save button.Note that the above might or might not work for other installations.
I suggest that you set up BP components, pages, forums, etc. and adding BP plugins using the bp-default theme. Test if BP components and plugins work using bp-default theme as well. Change to BP-compatible or BP-ready theme if you’re satisfied that your default installation is working well.
@nahummadrid Yeah, I was kinda surprised you asked about a blog’s post thumbnail since I’ve seen you doing more advanced stuff. Thanks for adding “in blogs-loop” to the topic title now lol.
Re: Thumbnails for latest posts per blog in Blogs Directory
– last time I did this was early 2011, I installed https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/ and it supported post thumbnails. Best place to ask advice and support re this plugin is at the WP Multisite forums https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite and just add tag wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags on the sidebar
In reply to: Integrating Existing Theme with Buddy Press Help??@aces Yes, did them all so far, but all are welcome to help out

@jkrysto what’s the name of your WP theme? Open up your theme’s header.php file, copy all, then paste code to pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated URI here. Do the same for your theme’s index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php
@nahummadrid In general, template files used:
1. index.php file – move link to author into post meta then replace the author-box div with your new post thumbnail div
2. functions.php – add support for post thumbnail
3. theme’s stylesheet – add styles (e.g. float: left;) to your post thumbnail div and margin for your post title, post meta and post content
4. (optional) archive.php, tags.php, category.php, search.php etc.WP Codex – https://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Thumbnails

What theme are you using? WP/BP versions? Did you install WP via webhost script or manually e,g. via FTP? Have you done basic troubleshooting like deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and changing to bp-default theme?@mrlobaloba clear cache. It’s working now http://lavori.italianproplayers.com/attivita/ with bp-default theme
