In reply to: Can’t edit child theme files
Yes, this is a known issue and ticket has been filed at WP trac. https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/16744
Hi Ross, have you tried deleting BP_USE_WP_ADMIN_BAR from your WP 3.3 install?
In reply to: Fixing AlignmentThis just means that there’s a extra/missing/duplicate div within the template files. What compatibility method did you use for Step 3 of the BP Compatibility method – the first method which changed 16 template files or the second method with header-buddypress.php etc?

If you’re on WP 3.2.1 and BP 1.5.1, go to admin dashbard Settings > Forums – Archive Slugs – Forums Base and check what you have there. If the base is forums then go to yoursite.com/forums or if base was changed to sitewide-forums, then go to yoursite.com/sitewide-forums/ (assuming you’ve got single WP install or that BP is installed in main site of a multisite install. In reply to: Settings tab on users’ profile page gives 500 errorTo clarify, are you on WP 3.2.1 or have you upgraded to WP 3.3 or is this is a new WP 3.3 install with BP 1.5.1?
Also, is this happening using the bp-default theme or with another theme?
Lastly, internal server error – What is showing in your web server error log? Where are you hosted? Shared or Cloud or other form of hosting plan?

In the meantime, rename the buddypress plugin folder in server to e.g. buddypress-xx, refresh browser and go to wp-admin.
In reply to: Bring Buddypress navigation into wordpress menuJust to clarify, when you say regular WordPress navigation menu, do you mean your theme’s main navigation menu which should have custom navigation menus or the WordPress Admin Bar? Or do you want something like tutorial at http://www.michaelkuhlmann.com/tutorials/customizing-admin-bar/
You can make your WordPress theme compatible with BuddyPress by installing and activating the BP Template Pack plugin. After which, you’ll need to go through the BP Compatibility Process – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
In reply to: Advanced search & map searchDELETED – you already discounted the unified search in other topic posted

In other words, there’s no plugin out there which does what you want per post above. In reply to: Newbie: membership integration and other stuff1. To make your WordPress theme compatible with BuddyPress, install and activate the BuddyPress Template Pack plugin and go through the BP Compatibility process – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
2. As for Wishlist or S2Member, there’s been positive and negative feedback on both [EDIT – S2Member specifically notes support for BuddyPress which you should take into consideration]. You should contact vendors of both plugins about planned/scheduled plugins’ update for compatibility with upcoming WP 3.3 (prob this coming week – there are major changes) as well as upcoming BuddyPress version. Then check out respective plugins’ forums and see which has more issues reported and which provides more support.
In reply to: Media shared by all?== I do not want people to be able to delete or change others pictures, etc ==
Only those with at least Editor capabilities (not Author) can edit/delete post/s by others. Authors can only edit their own posts. In reply to: BP Default Theme: Login Form1. Build a child theme of the BuddyPress Default theme https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
2. Copy over header.php from the bp-default theme to your child theme folder https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.1/bp-themes/bp-default/header.php
3. Add the following code from sidebar.php into your header.php wherever in the structure after the body tag you prefer. You need to style your login form accordingly (horizontal or vertical).
In reply to: Assign Posts to BuddyPress Members?== when trying to change the author of a post ==
– Is this a single WP install where you allowed your members to publish posts? Or is this a multisite installation where you’re attempting to change post author’ name.
– If you deactivate Members plugin and Gravity Forms, can you change the author name?
== I just canβt transfer any other posts to them in the admin. ==
Sorry, not clear. You want to transfer posts of whom for whom in the admin? And why transfer via Gravity Forms?
In reply to: permission errorSingle WP or WP Multisite? Did you try to deactivate all plugins by renaming plugins folder to e.g. wp-content/plugins-xx ? Do you mean WP 3.3 trunk?
Your site is on maintenance mode, cannot see what’s going on.
There are some examples/walkthrough on how to implement Step 3 using method 1 or method 2 at the bottom of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/#tplfiles
