In reply to: Password Reset/Change Problem
wp-includes/registration.php has been deprecated since version WP 3.1. What WP/BP versions are you on then? Plugin or theme conflict. Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme.
In reply to: BP Admin Bar overlaps my dashboardYour site URL? It’s hard to keep guessing what’s going on.
In reply to: Safe to edit BuddyPress Plugin? If you have a child theme of bp-default theme, copy over the header.php file to child theme folder. Open header.php with text editor and make changes in navigation links.
In reply to: Can’t create groupsNo, there is no “Create Group” in the dropdown under “My Account” link. I don’t believe there ever was. The My Account link in BP Admin Bar shows all links available when you go to your profile page.
Sticking to bp-default theme with all plugins deactivated except BuddyPress,
– go to dashboard > BP components – disable Groups, save settings then log out.
– log back in again, enable Groups and save settings, see how Group creation goes now.In reply to: Frisco Child ThemeA theme reviewer with test BP install will be checking out your theme, so no worries.
When you submit a theme to the WP Theme Repo, a trac ticket will be generated.
Your theme (bp child theme) will be queued and the next available reviewer with BP experience, will test your theme and post the review in that trac ticket. Review process can take from a few hours to max 7 days. You will be notified via email and you’ll see whether the theme is approved or whether it needs to be revised and resubmitted to the theme repo. If approved, it’ll take one week max before your theme is shown live in Extend > Themes. In reply to: Safe to edit BuddyPress Plugin?what @r-a-y said

In reply to: Frisco Child Theme” I remember reading about BuddyPress child themes having difficulty with theme review, so if anyone has any updates on that or if you’d like to help, please let me know.”
There’s a special queue for bp-default child themes in themes trac. These themes go through the same process as regular WP themes. For your reference:

In reply to: Frisco Child Theme“so that BuddyPress users have a solid (and free) option for a theme that looks different than the default theme. “
Cool! Will you be submitting this to the WP Theme Repository?
Cheers.
In reply to: Problem with groups slugs@michaelvar, @chouf1 already pointed you to the right direction. You need the updated language files for Hebrew which you’ll be able to find in that website.
In reply to: featured member widget to auto update each dayAs karmatosed noted above, there’s no ready plugin/widget at this time which does what you want, you/someone needs to create one first.
In reply to: Client Side Validation For BP Sign Up Form?@rossagrant, that’d be pretty generous of you. Thanks

You’re welcome. If you check page source, this site’s running on BP 1.3-trunk already, so your patience is appreciated

bbPress the plugin is still in beta, so I wouldn’t install it in live site. The Lead Developer of BuddyPress is the same Lead Dev for bbPress so you can be sure it will be made fully compatible in the near future.
As to your first question, groups has around 4 tables so I suggest you leave them be even if you disable the groups. As always, before making drastic changes, backup DB and server files.
In reply to: Buddypress breaks wp-admin abilitiesIt happened to a test site when I installed WP 3.2. Upgraded to WP 3.2.1 and BP 1.2.9 and all’s well. Do you have any error messages coming up on screen?
In reply to: User Blogsmy2hands, you can just make your site a multi-author site, do-able in basic WordPress site. Posts by members will be shown in recent posts. Going further, set up code for member profile with conditional template tag which shows recent posts by said member using code in regular WP author template file.
