@iconimagery Not a BP issue at all. WordPress 3.6 has jQuery version 1.10.2
A WP theme or plugin should use jQuery version in WP core.

So it could very well be an old plugin enqueueing the old jQuery version. Did you deactivate plugins batch by batch as I mentioned above?
@leonardlapena glad you resolved the issue. Marking this topic as such.
As for BP themes, I roll out my own BP Default Child themes. Nearly all WordPress themes are compatible with BuddyPress. Issues arise in some premium themes which have proprietary templating systems which lock in the user to the theme at times. Some of those could be resolved by the theme author, some not.
In reply to: No Forums/Userblogs in Components and no Setting tab@tom-peak there’s no longer any Forums Component circa BP 1.7. You need to install the bbPress forums plugin https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
In reply to: BuddyPress missing Privacy Menuthe options for the user privacy setting totally DISAPPEARED! It also doesn’t show on the Update posting boxes.
Not quite sure what you mean for the first one? Privacy setting for xProfile fields?
And what doesn’t show on the update posting boxes (status updates right?)?In reply to: [Resolved] Avatar crop not workingIn reply to: I can'y crop my avatar!@techknowledgic upon further check, the problem is that your theme is loading the old jquery 1.7.2 version from Google
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
while WP/BP are using jQuery v1.10.2
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://www.techknowledgic.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js'></script>This is a theme issue. Themes and plugins should use the jQuery version packaged with WordPress. Please contact theme author.
In reply to: Buddypress example website / PressYou can show off your new BP site here. Check out bpinspire.com for ideas.
In reply to: Person Goal Setter@maspegren you might want to check out the BP GTM System plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-gtm-system/ but it hasn’t been updated for some time.
@alanniemies you might want to check out how it’s done https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-user-account-type-lite/
In reply to: registration doesn't work when set as homepage@cupid4 you mean something like this? http://wpmu.org/how-to-build-a-facebook-style-members-only-wordpress-buddypress-site/
In reply to: How to get recent posts on main page@moto-foto The theme author would be the best person to inquire about requiring a post image. I am not familiar with the premium theme, sorry.
As to the login page, did you enable registration in Settings > General. If you did, did you create a blank page named whatever you want and assign it as the register page in Settings > BuddyPress > Pages?
@mvp13585
#1. create a plugin or script depending on where (groups and/or members) you’re associating e.g. the cities and countries with.
#2. No plugins at this time. Either you’d have to code it yourself or hire a developer to do so.@uniqcon89 you should not require those who are trying to help you to register in your site. You can provide a throw-away username and password so that you can delete that user when the troubleshooting is done.
In reply to: I can'y crop my avatar!@techknowledgic the link to the image in your first post leads to 404 page. Basic troubleshooting involves changing to Twenty Twelve theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress. I recommend setting up a development site if you’re going to grow and maintain your BP site with the same environment as your production/live site. That way, you could test plugins and themes before installing/activating them.
Back up your database, then deactivate plugins batch by batch to identify the conflict. Start with the avatars plugin you have activated in your site.
In reply to: Need help regarding BuddyPress installation!@omgayush recently posted template for sahifa
You just need to tweak CSS a little afterwards.
@leonardlapena per your first post ….
but ultimately my registration page is still blank. If anyone has any suggestion I’d greatly appreciate it
hence my response to check if your WP registration works if BP is deactivated 🙂
Re BuddyPress hosted on yahoo, isn’t that shared hosting or do they have VPS already? Sorry, but not all shared hosting plans can handle BuddyPress. Many have to upgrade to VPS when traffic is highter and then later upgrade to dedicated servers for really high traffic sites. Doesn’t yahoo hosting tech support have other ways for users to contact them, like support tickets, or live chat, etc.? Better than being on hold for 4 hours 🙂
@leonardlapena Have you asked yahoo hosting tech support if you can install BuddyPress there with your current plan? In your BP in godaddy, did you check if registration works if you deactivate BuddyPress?
In reply to: How to get recent posts on main page@moto-foto first – BP/WP versions?
second – what theme are you using? Most themes have option to have blog posts in home page or have a widget area where you can list the number of recent posts, etc.
In reply to: Hide Member total in Widget?@marbler one of the reasons you would like to create a child theme is that the changes (CSS or HTML or JS, etc) you make on child theme won’t be overwritten when parent theme is upgraded.
In reply to: [Resolved] "Before Installing" questionYup. Saw what you meant in Chrome. Will just have to reformat the info 🙂
Thanks @lwistIn reply to: [Resolved] Can't change register.php anymore@mstell4hotmailcom let’s go over the points again just to be clear
– Are you still using your BP Default Child theme? Or a different theme now?
– If still on BP Default Child theme, did you create a folder named registration in your Child Theme folder and copied over the activate.php and register.php files which you revised into that registration folder? In reply to: [Resolved] "Before Installing" question“BuddyPress does not work on installations where you give WordPress its own directory.”
@lwist That is true. Read the link about that specific WP install “in its own directory” https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory, it involves moving htaccess file and index.php from the subdirectory where WP is installed to domain root, among others. That scenario is totally different from installing WP in subdirectory e.g. example.com/buddypress and keeping every WP file in that subdirectory. There’s no conflict at all.
formatting on that section of the page is kind of messed up
Looks fine to me in FF. What browser are you using?
In reply to: Manually Activating UsersIn reply to: No "buddypress" in Theme Optionsdo you think updating may fix this
@junithorn It may. Still don’t know why the correct JS is not enqueueing in your site. May I recommend that you set up a development site which mirrors the BuddyPress environment of your site so you may be able to test themes, plugins and all kinds of upgrades. That way you (and users) won’t be stressed out when you implement the changes in your production/live site.
