In reply to: Can BuddyPress Profile Build
@david_1 BP has registration and activation (account) pages. Ability for users to upload their own avatars is already built-in BP. Allowing members to post information about themselves is possible since xProfile component is activated.

In reply to: _/buddypress/_ in URL permalink@bibliata did you by any chance, create a Page titled BuddyPress then made it the parent page for Activity, Members, etc. ?
In reply to: Page Title issue@bryandpi this could be an issue with your page selection in admin menu Settings > BuddyPress > Pages or with your theme.
Check if the Pages you selected in BuddyPress > Pages are named as you want them to be e.g. Members == Members page, Activity == Activity page, etc. If they are correct, determine whether it is a theme issue by changing your theme to Twenty Twelve and check if issue is resolved.
In reply to: _/buddypress/_ in URL permalink@bibliata please clarify, you updated from which BP version to BP 1.7? If you’re on BP 1.7, make sure that your theme and plugins are compatible with that version. You might also want to check your .htaccess file.
In reply to: Change button colours (activity stream)@irabelle site url?

In reply to: [Resolved] Create Group goes to a blank page@mlakritz BuddyPress is compatible with nearly all WordPress themes. The few which are not fully compatible are those which have proprietary templating systems. Before continuing, change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if issue is resolved. If so, then it’s a theme issue. There are some solutions https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/theme-development/template-hierarchy/
What BP version are you using? I recall the issue fixed in BP 1.7x

In reply to: Disable Mail Activation ??In reply to: Avatar sizes@danstriker I see you’d found out by now that applying 50px width for .entry-content img is not the way to go. Recommend that you add the following in your stylesheet for some of the avatars in the bbPress forums
#bbpress-forums .bbp-topic-freshness-author img.avatar, #bbpress-forums .bbp-template-notice info img.avatar, #bbpress-forums .bbp-topic-started-by img.avatar { width: 20px; height: auto; }In reply to: Invalid Activation key in Sign up@aidnotes you’d need to provide more information about your installation. WP/BP version? What BuddyPress components/features are activated in Settings > BuddyPress > Components? Theme used? Plugins installed?
In reply to: Old recent topics widget thread help@hitkid the first post you linked is way too old – 3 years ago, we were using the BuddyPress internal forums. BP 1.7 onwards, bbPress plugin is the way to go and if you activate the bbPress plugin, you should find the following bbPress widgets https://codex.bbpress.org/widgets/ under Appearance > Widgets

– localhost is XAMPP, WAMP, MAMP?
– As for avatar in localhost, choose something other than the default mystery man for those without Gravatars.
– If you installed BP subsite, did you follow instructions at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/ ?
– I suggest that you test BP install first using BP Default or Twenty Twelve/Thirteen theme.@iconimagery pretty sure it’s not BP. Change to Twenty Twelve theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress in your test platform.
