In reply to: [Resolved] Remove Sidebar B not A
@mgrmn thanks for posting back re positive result ๐
Marking this topic as resolved. In reply to: Avatar Cropping@dswd you would go with the jQuery version that current WordPress version is using because that’s what BuddyPress and other updated plugins are using. That’s a major reason why themes should not be dequeueing WP jQuery and enqueueing their own – bad form really.
In reply to: Avatar Cropping@dswd current BP/WP versions are using jQuery 1.8.3 while there are themes and plugins who either use old versions of jQuery and some which enqueue version 1.9.1 and therefore not kosher. Check that.
In reply to: Avatar Cropping@dswd it could be a theme or plugin conflict with BP. What have you done to troubleshoot issue?

You need to find out whether your theme has a template with two column layout. If so, copy source code over to a new file named buddypress.php which you will upload to theme folder in server. Your theme author should be able to help you with this.

@richardicanie BuddyPress is a plugin for WordPress. Hence, you need WordPress installed in order to install BuddyPress. For the forums, you install bbPress plugin in WordPress installation. You may install BuddyPress as well, but it is not necessary if you only want forums in your WP install.
If you already have a large membership in your WordPress site, then I suggest that you upgrade to at least VPS or better yet a dedicated server before activating BuddyPress.

In reply to: Select topics to show on frontpage@globalvagabond you might want to post at https://bbpress.org/forums/
In reply to: Login widget not showing in sidebar@dran2013 Have you contacted theme author? Is the login hardcoded in sidebar? Usually you can override those by adding your own widgets to sidebar.
In reply to: Select topics to show on frontpage@globalvagabond What exactly don’t you understand about using the shortcode? If that’s not what you want, since you would choose the topics manually, you can just copy the topic title you want and add a link to each topic.
e.g.

In reply to: my theme not read the design@drhidragmailcom the theme you purchases is promoted to be BuddyPress-compatible. Looks like your theme needs to be updated. Bounce theme demo shows bp.css while your theme is showing bp-legacy stylesheet. Theme author should be able to provide support for making your theme compatible with latest BP 1.7.2 version.
