There’s also this plugin with posts on profile and also allows posting in front end of site http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddyblog-allow-users-to-blog-from-their-buddypress-profile/
In reply to: Login and Register LinkI’m new to buddypress but believed a login and register link would be placed in the header by default?
Not by default. It depends on the the design by theme author.
However, instead do I need to insert my own links or buttons within the header.php to make this work?
Yes. You would need to create those. See lines 8 through 59 of https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.7/bp-themes/bp-default/sidebar.php for code. Then adjust style to taste.
That plugin has been updated for BP 1.6 per site’s plugin page. The best place to report on issues with the plugin is at plugin dev’s site http://buddydev.com/buddypress/buddypress-sitewide-activity-widget-for-buddypress-1-2-and-above/
In reply to: Double buddypress boxes on pageI recall this same issue was caused by plugin/s related to Activity streams. @vaas have you tried deactivating other plugins one by one or batch by batch except BuddyPress to check which one is causing the issue?
@jcollier not quite sure what you mean. There’s the login link in the Admin toolbar which goes to wp-login.php. Then when user is logged in, BP user links are available in My Account dropdown from Admin toolbar. Are you using a custom theme?
In reply to: Activity – "Post Update" button never stops@ramirocastro have you tried re-uploading BuddyPress manually via s/FTP for example? Looks like some files have not been uploaded completely. If that doesn’t work, WP/BP versions, single WP or multisite? If MS, BP in domain root or in subdirectory/subdomain?
@number_6 you can change “Your Friends” widget title in sidebar.php and sidebar-buddypress.php files in your theme. Please clarify, not quite sure what the issue is per image you attached which is not related to widgets at all.
In reply to: [Resolved] BuddyPress Error – When the activated@darrylnuyda WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? What other plugins are installed?
@sadninja try re-uploading BuddyPress manually i.e. s/FTP
looks like some files are missingIn reply to: layout problem with the order by:@girhagen the label Order by: and the selectbox are on different lines because your theme has styled “label” as display: block. You would need to override the style by adding the following at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet/style.css
#subnav label {
display: inline;
}In reply to: duplicate entry in activity@lordgault have you tried changing to twenty twelve theme and checked if it’s a theme conflict

In reply to: Nothing happends by clicking on the New Topic buttonIn reply to: Buddpress Avater ErrorIn reply to: Dashboard disappears@tibmix not sure why, there are too many variables involved. WP/BP versions? If BP 1.6.5 or BP 1.7, are you using bbPress plugin for your forums – sitewide or group forums? If you deactivate BuddyPress, are your issues with bbPress forums resolved?
In reply to: Buddypress and S2member set up@2dca could be theme conflict. Change to BP Default theme and check if issue is resolved.

In reply to: Template TroublesI’d like to keep running as a child theme and only change what I need.
@binarymon as hnla mentioned above, you can just copy over and revise the template files you want to change to your child theme following the directory structure of the BP Default theme.
@minhtran So if you change to BP default theme, can you post status update?
In reply to: CSS matching for recent active member widgetVersions all are up-to date
@sdglhm You mean you’re on BP 1.7? If so, then the default style for the avatars in the widget area is not showing up in your theme. Site url?
