When and which Settings page are you finding this message? Single or WP Multisite? Where is BP installed in your site?
In reply to: Forum Problemsand decided that it’s probably best to get rid of the site wide forums
@rayela if you want to have the forums in your site, keep the site wide forums as the BP internel group forums are being merged into the sitewide forums.
If I uninstall the bppress plug-in and reinstall it, will I lose all of the groups that I created?
No, you will not lose the groups you have created. But then again, per previous paragraph, if you plan to have forums in your site, you should keep bbPress forums activated in your site.
http://www.tafaforum.com/forums/ …. I think that is the biggest problem that is keeping the sitewide forums from working properly.
I believe you’ve figured out by now that that link does lead to the sitewide forums
In reply to: [Resolved] New Field Group isn't showing anywherethis new group doesn’t appear at the front end of BP at all.
What theme are you using? Site URL?
In reply to: Activity story aligning@ciumbargi I don’t see why you should be blaming BuddyPress for any flaws 🙂 when you’re using a premium pagelines theme which requires afaik a premium pagelines plugin for BP compatibility. The style issues are either with your theme or your plugin and since you’ve paid for both, you should get support from author by posting in pagelines forums.
In reply to: Elements not align right! Looks weirdClosing this. Duplicate of https://buddypress.org/support/topic/activity-story-aligning/
In reply to: Activity story aligning@ciumbargi Big avatars at beginning of the stream denote “Major” activities which include new blog post published, new forum topic posted, etc. Small avatars at the beginning of the stream row denote “minor” activities which include joining a group, new friendships, new registrations, etc. So there is a method to distinguish which is which.
If you still want to make those changes, add the following to your stylesheet
<code>.activity-list li.mini .activity-avatar img.avatar,
.activity-list li.mini .activity-avatar img.FB_profile_pic {
height: 50px;
margin-left: 0;
width: 50px;
}</code>If you’re using browsers like FireFox, Chrome or Safari, right click on the element you want to change, choose “Inspect Element” from the box which shows up and you’ll find the styles you would need to add/change in your theme.
@investoreports please start a new topic for your issue as it’s quite different from this year-old topic. That plugin is compatible up to BP version 1.5 and has not been updated for current BP version. Also, you can edit status updates in the Activity Stream admin panel https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/configure-buddypress-components/#activity-stream-admin-panel
Closing this.
If the styles you linked to from your old theme are messing up your current theme, then delete them. As mentioned in my second post, the styles you posted might not work in your new theme.
Initial scan of the U-Design theme shows that you only need to create two or three files to make your BP template files compatible with your theme.
In reply to: How to disable password creation?@bglclub Please know that we are all volunteers here living in different time zones. What the OP and you have posted requires customization which involves a lot of time which many might not have in abundance.
Know also that there would be instances where you might have to find the solution yourself OR where you have to hire a developer to customize BuddyPress and/or plugin to work together OR follow up and hope that some generous soul who has faced this issue and resolved it would share the information.
In reply to: Groups Directory Page is MissingHave you tried re-uploading your Salutation theme? Looks like some files are corrupted or something got messed up.
In reply to: Activity@patrykos360 not quite clear. Do you mean you do not want new blog posts to be recorded or show up in Activity Stream?
@daiyoukai Change to BP Default theme and check if the actions for the Group Forums are working or not.
@naturalworldstm it most likely would not be the same. Please create a new topic of your own. Include info about which templatic theme and theme demo url to start off.
In reply to: [Resolved] Forum Redirects to HomeGenesis theme framework. … I enabled sitewide forums today.
In other words, you had BuddyPress activated first and you went through the installation process where the default page name and slug of the Group Forums (unless you disabled it during the process) is Forums. The slug/name for your new bbPress sitewide forums page must be different from the slug/name of your Group Forums (Forums). So go to Settings > Forums and change the slug if you haven’t done it yet to e.g. discussions. Then create a new Page discussions and add the bbPress shortcode for forum index e.g.
Don’t know how Genesis Connect works with BP and bbPress since I don’t use the framework. If the above instruction fails, change to BP Default theme to check if issue is resolved.
In reply to: Crop Avatar ProblemAre you on WordPress 3.5 as well?
In reply to: Responsive Theme Set Up HelpAs for Dicussion Forums – if you’re referring to the bbPress sitewide forums, did you add the forum index shortcode to the Page for discussion forums?

In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream?BuddyPress must be activated sitewide = network. https://buddypress.org/support/topic/bit-confused-about-bp-aggregation/
In reply to: Adding code for Google Website translatorWhat’s the name of the website translator plugin you want to use? Where in your theme are you attempting to add that code snippet?
In reply to: Bit confused about BP aggregation@voopress Did you activate BuddyPress in Network Admin? It must be activated sitewide. Is BP installed in main site or in subsite? Site URI?
In reply to: I want Buddypress to work within a templatethe Valor template was deactivated, and Buddypress became my site template
Probably because when you went through the installation wizard at Step 4, you clicked Save without noticing that the button was checked for BP Default theme https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installation-wizard/#step-4-choose-theme-to-use-for-your-bp-install
Just go to Appearance > Themes to select your WP theme, then install/activate the BP Template Pack plugin, and finally go through Appearance > BP compatibility process.
Going back to your original post – BP theme compatibility, what WP theme are you trying to make compatible with BuddyPress? And, did you already try to link the two stylesheets via the link I gave to you above?
In reply to: I want Buddypress to work within a templateUnfortunately, it took over the entire site
Something’s getting lost in translation or context. What theme are you using? Could you be more specific about What you mean “make it work within the site”?
In reply to: Buddypress admin page not foundMy developer did this…
Code is missing. Go to pastebin.com and paste the codes there and post the generated URI here.
In reply to: Site GONE after Buddy Press updgrade!Rename /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-toolbar/ folder to something like /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-toolbar-xxx/
