    Hi, I am picking up that topic. I just upgraded to BP 1.02 and still no mails are sent to the members of a group when the wire-box is checked. Any ideas or anybody experiencing the same.

    To me that is a very important feature…

    THANKS –

    Hey Burt – cool thing!

    I am testing it at the moment and a couple things came to my mind:

    1. It would be great, if there is a sitewide total-tags and total categories thing… (Members, Blogs, Groups and Blog-Posts). If a member searches for a tag “climbing” he would be interested in other members, in groups, blogs with that topic and posts. For me that would be a main goal!

    2. It would be great, if I could force people to choose a category, when they create a group or a blog. Only just a few of my members would add that afterwards…

    I think it’s a great tool your plugin! Thanks alot!

    @kunali – there is a plugin for MU that maybe soes this. I am using it. It’s name is “login as” – you don’t need a password to login as a different user.

    Hey M, I think you are going to be the YEDI-Master of BP Plugins :-)

    @miguael

    ok – thanks for your efforts…! I have two different installs, and both are acting that way. I guess it could have something to do with the mentioned plugins…

    Do you have any idea for me, how I could drop in some code to have the same effect as the widget? (sorry, I am a copy-paste-changer – not a coder…)

    I just tried deactivating the mentioned plugin in “redmountns” blog, re-posted all three articles, but the wrong links are still there in the widget….

    @miguael

    None of the posts showing are scheduled posts – as I said, they do NOT appear here (although they should).

    All those blogs present in the widget have the same permalink-structure: /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

    From 5 posts showing three are from different blogs – all three have wrong links. Although one blog “redmounts” has 1 correct and 2 wrong links (as I said sometimes its right sometimes wrong – it’s not connected with a special blog).

    All the wrong links point to a different blog that the article should be in (so it’s not just the wrong article in the correct blog, but a totally different article in totally different blog).

    One thing that could possibly be a source: In some blogs the Plugin “wp-o-matic” is active (a plugin that auto-posts from rss-feeds). BUT the plugin ist NOT installed in the blogs “42 Tage für meine Freunde konkret” and “madagaskar” which both have wrong links in the widget.

    Honestly – with the present wrong-linked-posts I don’t see a similarity…(and I thought about it alot…) not with the posts themselves…

    Thanks for your efforts…!

    Thanks, Burt.

    The wrong-links behind the articles in the widget are older – right. But the correct links should point to the current articles (which are only a couple hours, days old – all of them). The wrong links point to totally different blogs (not those which the articles are written in).

    Maybe I don’t get it, but why does it happen? Vogelhaus works just fine. I don’t see any connection. It just occurs from time to time…

    Ps: recent_posts table… can I check there something to see if something is messed up?

    Do you have any idea about the scheduled articles. It does not show them. That seems to me like a bug…

    Or: Is there a possibilty to have the same effect as the widget (Athor, Blog, Excerpt etc), but not using the widget but hardcode it? Maybe that would work…

    Thanks again…

    Great stuff!!!

    Am I right, that it’s not for download, yet? I would love it!!!

    Ps: Localization would be great!

    Thanks Jeff, the problem is, that it is a WPMU-Message and the only option I can choose is “try again”.

    It only occurs, when I create a new group, when it comes to finish the avatar-cropping.

    If I change it afterwards in the group options it soesn’t bring up this message.

    It seems kind of strange… any ideas?

    @miguael

    Participant

    Hmmm – this is strange. Exactly this is the error I get with my install. Version 1.0 – Rest exactly like described. Any ideas???

    Ok – I just updated to 1.0

    Point Nr.2 seems still to be a bug. Could you please try it and give me some feedback (either I am crazy, it’s my install or it’s a BP-Bug…

    Thanks!

    Point Nr. 1 seems to be solved (although it still seems that 15 is a “border” – it writes to times 15, but now it goes on)

    @miguael

    Participant

    Perfect – seems to be solved in 1.0 :-)

    @miguael

    Participant

    exactly!!! That is, what I am experiencing and I hope that somebody has a solution for that (it seems that blogs and groups are ok…)

    In reply to: Three little bugs?

    @miguael

    Participant

    Yes – it’s just, that there is a option to turn mails for that on and off. So I thought it should send a mail (what would be nice :-)). But thanks.

    Any other experience with the other “bugs”?

    Nr. 1 and 3 got solved – I didn’t update my custom member-theme correctly… But the main topic about the search is still hot and not solved :(

    For me it got solved. I used a cutsom theme, and I didn’t update the theme correctly. Now it works.

    @miguael

    Using RC2, WPMU 2.7.1, subdirectories

    hmmmm – sorry to bring that up again… the post slugs in the activity feed are showing now sometimes just the actual site url…

    I think this mostly occurs with the slugs mentioned above:

    Root/main blog is using: (buddypress home)

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

    site1.example.com is using:

    /%category%/%post_id%/

    But it could also be, because I am using for some of the posts the Plugin TDOMiniForms (sorry burtadsit for bringing it up again, but I don’t get why the slugs are only in BP-components wrong the the normal WPMU works just fine – everywhere…)

    Would be great if someone could help! I just went live on http://www.young-people.ch (see for the bug http://young-people.ch – although it updating the information every minute now)

    @miguael

    We just went life with our new portal for young people:

    http://www.young-people.ch

    (sorry, it’s german, but you will see the functions…)

    Those “specials ” are implemented so far:

    – totally customized theme (home and member)

    – home theme with special friends-activity stream when logged in (like on facebook)

    – lots of user generated content (media-reviews directly connected with amazon, ressources, downloads, etc etc). I used the TDOMiniForms Plugin for that…

    – special use of the premium-plugin “upgrades”. Instead of having to buy credits for more blog-space you earn credits by submitting articles to the public

    – some bp-dev components (subscribe to blogs, etc)

    It still has some bugs, but hopefully they are solved after the beta. The old Portal (running on Lotus Nots – how wan’t to believe that :-) ) had 2500 Members. Right now every minute there are registering new members…

    Check it out and post a feedback in my wire …

    YES!!! Same with me (Groups issues) – very bad! I just went live and thought take the stable version… *sniff*

    Please HELP!!!!

    I now upgraded to RC2 and WPMU 2.7.1.

    Still the same stuff. We just went live with our site http://www.young-people.ch and with all the new users I think the member-directorie (Groups and blogs are pretty much ok) doesn\’t work well.

    1. How are the members sorted. It seems that it\’s not with latest active, not alphabetically etc.

    2. Search is terrible. The Profile this way doesn\’t make much sense. When I type for my name \”Berra\” – it doesn\’t find it. Only \”Michael\”. Could it be, that it always just searches the first word in the profile? Could you test your install???

    3. Pagination doesn’t work – I can click on “2” – but nothing happens

    It could be, that somewhere I have a bug. But on my main-install and two test-install it acts like that…

    Hmmm – I upgraded to the latest trunk, but I am still experiencing the same issues with some profile-information not showing any members although those members have that information in the profile.

    Any further ideas?

    @miguael

    Thanks Andy,

    but does that code above show my friends activity? I tried, but it’s nothing but empty…

    Do I have to modify it somehow?

    @miguael

    Thanks :-)…

    I found out. change in \plugins\buddypress\bp-activity\bp-activity-templatetags.php line 20-21 to

    function bp_activity_template( $type, $user_id, $per_page, $max, $timeframe ) {

    global $bp, $SHOWFRIENDS, $user_ID;

    if ($SHOWFRIENDS == ‘1’) {$user_id=$user_ID;$type=’friends’;}
