In reply to: BBpress Plugins in V1.1
Thanks for the hint…
I leave that to the pro’s as you are – I am a copy-paste-changer – not a programmer…
In reply to: Upgrading to 1.1-rc/1.1-betaFinding two bugs (?) in the beta-version:
1. When updating the status in the sitewide-activity it shows double (2-times)
2. The widgets are not translated… Could that be a bug, because in earlier versions everything was fine (I am using a german localization)
Anybody else experiencing this?
The rest: JUST GREAT! Although I have to figure out what I will do now with my highly costumized theme…
In reply to: Fighting SplogsThanks – but sadly nothing seems to work:
I have now:
– rename or even delete the wp-signup.php…
– Using a captcha on my registration page (register.php)
– I installed the hashcash plugin with signup-protection activated
– deleted the register-page in BBpress
– added the .htaccess lines
– (and by the way added a couple domains to block in WPMU backend – but still the same domains get through
Is there really no way out?
In reply to: Fighting Splogs@r-a-y – thanks for the htaccess link – I’ll try that (with the bp-explanation) – hopefully it works…
In reply to: Fighting SplogsI did – I just deleted the register-page in bbpress (I read that should do it…)
In reply to: Fighting SplogsAny help on this one… I am pretty sure, this is a WPMU related issue, but the forum-answers over there do not really work for me (as described above). Those registrations seem to go directly – or buddypress “opened” another door…
THANKS!
In reply to: Details About the New Theme ArchitectureI am having problems in using the OLD themes. As far as I got it, it still should work… Could it be that after activating one time the new theme-structure that there is no turning back?
Thats what I’ve done:
1. Installed the new themes
2. Deleted the bp-themes directory
3. Played around
4. Tried to go back, installed the old themes again (member in bp-themes which I created again)
5. White screen of death
Any ideas?
By the way: Still trying to figure out how to adapt my highly adapted theme… I will need in my child theme a couple of template files (php)… it seems not as easy as I thought. Any recommendations how to do it (change the framework or only change the child? If only the child – how to get around some heavy stuff in the framework?
THANKS!!!!
In reply to: New Groupblog PluginGreat! Thanks!
In reply to: New Groupblog PluginHey Marius, great plugin. Just testing it on a test-install…
One question: Did you think about implementing a feature, that a group could be connected with a existing blog? Would that be possible? Some blogs are already existing and it would be great to connect it with your plugin to a group…
In reply to: Hidden Groups should not be hidden from AdminWould be great, if you could give me a hook/hack/whatever, so that I could see ALL groups (even the hidden ones) per example in my admin-backend (where the groups are anyhow).
Sorry, I am a copy-paste-try-to-changer, not a programmer…

Thanks alot already!
In reply to: No 404, Just ShowsFound something in the WPMU FOrums that fixed it temporarly for me: https://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/9458/page/2
In reply to: Unable to authorize groum membership requestsCreated a ticket: https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/943 (thakns for the searching, DJPAUL)
In reply to: Unable to authorize groum membership requestsI have something similar… When I try to click on the “accept-link” in a group-request-email I get the error message in the browser “do you really want to do this” – with no option to click something…
Strange… This error occurs in IE7.0, Firefox 3.5 and Safari.
Ps: If I go there through the group-admin-menu, I can accept the requests…
(maybe something linked to this is, that I cannot upload a group-avatar from group-admin – same strange error-message… but here only in IE?)
Thanks for help!
In reply to: Remove Create a Blog option from signupWe made that little hack in a little plugin (might work in bp-custom.php):
// Clear "give me a blog" default option
add_action('signup_hidden_fields', 'my_signup_hidden_fields');
function my_signup_hidden_fields() {
?><style>div#blog-or-username {display:none;}</style>
<script>
jQuery(window).load(function () {
// Don't request blog
jQuery('#signupblog')[0].checked=false;
// Request user
jQuery('#signupuser')[0].checked=true;
});
</script><?php
}Hope it helps!
Ps: Looking forward to much easier 1.1
In reply to: How to add user avatar to activity excerpts@Marius: You are my HERO!!! Works like a charm! and – yes, now I’m understanding also a little bit more, how stuff like that could work (as a non programmer…)
THANKS ALOT!
In reply to: No 404, Just ShowsSorry, to pick that thread up again… But the problem pierce2 was mentioning is exactly mine… I am running on a subdirectories install and that seems to be the problem (because in another subdomain-install) it just works fine…).
So – has anyone a solution to this, because it’s not very good for google, if dead links point to a non existing blank-content-page…
THANKS!
In reply to: How to add user avatar to activity excerptsWOW – great!!! That was what I was searching for!
Can you tell me, how to implement that in my Custom-Friends-Activity?
(I am using this to get the friends activity for logged in users to the start-page)
<?php if ( bp_has_activities('type=friends&user_id='.$user_ID.'&per_page=10&max=10&timeframe=-4 Weeks') ) : ?>
<div class="activity-list">
<ul id="activity-list">
<?php while ( bp_activities() ) : bp_the_activity(); ?>
<li class="<?php bp_activity_css_class() ?>">
<?php bp_activity_content() ?>
</li>
<?php endwhile; ?>
</ul>
</div>Would be great – thanks!
In reply to: site wide activity + avatarIs there really no possibility to do that? I tried to figure it out – but had no luck. Any of the gurus have a solution to this (I don’t want to wait until it is in the core…)

THANKS!
In reply to: Widgets not place in root do not work correctlyI ALready created a ticket (although my english is bad and I not enough of a programmer to narrow down the problem…):
In reply to: Group message-mail not sendingTHANKS DJPAUL – great! Now it works!
Yes – the personal wire works for me now too (maybe version 1.0.3?)
In reply to: 1.0.3 > Site Wide Activity widget not translatingI would say, that all the Widgets are not translatable anymore…
In reply to: Wire e-mail notificationsThe Prob is, I really don’t want to wait until Version 1.1 with this fix. Anyone (Andy???) having an idea how to fix this issue temporarly?
In reply to: Wire e-mail notificationsOk, I created a ticket: https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/837
In reply to: Wire e-mail notificationsMe too, see here…: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/group-message-mail-not-sending
This is very bad! Any of the gurus having a solution/answer for this?
In reply to: Group message-mail not sendingPlease – any idea on this. I tried it on two different installs. One standard, one custom. Both don’t work. The rest of the messaging (messages, notifications etc) seem to work just fine. It’s just the wire-group-notification that doesn’t work anymore…
Thanx to all the gurus out there!
Ps: Please try if yours works
Ps2: Should i open a ticket?
