You load that file as well
create file in your plugins folder called bp-custom.php then add the following code:
<?php
if ( file_exists( WP_PLUGIN_DIR . '/buddypress//bp-languages/buddypress-en_UK.mo' ) ) {load_textdomain( 'buddypress', WP_PLUGIN_DIR . '/buddypress//bp-languages/buddypress-en_UK.mo' );
}
?>
In reply to: Displaying JSON or XML to widgetDo you want the data outputted or just a link? This isn’t really a BuddyPress issue.
In reply to: BuddyPress Share It button liveTry step 3 http://www.buddyboss.com/how-to-edit-pomo-language-files-in-buddypress-plugins/
You also need to have both the same BP language file and the WP language file.
https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_LanguageIn reply to: BuddyPress Share It button live@janismo Just updated the plugin in the repo and added localization to the share button.
@el_terko what ever language you use for your BP install then the mobile theme will use that too.
In reply to: Displaying Posts from a Certain categoryTo add to what @hnla stated, if it’s about anything you can do before you add BP plugin then try searching on https://codex.wordpress.org/ or just google your question. There is more info out there about WP than you could read in a month.
In reply to: Displaying Posts from a Certain categoryFind this:
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
Then put this right above and change the cat name to the cat you want shown:
<?php query_posts('&category_name=featured&showposts=10'); ?>
@el_terko you can view the progress here http://dev.go-themes.com/
In reply to: Converting a Theme for BP CompatibilityJust create the links in your menu. url.com/activity
go into the file members/index.php find the code near the top that is an h3 put this right below and save
<p>Please insert a name of a city to search a inhabitant of a city.</p>
In reply to: How do I force a login?Are you trying to close your sight off to all except logged in users?
if (!is_user_logged_in() ){
bp_core_redirect( $bp->root_domain.’/register’ );
}In reply to: How to add new Group CategoryThere isn’t a plugin for this but the groups tag plugin kinda adds this functionality. You basically choose tags for groups and it gives you a tag cloud. If you only allow specific tags to show you can control what groups there are.
I may fork the tags plugin into a real groups type plugin.
BuddyPress adds extended profiles and groups to a WordPress install. What you want is doable but it wouldn’t be out of the box. You’d have to do some customization.
In reply to: Tasty Kitchen Member Privacy@jeffsayre has a privacy plugin due out soon.
In reply to: Front end postinggravity forms is a paid plugin but it’s good.
In reply to: New BuddyPress for WordPress 3.1?I pretty sure 1.3 will use the WP menu
Code is a mess. needs to be reformatted for better reading. Something is missing like a div. Look at line 53: < p class="postmetadata
Seems to be missing a closing /p tag
In reply to: The wire won’t update…Is it a separate install or a blog on a wordpress multisite?
change your CSS on #nav-example to width: 1020px;
It’s too wide make the page scroll right
This archive file has been hacked with another post loop and that loop is outside the content div. So, the posts on the second loop are spanning the width of the page pushing sidebar down. The code in the pastebin does not match the code on your website.
In reply to: Any successful Buddypress site?Compared to what facebook? Nobody will ever reach what facebook has achieved. And really who would want to? I have a few close friends on FB but could careless what the other users are doing. BuddyPress is more to create groups of interest. That’s it’s power over FB. Also you can control the experience, FB is generic.
Cache db requests and you can host static files on a CDN. Using a light theme as well helps. Use browser dev tools to test bottle necks in speed.
In reply to: Buddypress free child themes not workingJust a heads up. Most of the child themes probably wont work 100% with 1.2.7 version of BP because the default theme is missing things the child themes rely on and the theme reviewers in the WP repo are rejecting child themes because BP default is considered broken on their end.
If BP-default was added as a theme to the WP repo and not a via a plugin it would not pass the theme reviewers. But, theme reviewers test child themes based on this theme thats bundled with a plugin.
Hopefully the default theme gets fixed by the next version.
In reply to: The wire won’t update…BuddyPress has no wire, is it a plugin or are you referring to the activity stream?
