for the guest side of things, as you know, no bar in WP 3.1 alone, and BP is providing a default one… here is the merge:

andfor the member’s adminbar, a merge too:

…nothing fancy, but that’s the first step here, options are made, will add them by the evening.
@Boone Gorges, sorry, you misunderstood… rofl… the crapping trac is me… i’m sure i will break something if i use that system… so instead of breaking something i offer my work, simply… lol i know what is the commuity, i’m within WP since day one.. lol and i broke things more often than needed, i can tell you.
yeah, the first version of the plugin is already done, it’s simply replacing the adminbar call inside BP with my version, no hardcoding edits to do…
ok, so you tell us that you’re using the Auto-Install-Wordpress from your host? … like hostgator offers…
forget that, you have two choices then: keep everything like generated by the installer, or drop everything and install WP on your own, entirely… you can’t do a thing else than that. no need to explain.
Oh sure it was NOT you… i found who it was… more like a joke than anything, but seriously, sometimes, people think we all do everything for free… *(they don’t know who is paid working on this anyway)
so, that’s it… i’m done with the adminbar, i’ll do the widget and may release it in the next day …
i would say a plugin that requires hardcoded access, or a latent script that is set to the old setup…
hum, i received some comment by email telling me i’m cheap to not deliver the code in the trac… come on kid, not even able to post with a public email… tssss
the guys here knows me, i’m not new here, and i’m quite open to working with them… but instead of crapping the trac, i let the stuff available, and the coders can handle the work on their own way. my work is an alternate adminbar, not a simple tweak, as the old one is html based and my version follow the 3.1 protocol with the right functions ($wp_admin_bar->add_menu)…
anyway…

features added:
1- activation of the “guests” adminbar, which show the login and register link link in the basic BP setup — disabled by WP 3.1, it shows anyway if we need it.
2- options panel to activate #1 or more options, like the random links
3- widget to move the adminbar to a widget in the location of your choicebecause it’s not a patch, and i’m not using the trac… if the guys want it, they can ask…
@pcwriter … my goal is not to use the original adminbar, but to integrate the whole content of the BP-adminbar into the original WP-adminbar instead of replacing it… making it more compatible with 3.1…
btw, i did it… will release it on my site for support… until BP do the same!
btw, half way done already… adding a action and generated the proper elements, adding everything in a new plugin. took me 10 minutes.
did you activate the creation of blogs??
that’s something i was planning to do in the next weeks, as i’m willing to explore things facebook was unable to provide efficiently… rofl
hum, do you know what is the usage of z-index?!… not related to where the things are going or the interaction with other parts of the site… http://www.w3schools.com/Css/pr_pos_z-index.asp stack does not mean push others below.
you need to manage the margin of your #header and give it a !important; to make it fit with your adminbar.
the more you try to get this one alive, the more you kill it on your own.
no answer mean no solution YET…
the activity means someone who is active on the site… registrations have to be complete before being considered active… this is to avoid spam bots to be considered active on the site… so when the new members visit the site back and “do” something, they are tracked by the actvity stream.
if you need shorter urls, WRITE SHORTER PAGE TITLES….
+1 on stwc’ rant!
this is related to the activity… that 7th user still need to “be active” on the site to have its name in the list… that occurs when people register and leave without loading another page.
the plugin you’re talking about is just of no use at all… people always panic when they read the word virus… so some people try to fool others by releasing “anti-virus” scripts that do nothing and can even provide a leak to security.
if you share files, programs, games etc, i suggest you use a files manager that contain an anti-virus like symantec… other than that would be useless, as the goal of server-side anti-virus is to decompress the files shared, check for viruses and recompress the files and store them securely…
a blog is not a good place for viruses… virus are programs that spread in action, they are not words you read in a text…
oh so amazing… thanks!!!
i’ll test and play with it all week-end!
with all due respect:
Some people tell me I’m smart, but I rarely believe them, so its very possible I’ve missed something obvious.
… don’t tell people say you’re smart, it’s the wrong way to proove you are. This project is 2 years old and most of the privacy system is already on the road for the next days… at the opposite of the track, check at Facebook and see how much time it took them to add privacy features… 5 years. and they were paid millions to do so, and forced by federal governments…
on this side of things, we have a solo guy who is doing it with the help of some volunteers that have more dedication to the work than the team of 50 that are paid by facebook…
so the smart, please consider yourself less selfish in your ways, please.
i know it is doable @r-a-y, i did it already…
the point is a suggestion… rofl
would be amazing if simply put as a popup… we click the activity and a popup show the content of it…
i have the same problem… it’s default to the original theme, and as i add a block of widgets just above the footer, the look is horrible… ;(
just a note, nick.. .stop bumping your own posts after 2 minutes, they will not gain in popularity, they will just gain you some kick.
this is a good suggestion for a plugin, having chained selections is good… http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex16/chainedselects/index.htm and can be applied to a form if well built… you need a new interface for the custom fields to do so.
now the french translation works well, no more bug with it… *(thanks Chouf1)
