ah ok i understand your problem,

you’ve made new themes (member/home) or not updated, copy the bp hooks and function contained in the current svn in the functions.php of the member theme & home one to your functions.phps

You could use my plugin as andy said and add/remove filters you want

Asap i’ll add a prebuilt fields to load videos/ images or js code

You could do that making the $args an array that contains values that have to be extracted, for example $before_widget that is in the code has to be

$args = ‘<div class=”my_class”>’;

$args = ‘</div>’;

$args = ‘<h2>’;

$args = ‘</h2>’;

and us $args in the function like bp_widget_you_want( $args )

dont touch the code!

Hacking the code is the last thing that you’ve to do with bp

(I’m from mobile now, so i cant see it now) I’m sure that posts excerpts or forums ones have a filter, use them!

after you’ve found the filter, use it writing a function to cut text, as i’ve done for forums and add that as filter.

why are you using

add_action( ‘groups_new_form_topic_post’..

the error is in add_action the hook to use is ‘groups_new_forum_topic_post’ not ‘groups_new_form_topic_post’

the 4th parameter in this case i needed, because you’ve to declare how many parameters can be used

don’t use global $group_obj!

function my_function() {

global $group_obj;

}

if the plugin is not in mu-plugins it will not work…

must be

add_action( ‘groups_new_form_topic_post’, ‘my_notification_new_post’, 1,2 );

1 is the priority

2 are the parametres
