I suggested this to BuddyPress Profile Privacy’s Jeff Farthing. A “let admin decide” option could have a radio button field for verified and unverified. I wish it would be available in a new update.
Thank you very much @hnla and @rogercoathup
Ah sweet. We’ll look forward to using it. Thank you.
Hmm, a few pages don’t load… like going to Settings and a couple plugins. Should https be excluded for certain paths (like plugins) or do plugins need to be reminded to go https if that’s how the site will go?
@modemlooper , is there a way to host the BuddyPress Tweet Button image from my server? It doesn’t seem to cooperate well under forced https. http://i38.tinypic.com/igytso.png
Thank you.
@kunalb @hnla I was getting the same 294 error as @markhahnel with the 0.1 from the website.
@kunalb the bleeding version you sent me took down my site and gave me an error: “Fatal error: Cannot access empty property in /wp-content/plugins/bp_custom_posts/themes/tags.php on line 9” …So I uninstalled it. I can hang out til the new update this weekend. I’m excited to help out in any way or use it with my test users. Keep up the great work.
All,
Thank you for your support! @johnjamesjacoby thank you for your prompt response and adding it to the future release

But you’d have to buy the subscription to know that!
Well, it’s good to know this forum is the best value and won’t bait-and-switch any users.@mrmaz I haven’t installed the beta but have you streamlined the categories? RE: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-links/forum/topic/categories-on-new-line-instead-of-smushing-together-in-one-paragraph/
Thanks.
Yeah, but the forum requires a re-up on subscription. Tough community over there I guess.
Open source and the buddypress forum is the way to go

Awesome! Thank you very much @hnla
@kunalb @johnjamesjacoby I get this error message in the wp admin side:”The plugin generated 294 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice ‘headers already sent’ messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.” … I did but it keeps occurring.
Also, it pushes my “Jooc” theme header down when I click on the Events link: http://i34.tinypic.com/15dnmnb.png and the word “Called” appears in the upper left of the screen. Anyone know how I can overcome this minor issue? Thanks. If I overcome this I’ll use it on my live site!

Are you asking if there is a way to have a user’s friends only available to him or her? Adult dating sites and consulting groups/companies find the end users like a layer of privacy that doesn’t let site users see their friend connections. I dont know if it can be done in buddypress.
You could go line by line through the theme to remove pages that display friends, but I’ve never tried to see if it would work.
@LPH2005 I find it does the job. If you have a smell or medium community it works well. I’m not sure if a future version will allow you to sort the groups or check sets of groups.
Correct. Sorry for the confusion.
It’s… working… I think. It feels very buggy. The date/time field is demanding. If I don’t get it correct I lose all information entered. A popup calendar would be nice. There’s no way to specify AM/PM (or indicate that time must be in 24hr format). The event classification as an open text box leaves me (and probably users) puzzled about what to put there. I also get a lot of “Warning: _() expects exactly 1 parameter, 2 given in…” errors.
Has anyone else had this experience or know of a workaround? Thanks.
@LPH2005 … I see your point. It would be helpful to have Courseware hidden from groups unless they opt-in to using the plugin.
Thank you. “0.1” might have confused buddypress.
I got it to install… and WOW this is going to be extremely helpful and fun to use!! Thank you very much!!

The first echo worked perfectly! Thank you very much for your help.
I did. I’ll give it another try this afternoon to see if it will work.
There seems to be some sort of error. The badge preview is only a broken image icon. Has anyone else had this issue?
Did you get lucky? I’m not able to have the plugin work. I’ll see the admin settings but when I made updates I get errors on several lines. On the front end, I only see the link to it, however, when I click it, I’m pointed back to my homepage.
I’m sorry but I I’m unable to install the plugin. It doesn’t seem to be a plugin… buddypress doesn’t recognize it at all. Any help?
I tried to reinstall the plugin but the triplicate issue still exists. If you have any suggestions let me know. For know I’ll delete the 2/3 that is extra. Thanks.
Agreed. I’m not keen on having a purple isosceles triangle for my avatar on Buddypress.
I’m not sure if this is the option, but in the WP admin panel, go to Settings > Discussion. Try changing the default avatar radio buttons at the bottom of the page to Mystery Man or None. Hope this helps.
