Oh man, changing the persmissions to 777 makes everything work again.. but.. man.. i really dont wanna have that directory as 777
The Plugin I was trying out is Buddpress Links
..and, yeah I deactivated it.. but it didnt help the situation.
Crap.. now all file permissions are BORKED!
I cant upload any file:
1) Via Media Library (Add New) *stopped working
2) Via the Avatar upload image of Buddpress Link area * Doesnt work
3) Via creating a new post.
/BLOGS.DIR/ is owned by APACHE in the APACHE group with these permissions rwx r-x r-x
Follow up question
Am I suppose to create a directory inside WP-CONTENT/BLOGS.DIR/1/FILES/
and is that directory suppose to be called /LINK-AVATARS/
****
Im getting an error when uploading an avatar.
Upload Failed! Error was: Unable to create directory /httpdocs/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/link-avatars/3. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
on my site.. http://porscheheritage.com the links are displayed not in a list..

Hey there guys!
WPMU 2.8.6 + BP 1.1.2
1) Its breaking the formatting on my site
2) Can I specify a different directory to upload the avatars?
simplelife looks like an easy one to work on… ugh.. this sucks…
I just installed BuddyPress Links and It would be interesting to see if it can be hacked together and modified so that it can be an aggregator
any thoughts dudes?
BP-DEV guy “Nicola” has something like this “aggregator” but I think its broken at the moment.
its a good idea though!
I use WP-O-Matic instead of FeedWordpress it has some pretty advanced features — a cool feature it has is REGEX so you can do some fancy rewriting of a feed and relinking.
(*just a thought)
Just splendid!
I needed this!
LOL
roger that!
still very excited to get BP1.2 in my hands.. besides Nicola says that his aggregator plugin will work on BP1.2 \
woot woot
@Bpisimone , et, all..
i love the default answer of: “its not a BP issue, its a wp or wpmu issue” — i see that thrown around here way too often.
first, –i get it.. “..its outside the scope…” but the default.. “go elsewhere” as an answer just makes me cringe..
second, — please consider that.. to many enduser-installers (not a developer)of BP.. such as myself… to us, BP is the main product and NOT just a plugin. –and WP/WPMU is just an afterthought…
thanks…
When do expect to release BP.1.2 ?
Oh Boy.. Cant wait to install this bad boy!
I just checked out Status.net it looks very mature and full featured.. too bad though that the requirements are pretty steep.. I hate upgrading my PHP
Gotta tell you though… NOSERUB has the WORST Installation process… just terrible…
It would be cool. If my users just sign up on my buddypress+WPMU+NoseRub install and there profiles get the benefit of “aggregated” content..
But Frankly, theres a lot of duplication in feature set…
…though.. it would be cool…
Yeah.. Its possible.. BPDEV use to have a plugin but I think its broken on BP.1.1.2 — I messaged Nicola (the lead evil-genius behind it) and he says that it should be good to go on the release of BP1.2 (currently BP is on BP.1.1.3) — he’ll be working on it on Christmas!
Go Shedmore!
My Stream still is polluted with the first post that was detected by the plugin.. so it says 150 Post.. most are by me, and all of them are the initial post that was detected by the plugin..
*strangely, the twitter icon that was there on the navigation (left side) was once there, and now its not
Roger that!
Ok, I’ve installed it and the problem is:
my Twitter post shows up 150x times!

wpmu 2.5.8.2
Installing this bad boy now!
By the way… is there a video anywere of your presentation?
<high five> thanks for great work!
heh.. nevermind.. I gave it a whirl.. pretty cool!
Hi Guys,
Is this intended to be a theme for my main site? meaning.. for my buddypress site… though, i realize the obvious answer is “it could be” – can it be a substitue for my current “bp-default” (buddypress child theme)
