    Jeff, are you going to release it as an external plugin before it will be taken to core or not? Keep up the great work btw! :D

    Hi,

    well, it seems to work here and on the test drive, so it must be my end. I have loaded the default theme as a base and only changed the css settings. I am now using BP 1.1.1.

    Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

    Hi,

    how does the plugin work with BP 1.1? I have intergrated bbpress into wpmu, but the buddy bar won’t show up. Any suggestions?

    Oh, forgot to mention, same applies for “delete notice”.

    I think John’s idea is the best solution for now. I’ll do it that way. :)

    But login name is not the same as display name? Like in my case as an admin, my login name is admin. My display name is visible around the site, but not in the link title, which sucks.

    gerikg, I’ve done that, the cookiehash is in wp-config.php only.

    Are you talking about these ones…

    define( 'BB_AUTH_KEY', 'a85018... or these?

    define( 'COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.mysite.com' );
    define( 'SITECOOKIEPATH', '/' );
    define( 'COOKIEPATH', '/' );

    Both taken from my bb-config.php.

    P. S. forgot to say, I got the 2nd part in my wp-config.php too, with this line above it:

    define( 'COOKIEHASH', 'c9ablaaaaah.' );

    BBpress 1.0.3, WPMU 2.8.4a, BP 1.0.3.

    So if my intergration won’t work, what should I do next? AFAIK it needs all these keys and I took those I had on my wp-config.php. I’ve done a few things after that, I need to find that tutorial again. ;)

    Yeah, I’ve done that, I copied the ones I have in my wp-config.php to bb-config.php and added BB_ on each of them. Is that what you meant? That was the only way I know to set this up.

    Bpisimone, I think what you meant was discussed in another topic, I was writing about editing images from 3 different directories to adjust my design, which can become a bit annoying when upgrading.

    In this topic it’s about making the forums look the same like the rest of the site, including buddybar (this one is already working on the bbpress default theme), header, navigataion and footer. Or did I get something wrong? ;)

    Hey there,

    I have found sort of a solution that works for me. I needed two Plugins for bbpress:

    https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/105

    http://www.adityanaik.com/projects/plugins/bb-private-forums/

    You can set which forum is visible to who. Glad I found those. :)

    Cheers,

    It must be possible somehow, b/c these forums here are integrated the same way. It is still stand-alone, but looking the same like the rest of this site. Please guys, tell us your secret. :D

    The equivalent to wp-config is bb-config in your bbpress/ folder. I do have a path to my wp-blog-header.php, but that was for put the buddybar on top of the forums. I also have experimented with ThemePress, a theme that’s supposed to load your header and footer, but it all looks messy and won’t show the buddybar, or the link to the forums in my nav.

    Any other ideas would be welcome.

    I would like to know how to solve this too! I haven’t found any plugin for bbpress yet.

    Ok, I sort of “solved” the problem by editing the message in /buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-signup.php. I wrote that registrations are disabled and added a link to the application form. It’s quick and dirty, but works for now ;)

    These were also uploaded in bphome/bpmember before, but were not generated. Therefore, I had to overwrite the following images in /buddypress/bp-core/images:

    view_button_side

    remove_friend_button

    add_friend_button

    admin_bar_logo

    There was another file called something like info_icon… I had to edit this in some other core folder but I don’t remember which one.

    For me, it would be more than two languages. ;) But how about something like a theme switcher? At least for blogs you could edit your template files in the preferred language and let ppl choose.

    I’d be interested in that too. My community is international, although English is common, some ppl still seem to be scared off. Would be cool when ppl can set their preferred language in their profile.

    Sure, editing (core) files isn’t for everyone, and it makes it difficult to administrate after the whole thingy gets updated.

    Will you announce your plugin in this thread also?

    I found a plugin that lets users change privacy setting in their profile. It has effect on the profile fields. Users can make their content viewable for themselves, friends or everyone. Here’s the link: http://devbox.computec.de/2009/06/buddypress-xprofile-privacy-plugin/

    Hi Jeff,

    if it won’t be a core feature yet, will you provide it as a plugin at least? That would let me solve my problem until it’s going to be in some next major release.
