In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.
This is an issue with my plugin and I’ve just fixed it!
In reply to: Fatal Error when trying to Delete UserIt’s already up

https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2479In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name. This appears to be a problem with my BP Usernames Only plugin.
Looking into it.The bb-attachments table wasn’t created properly.
I remember this bug when it was a bbPress plugin. You’ll have to manually create the table yourself in PHPMyAdmin (hopefully you have access to that!).
Here’s a post on the bbpress forums with the SQL query you need:

That would work as well!
Though, you’d have to grab the excerpt either through a DB query or some WP functions (I suggest the DB query only if you’re using Multisite). In reply to: Display latest forum topics in a blogMake sure BP is activated sitewide.
Then use a forums loop:
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/custom-buddypress-loops/the-forum-topics-loop/Isn’t it possible to grab the excerpt based on &$post?
$post->post_excerpt.Sample code:

[EDIT]
I see what you guys are talking about now with bp_create_excerpt()!You can either request an additional parameter for unfiltered text in the “bp_blogs_record_activity_content” filter or in the “bp_create_excerpt” filter.
Definitely a good idea for a patch! In reply to: Is WP Supercache okay to use with BP?Check out Amazon’s S3 site for pricing and details:
http://aws.amazon.com/s3/#pricingW3 Total Cache is very powerful; implementing a CDN is just one of the features.
@nit3watch – You have to remove the following hook:
add_action( 'bp_after_group_details_creation_step', 'gfield_add_field_form' );Also remove the conditional that Derek put in.
Here’s the updated code, no need to add any filters:
http://pastebin.com/JrEbHMsh@nit3watch – I need more sleep! I deleted the previous posts to avoid confusion.
You don’t need a core hack!
Check out the revised code:

http://developersmind.com/2010/06/17/upgrading-wordpress-mu-2-9-2-to-wordpress-3-0/For the other people in this thread, the above might help, but might not depending on your use case.
Ahh I see, so it was my fault from a previous thread!

Got to watch my typing!
@nit3watch – It looks like you’re only hooking into the save action after the group is created.
Try adding another save action with “groups_create_group_step_save_group-details”:
add_action( 'groups_create_group_step_save_group-details', 'gfield_save_field' );See if that works.
In reply to: Email loginYes, same as Facebook.
In reply to: Removing Groups From Forums@alanchrishughes – Here’s such a tutorial to integrate WordPress and standalone bbPress:

In reply to: Should I use BuddyPress? If you’re just looking for an easy-to-integrate forum for WordPress, try Simple:Press.
If you want to integrate a standalone forum into WordPress, try out bbPress. To find out if BuddyPress is for you, try out BuddyPress over on the test installation site – http://testbp.org.
Although BuddyPress does have some forum functionality, it is not a dedicated forum script!Hope that helps somewhat.
In reply to: Removing Groups From ForumsIf you’re looking for just a forum, install bbPress by itself and integrate your userbase from WP/BP.
If you’re looking for a one-click install of forums not attached to groups for BuddyPress, Brajesh Singh has a solution. I should note that I haven’t tested this myself since it’s a premium plugin, but you might be interested, which is why I’m listing it here.
In reply to: Forum ColorsIf you don’t like the forum link color and if you’re using Firefox, get the Stylish extension for Firefox and apply a different color for the links.
In reply to: Where Is The Code for The WP-Admin-Bar?If you simply want to add links to the BuddyBar, then hook into the “bp_adminbar_menus” action.
eg.
function my_custom_adminbar_links() { echo '<li>Pretend this is a link!</li>'; } add_action( 'bp_adminbar_menus', 'my_custom_adminbar_links' );Put this snippet somewhere in your theme’s functions.php.
@romik84 – I saw your post on here:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/415399I haven’t looked too far into this, but there doesn’t appear to be a “wpmu_new_blog” filter:
add_filter('wpmu_new_blog', array(&$cets_wpmubt, 'set_new_blog_topic'), 101);However, there is an action called “wpmu_new_blog”, maybe that is what the plugin author meant?
add_action('wpmu_new_blog', array(&$cets_wpmubt, 'set_new_blog_topic'), 101);In reply to: how to change settings page template@hnla – The cool thing about child themes is you can move templates around wherever you want! Just make sure you change the pointer to that file!
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.2.5 On Time?Probably not. The deadline is more of a moving target; it’s something the core dev team strives for, but won’t necessarily hit.
