https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_NetworkIn reply to: Home Page Forced To Activity PageRevert all functions.php mods you made.
Login to the WP backend, navigate to “Settings > Reading”.
Make sure under “Front page displays” that “Your Latest Posts” is selected.

In reply to: multiple issues please help1) I’m able to register and see my newly-created profile on your website. Your users have to activate their account via email before logging in.
2) Did you setup the Buddypress forums correctly under the “Buddypress > Forums Setup” menu in the WP admin area?
3) Make sure your wp-content/uploads directory has the right permissions. Check out this article for more info:

2) It sounds like you’re using regular WordPress. Your users will need to be setup with the default role of “Contributor” or higher. You can set this on the “Settings > General” page in the WordPress admin area:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_General_SubPanelThen you can try installing a front-end posting plugin. Read this thread for more details:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/304606In reply to: Activation email is not sent from ’Dashboard Site’Do you have BuddyPress activated network-wide?
If you activated BP network-wide, when you attempt to register from a subdomain, what is supposed to happen is you get redirected to BuddyPress’ register page.
When you upgraded did you deactivate any running BP plugins?
If your entire site went blank when you activated the bp-default theme, please check your error log to see what the culprit is.
If you don’t know how to do that, try this tutorial. In reply to: Buddypress and WP MultiSite? You should network activate BuddyPress.
This is so your user blogs can take advantage of BP functions. Most notably, the BuddyBar gets displayed at the top of each blog and your user avatars should use your BP one.
In reply to: Completely Re-naming The Groups ComponentCopy the .pot and rename it as .po.
Open the file in PoEdit and you should be golden! In reply to: Help Getting StartedHi Ky, glad you’re testing out BuddyPress!
You have to turn registration on.
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.Okay confirmed! Finally something to work with

Thanks Erich will look into it!
[EDIT]
v0.58 is out and hopefully addresses the unique identifier problem.
It’s not perfect, but it’ll do for now. Only tested on a multisite install, so there might be bugs with single WP… (yes I know I should have tested it on single WP!).In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name. It’s probably my plugin.
I’ve noticed some weird discrepancies when using the Usernames Only plugin between single WP and multisite as of late… something screwy is going on. Definitely worth looking into.
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name. Thanks for looking into this, @rossagrant.
However, I’m still not able to duplicate this. I’ll try this on a fresh install of single WP in a few hours.I’m currently using a multisite install on WP 3.0.
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.Yes I have the BP Follow plugin active and it’s working for me…
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name. Thanks for the extra info. Still can’t duplicate it though.
I’ll sift through any plugins or code snippets I might be using on top and see if I can duplicate it.
[EDIT]
Looking into your current steps. Will report back.[EDIT #2]
@rossagrant – Can’t duplicate this. Sorry! Are you using any caching plugins? In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.I’m logged in as admin and I do not experience this issue.
Can anyone else duplicate this?
A badge is so other users can use it on external websites.
It’s basically a self-promotion tool for their BP profile.Screenshots can be found here:
http://warutblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/buddypress-badge.htmlIn reply to: lower case letter error messagesSounds more like a browser problem than a plugin. Am wondering what plugin it was though?
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name. The version number is at 0.57.
Plugin checks are done every 12 hours (I believe). You can always do a manual overwrite.
In reply to: validate email on registrationYou have to activate your account via email by default!
It appears that you’re using the BP Disable Activation plugin or some other plugin that does something similar.
Can you confirm? In reply to: bp-forum attachment error in BP 1.2.5[EDIT]
Okay, glad you fixed it. Curious to know what options you were using for W3 Total Cache? In reply to: Duplicate Updates in Activity StreamMost definitely sounds like a plugin is interferring somewhere.
Are you sure you’ve disabled every single plugin? Or it could be custom code you have in your theme’s functions.php.In reply to: Members only site@crashutah – I actually prefer travel-junkie’s method; it’s cleaner:
