That is because you missed this line
add_filter("bp_page_title", "bpdev_blog_title",10,2);This should also be present in the bp-custom.php other wise no filtering of title will be done.
doh! I missed while modifying the bp_page_title
But the global line as
global $bp,$current_blog,$post;So the modified code for function looks like
function bpdev_blog_title($complete_title,$title_old)
{//hack page title for single article
global $bp,$current_blog,$post;
if ( bp_is_blog_page() ){
if ( is_single() ){
$title = __( $post->post_title, 'buddypress' );
if ( defined( 'BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG' ) ) {
$blog_title = get_blog_option( $current_blog->blog_id, 'blogname' );
} else {
$blog_title = get_blog_option( BP_ROOT_BLOG, 'blogname' );
}
return $blog_title . ' | ' . esc_attr( $title );
}
}
return $complete_title;
}Th plugin mentioned above is for wpmu in subdirectory install.
for your proble, here is a little hacked code of bp_page_title , It will rewrite the title of single article only.
put this code in bp-custom.php
add_filter("bp_page_title", "bpdev_blog_title",10,2);
function bpdev_blog_title($complete_title,$title_old)
{//hack page title for single article
global $bp,$current_blog;
if ( bp_is_blog_page() ){
if ( is_single() ){
$title = __( $post->post_title, 'buddypress' );
if ( defined( 'BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG' ) ) {
$blog_title = get_blog_option( $current_blog->blog_id, 'blogname' );
} else {
$blog_title = get_blog_option( BP_ROOT_BLOG, 'blogname' );
}
return $blog_title . ' | ' . esc_attr( $title );
}
}
return $complete_title;
}Edit: there was a small mistake, Edited to correct it
In reply to: How to get a user’s last update?hi Mark
You are most welcome. I am sorry I missed that and thought the second line will just work.
hmm, you can use this one though with the get_usermeta thing
$update=get_usermeta( $user_id, 'bp_latest_update' );
echo $update['content'];In reply to: Forum invisible on WPMU 2.9.1.1 and BudyPress 1.1I am the author of Cosmic Buddy.
I don’t see any issue with your install.
You seem to be a little bit confused by the forum notion in buddypress.
When you install forums inside buddypress, they are internally used by the groups. So you won’t have standalone forums(which you are expecting).
yes, when you create group, you can associate(enable) forum with that. Those will be available from the group only.
Yes, buddypress provides a forum directory, which lists the recent forum topics, As I see, It is on your site but since you have no forum topics in any groups, so it says your forum directory is empty.
try creating group, enable forum with that and see it.
It is actually a little bit differently handled in Buddypress(No standalone forum).
Hope, It helps
Thanks
Brajesh
In reply to: How to get a user’s last update?hi Mark, this has changed in bp 1.2
try this one
bp_activity_latest_update($user_id);Change the user Id with the user’s id whose last update you want.
btw, this should also work
$update=get_usermeta( $user_id, 'bp_latest_update' );
echo $update;Hope it helps.

In reply to: PHP Fatal error RC2 -> RC3haha, keeping up with the trunk teaches you everything

btw, the forum is always there, so I hope you will not have to worry about this in future
In reply to: PHP Fatal error RC2 -> RC3btw, anyone finding this problem may not have overridden their theme.
Just overwrite older bp-default with the packaged bp-default theme and this issue will not be there.
In reply to: PHP Fatal error RC2 -> RC3this has been changed
replace
bp_get_user_nav()with
bp_get_displayed_user_nav()and everything will be working.
In reply to: Is everthing encrypted?Nexia is right, but if you are worried about the revelation of password, then let me assure you, the passwords are hashed. So they will not be revealed. But still, the hacker will have access to all data.
In reply to: Disable Admin Bar on Selected Blogshi Ivan
try this one, put it into your bp-custom.php
function remove_bpadminbar(){
global $current_site;
if($current_site->blog_id!=BP_ROOT_BLOG) {
/*if current blog is not the one on which buddypress is activated*/
remove_action( 'wp_footer', 'bp_core_admin_bar', 8 );//remove buddypress admin bar
}
}
add_action("wp","remove_bpadminbar");This should work.

In reply to: IMPORTANT — Plugin Devs – Read thishi Ray
plugins_loaded is the standard action which gets called when all the active plugins’s source code is included(loaded) by wordpress, so It tells you that all the plugins are ready, and you can call your functions now.
The advantage of using “plugins_loaded” action is that, it is the first action hook which gets called after your(/all other active plugins source code is loaded by wordpress) , so You can be sure your code is called quiet before anything else happens.
Investigate wp-settings.php for more.
JJJ has proposed a nice solution with the bp_init action(just introduced in the r2472).
Because wordpress does not guarantees which plugin gets loaded first( it has something like, the plugins consisting of bare files are loaded first, the the plugins which are inside their own directory loaded alphabetically, AFAIK,It might have changed recently), So a plugin which is dependent on buddypress, will have many issues detecting bp is loaded or not.
So, JJJ’s solution helps there as all the buddypress methods which are called on plugins loaded action have priority less than default(less means higher priority), so if we hook to bp_init, we can be sure buddypress is loaded and you are still calling at the same action, I am already trying my hand with this, and it seems to be working,still testing though.
btw, if you have your plugins, which uses the hook “plugins_loaded” and has priority greater than 10, i.e 11 or anything else, you don’t need to worry about this change.
In reply to: IMPORTANT — Plugin Devs – Read thisIn the change sheet, I see you are calling this on “plugins_loaded” action, that too with default priority level, does that mean, we do not need setup globals/other things using “plugins_loaded” action in our plugins, and we have to stick with this “bp_init” action.
btw, It is a cool idea, I am going to test with the trunk, If it works, It will certainly help 3rd party plugin developers greatly

Edit: corrected a typo
In reply to: How To: Building BuddyPress 1.2 Themeshi Mercime
Andy Made it clear in Dev Chat, It is better for plugin authors to stick with the bp-default layout and keep the template in their own plugin directory, yes, we may check whether the theme has the template files for our plugin, if yes, load those template or fallback to plugins default template.
So, I think, now if a user is using default theme, developers will not require to move the plugin templates to theme directory.
In reply to: User-Blogs to have same design as testbp.org ?hi Eric
Yes, It is possible, but Unique header plugin handles it differently, It allows users to change Images on each individual posts page too.
Do you simply want the users to be able to change the header image for their blog not for individual articles page, if yes, I will look into it and remove some codes, that will make it happen.
But I think, perhaps the bp-default theme allows that too, not yet tested for individual blogs though.
In reply to: Move from WPMU to self hosted website1. yes, It works same as on wordpress.com, she can always start a new blog(if you have not put any restrictions.
2. Yes, they can move, they same way, you move from wordpress.com to selfhosted. Export the posts and move.
In reply to: Keep default bp theme but change main colorsYou are most welcome, and here is a good news, Andy has updated codex for a basic guide on how to build child theme.
Checkout here
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/how-to-building-buddypress-12-themes
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
In reply to: How To: Building BuddyPress 1.2 ThemesThanks Andy for the post. I hope I will help a lot of people looking for building child theme here.
In reply to: Keep default bp theme but change main colors@do77 , David’s method will save a lot when you will upgrade.
Now for your questions
1.No, You do not need to copy any file(because you want the same layout, so child theme inherits it from parent).
2. Create style.css, and put there the content as David has pointed(do not miss the parent tag and theme name in comments, wordpress uses this to recognize the theme)
3.yes, then you can use firebug to override it as you have already given an example
4.You may not need to do that, because you are not using any other files than css.
5, yes, but please read about wordpress child theme, that will help you in long run.
In reply to: Blogs Aren’t Working at All: Page Not FoundIs this a new Installation of mu, I mean, Mu is installed on your root domain http://mysportspress.com
or http://mysportspress.com/wordpress-mu/
If Mu is not on root domain, you may not use subdomain style blogs, In that case You will have to go for category style sub blogs.
If Mu is on root domain, follow what @Obuisson1976 has mentioned, or just create a wild card subdomain, (i.e. *) in your cpanel->subdomains.
That should make it work.
In reply to: User-Blogs to have same design as testbp.org ?You are most welcome Eric.
I think to keep the same style, you do not need to copy the css, just create a customs style.css and import the style sheet from bp-default/_inc/css/default.css to your child themes stylesheet, it will allow all the styles of bp-default to be applied to the child theme.
In reply to: User-Blogs to have same design as testbp.org ?ok, so create a child theme of bp-default theme with your header.php(which is a copy of default theme’s header.php but does not contain the social links rather simply blog pages).
rest should work fine.
