In reply to: Users Can’t Register (HUGE Emergency)
Have you got a link to the page?
In reply to: Users Can’t Register (HUGE Emergency)You mean when you deactivate Elementor the Register page content goes blank? How did you set up the page?
In reply to: Users Can’t Register (HUGE Emergency)Hi there,
First thing to try is to deactivate all other plugins apart from BuddyPress and see if that works.
Have you performed any customisations relating to the register form?
In reply to: Adding custom user specific content to profile bodyYou could try
bp_before_profile_field_contentandbp_after_profile_field_contentHave you tried deactivating all other plugins and using a default theme such as 2017?
In reply to: Activity Sitewide stream filter posts by categoryHi there,
Are you talking about a category assigned to a WordPress post? Or are you looking to assign categories to activity posts and filter on that?
In reply to: Rol in cover page of profileThe problem is that you are trying to run this on every page when it will only work on the user profile pages as bp_displayed_user_id() will only work on a user profile page. so you would need to add something like:
if ( ! bp_is_user_profile() ) { return; }In reply to: Add featured members into listHi there,
Have you tried https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-featured-members/ ? Seems a lot easier than trying to write your own plugin.
I’ve not seen a support thread involving bp-default in years, I generally recommend testing with a WordPress default theme such as 2019 or 2017. I’ve not seen anything to say you shouldn’t use it but I think if you do then you will be in an elite club.
I think in the first instance you’d probably need to ask the developers of ACEide to build in a mechanism to allow other roles to have access to the editor, there’s usually some way built in to change that.
You’d then thinking about how to integrate it into BuddyPress, such as enabling that post type to make a new activity entry on publication. You’d probably need to write a plugin for that as there’s quite a few features you might want to activate, such as notifications.
I can’t replicate your issue so it must be down to your environment or something else. You didn’t mention which WordPress Theme you are using, maybe it’s that?
In reply to: export data exports wrong messagesThat was a bit strange, I had a similar issue first test, not the same issue, and in my case it corrected itself on the second test.
Could you test your’s again? I’m thinking my issue was a one-off database glitch, maybe your’s is something similar?
Have you tested with your other plugins deactivated?
In reply to: BuddyPress – Friends RequestsI’m using the latest version of BuddyPress, version 4.2. What plugin are you referring to when you say it’s version 1.3.3?
In reply to: export data exports wrong messagesHi there,
I can confirm this is an issue, could you raise a bug report on Trac?
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/
Thanks
In reply to: Share activity…In reply to: create new create group tab1. set up a child theme.
2. inside the childtheme directory there will be a functions.php file.
3. place your custom code in there. In reply to: create new create group tabYou should add customisations either in your themes function.php or in a bp-custom.php file placed in the plugins directory.
In reply to: create new create group tabno,
add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'groups_subnav_hook' );In reply to: Trouble with buddypress pagesIt’s difficult to say, BP pages should use the same header as any other page so I’m not aware of any reason why they should not support features such as a header with a background image.
In reply to: Profile fields not visible to everyone/other membersRegarding the menus, yes the Legacy menu tabs are horizontal only, there’s not a vertical option, but there is a way for you to get the profile images circular, that’s a simple css trick.
You can add this to your sites custom css in Customizer:
img.avatar { -webkit-border-radius: 50%; -moz-border-radius: 50%; -ms-border-radius: 50%; -o-border-radius: 50%; border-radius: 50%; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 0 #fff; -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 0 #fff; box-shadow: 0 1px 0 #fff; }In reply to: Profile fields not visible to everyone/other membersIf you check out my website you should see I’ve written a lot about the basics of BuddyPress, you should check it out, it should answer a lot of questions.
When you enable the BuddyPress Groups component you will be able to set up a Groups page, when this is viewed it will automatically show a Create Group link.
If you install bbPress you can enable group forums, that way your users get the option of addinga forum to their group.
In reply to: Profile fields not visible to everyone/other membersI’d first try switching your BuddyPress theme to BP Legacy in Settings>>BuddyPress>>Options. and see if the menu appears
In reply to: Profile fields not visible to everyone/other membersThe problem I could see with your site is that the main BP navigation for the members profile pages is missing. I manually input the address to the profile and I could see all the profile information.
In reply to: Profile fields not visible to everyone/other membersyou could email me at venutius at buddyuser.com
In reply to: Profile fields not visible to everyone/other membersI just need to view the profile page for now – no need for a login
