And you’ve set the visibility of this field to be visible to all?
Any chance of a screen shot?
Hi there,
Not sure if you are tracking this but we’ve been unable to replicate the issue. I rechecked my system and now I’m seeing the second group I created, for some reason I was ecpecting tabs but instead the second profile group info was displayed below the Base tab info.
In reply to: Copy buddypress files into child themeHi there,
That’s not a file you can overload, you can only overload files in the buddypress/bp-templates/bp-nouveau(bp-legacy)/buddypress directory.
In reply to: Change text strings on plugin activationLooking at it this would be a none trivial task, you’d need to replicate and modify the BP functions that create the button to include a check to see if the group is an announcement group and change the text accordingly. Possibly a simpler alternative would be to do some hacky Javascript that replaced the text on the fly, that would need to be specific to your site config.
Also, that plugin has not been updated in 6 years and it’s throwing errors so you’d need to fix those as well:
1. renaming of forums menu item to announcements no longer works.
2. Group directory additional text intefere’s with modern directory listings and I think should simply be removed. So there’s quite a bit of work required on that.
That’s odd, I’ll raise it for you and post the ticket here.
Yes if you raise the case you will be notified of it’s progress.
I’ve just looked at a test server and I’m getting the same issue. If I edit the profile I can see the extra tab and edit the profile fields it contains, but when I view the profile it only shows the Base profile group.
Would you mind rasing this as a bug on trac?
Thanks, have you overloaded any of the BP template files? located in themes/yourchildtheme/buddypress
You can chekc in Settings>>BuddyPress>>Options
So which theme are you using? BP Legacy or BP Nouveau?
So if I understand you correctly, you are not seeing another tab beside Base on the profile page. Which BP Theme are you using? does it fail with either BP theme?

In reply to: Change required fieldsHi there,
I’m not entirely certain what you are asking for. By default BuddyPress does not ask for physical addresses, have these been added to the users extended profile or are you referring to some other feature?
In reply to: /members/username is 301 redirect loopHave you added any custom functions or overloaded the members page/s. Does it do this with either BP Theme? Also, how about trying a different local server?
You should raise this as a feature request on BuddyPress Trac
In reply to: How to branch pagesYou’ve not explained what you are trying to do, presumably you are trying to display a message to the user that changes depending on the page visited. The question is, exactly where on the page you want to display the message.
Hi there, did you find a fix for this? It sounds like a theme related issue in that secondary pages would seem to be a feature of your theme. Did you check the page theme settings, sometimes themes install a meta-box that allows you to change the page format, this is usually on the right sidebar when you edit the page.
In reply to: Edit css /colors in BP ProfileHi there,
You could do it using the additional site CSS section of Customizer.
Have you found your browser console? Right-click the page and choose inspect Element. This will allow you to inspect the CSS used on the page, modify it on the fly in order to find the best CSS element to set the background color. For example something like this might do the trick:
.buddypress-wrap { background: black; }In reply to: Friendship List not accurateHi there,
You are going to have to troubleshoot this issue as it’s specific to your site and not something that’s a more general problem.
The first thing t do is to deactivate all plugins apart from BuddyPress and see if the friends lists are correct. If not then try a default theme such as 2016 to see if that corrects it.
It’s also worth turning on error logging in wp-config.php https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress
Once you have enabled debugging, any errors will be logged to your debug log, you can get error log viewer plugins to make viewing it easier. Try viewing the friends list and then reviewing the log to see if any errors are being generated.
Have you looked at https://wordpress.org/plugins/portfolio-manager-powered-by-behance/
In reply to: nouveau formatting is worse than legacy templateHi there,
It’s a bit difficult to know exactly what issue you are reporting. Does it do this with the other plugins deactivated and with a default theme? also, have you overloaded any of the BP pages? if so then those pages will need to be updated. Your theme may also be overloading pages and may need to be updated.
In reply to: Auto adding users to grpupsThat would need to be a feature of those plugins, or custom code I would have thought.
