In reply to: Base Profile Fields Error on Save Changes
When you had the profile shortcodes plugin activated, you got the fatal error that an undefined function was being called – bp_get_messages_slug, however this function does exist in any BuddyPress install that has messages enabled, so that error is pointing to a problem with your config – either something is stopping BP from loading correctly or messaging is not enabled. This pretty much points to other issues on your system which are messing with BP. Sometimes plugins throwing errors can provide useful insights into issues elsewhere in your install.
Yep that’s the idea
You can use a country blocker such as IP Geo Block
In reply to: Woocommerce breaks accept friend request buttonYou should raise this with WooCommerce support
In reply to: Change a users profile URLBy the way, it’s not a good idea to have an admin with a user name of admin, it’s the first target for hackers trying to guess your password.
In reply to: Change a users profile URLWhy not delete that user and create a new one?
In reply to: Profile Pages Getting 500 ErrorSorry we only supprt .org installs here, you will need to raise this with the .com team.
In reply to: Profile Pages Getting 500 ErrorDo you still get the errors with all other plugins deactivated and running the 2017 theme?
In reply to: Adapting BP to my needs: hooks, theme and templateThat’s right, to overload them copy them into your themes/child-theme/buddypress directory, maintaining the directory structure and you will be able to edit at your leishure.
In reply to: Adapting BP to my needs: hooks, theme and templateBP has a large number of files that can be overloaded by copying them to your child-theme directory, these are located in
plugins/buddypress/bp-nouveau (or bp-legacy) /buddypressfor one off builds it’s usually easiest to overload the template file you require. If the solution needs to be re-useable then it’s better to build a plugin and use filter and action hooks. Also some things you can’t do with Template files alone.In reply to: Error Deleting Profile Fields@arthur836 The same field names?
In reply to: Hide newly registered member pagesHere is a profile redirect script:
function bpfr_hide_admins_profile() { global $bp; if(bp_is_profile && $bp->displayed_user->id == 1 && $bp->loggedin_user->id != 1) : wp_redirect( home_url() ); exit; endif; } add_action( 'wp', 'bpfr_hide_admins_profile', 1 );This one redirects for user_id == 1, you could replace this with a function that checks the profile completeness.
In reply to: Hide newly registered member pagesThe complexity of this depends on exactly where you want to hide these users. an example is how to hide them from the members list page, ass follows:
function ritusing_members_loop_excludes( $retval ) { if ( bp_is_members_directory() ) { $excluded_users = array( 34,35,36); $retval['exclude'] = $excluded_users; } return $retval; } add_filter( 'bp_before_has_members_parse_args', 'ritusing_members_loop_excludes' );Obviously you would need to add code to select the excluded user list and turn it into a comma delimited list.
In reply to: RSS feed link returning XML codeWhich theme are you using? I don’t see an RSS feed in my group homepages. RSS is a form of XML, what I find is that some browsers will interpret it correctly and others don’t. Does it not display correctly in a feed widget or ?
In reply to: Rotating Profile Photos – Is it Possible?Difficult to say, it depends on whose available and the complexity, think they are pretty busy at the moment.
In reply to: Rotating Profile Photos – Is it Possible?I think it’d be ok to copy paste, no need to delete the post. In fact you could add the link to the completed request in the post so others looking for the feature can see what you’ve done.
In reply to: Rotating Profile Photos – Is it Possible?It’s not a feature, you could raise it as a feature request on trac
In reply to: @mention not working on group forums.Yep only in BP pages, unless another plugin has added support for it.
BP does not add social media icons, presumably you are using a plugin to do that? You should look to that plugins support for help.
In reply to: How to submit my code to buddypressI think you should raise a new feature request on Trac and add your code there.
In reply to: @mention not working on group forums.This link talks about adding the function to bbPress in the days bbPress did not support mentions, it culd help:
Add the New BuddyPress Mentions Interface to bbPress Forum Replies
In reply to: howto clone theme ‘nouveau’?I’ve just copied activity-loop into the theme/buddypress/activity directory and the overload works for me.
In reply to: @mention not working on group forums.You’d need to write code to enable it for specific plugins
In reply to: @mention not working on group forums.I think you would be better off raising the forums related question in the bbPress support forum, as it’s a feature of bbPress
In reply to: User request for cache plugin with buddypressWP Rocket is the better choice, there’s a known issue with W3 where it corrupts the change password process.
