In reply to: BP External Group RSS FEEDS: Thumbnail Images
One option would be to disable group avatars altogether maybe?
The other issue is that BP External Blogs has a big problem in group creation, it’s throwing a lot of errors now I’ve got it running. It’s won’t allow me to create a new group when it’s running.
In reply to: Advice on BuddyPress + bbPressHave you looked at Auto Group Join? also Registration Groups? These could help you do what you achieve. Auto Group Join includes a handy admin page where you can arrange who is in what group.
Hiding the Group Activity (Home) page is a bit more involved, but one option could be to simply disable activity?
In reply to: BP External Group RSS FEEDS: Thumbnail ImagesAh, I’ve just realised which group avatar you are talking about, not the one I was thinking. in my system I was getting a group avatar right beside the group name, scrap my code.
That’s a function of BuddyPress, not of BP External Group Blocgs I reckon, Every activity post in the group will get that, not just the RSS feed items.
In reply to: BP External Group RSS FEEDS: Thumbnail ImagesI’ve just tested it, works on my system
In reply to: BP External Group RSS FEEDS: Thumbnail ImagesThat’s strange, I don’t see an issue with the code, it certainly shuld be printing something.
In reply to: Work.A hidden field where?
In reply to: BP External Group RSS FEEDS: Thumbnail ImagesI don’t have a full answer, as I’m not entirely sure how the group avatar gets displayed using this code. But it’s line 226 of `includes/bp-groups-externalblogs.php that is creating the activity entry:
$activity_action = sprintf( __( 'Blog: %s from %s in the group %s', 'bp-groups-externalblogs' ), '<a class="feed-link" href="' . esc_attr( $post['link'] ) . '">' . esc_attr( $post['title'] ) . '</a>', '<a class="feed-author" href="' . esc_attr( $post['blogurl'] ) . '">' . attribute_escape( $post['blogname'] ) . '</a>', '<a href="' . bp_get_group_permalink( $group ) . '">' . attribute_escape( $group->name ) . '</a>' );My hacker workaround suggestion to you is to simply remove mention of the group, after all, if it’s being posted in the group activity, why mention the group at all, and this should remove the avatar too, as follows:
$activity_action = sprintf( __( 'Blog: %s from %s', 'bp-groups-externalblogs' ), '<a class="feed-link" href="' . esc_attr( $post['link'] ) . '">' . esc_attr( $post['title'] ) . '</a>', '<a class="feed-author" href="' . esc_attr( $post['blogurl'] ) . '">' . attribute_escape( $post['blogname'] ) . '</a>' );In reply to: BP External Group RSS FEEDS: Thumbnail ImagesDo you mean the group avatar?
In reply to: Users can’t register and they don’t show upThanks! Lets see if the boffins can figure it out.
In reply to: Problem with nouveauThere probably is, but I’d not recommend going down that route, especially on a live site. There’s an error, trying to force it to work like that is likely to create more errors.
In reply to: Users can’t register and they don’t show upAh, That’s an error I’ve been unable to fix, the test system I tried it out on I ended up completely reinstalling. I looked all over for what might be wrong but no joy, I think that it’s down to permalinks for the register page becoming corrupt.
I reported it on Trac here: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7744
Maybe you can add to the ticket?
In reply to: Problem with nouveauThere’s a few debug tools you can use but none of them is guaranteed to find the error, als they are likely to show up a bunch of errors you are not aware of.
First thing to do is turn on WP’s debugging, but it’s not recommended for highly active sites as it can cause performance issues. But if you want to try it you can put these lines in your wp-config.php:
define('WP_DEBUG', true); define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true); define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );Then you can try loading Query Monitor, this will add a highly detailed view of wht’s going on in your site, it will also highlight any errors it detects. Debug Bar is another one, though that’s really for JavaScript errors.
In reply to: Users can’t register and they don’t show upI take it you’ve done the usual and deactivated all other plugins apart from BuddyPress, switched to a default theme such as 2017?
In reply to: Users can’t register and they don’t show upNo, check out the BuddyPress Tools options in Admin>>Tools>>BuddyPress
In reply to: Error Deleting Profile FieldsWork for me, also it’s the type of issue where I’d be thinking “do I have a plugin that’s checking to see if those fields are there and recreating them every time I delete them?” since creating a specific profile field is not something built into the BP code.
So the first questin is have you tried deactivating all plugins and seeing if the issue is unchanged?
In reply to: Users can’t register and they don’t show upDid you try reinstalling the BP Emails? There’s been some recent issues with the activation email but upgrading on it’s own would not solve it.
In reply to: Problem with nouveauThis first step is to deactivate all other plugins apart from BuddyPress and see if that fixes it, second step would be to try a default these such as 2017.
In reply to: “Show Toolbar to visitor” Option does not workRuling out other plugins is the first stage in diagnosing any problem, given I can’t reproduce you error it would suggest something is different about your particular install.
In reply to: “Show Toolbar to visitor” Option does not workHi there,
The option works on my test system, have you ruled out other plugins and your theme? Since this is a generic WP feature other plugins often can affect whether it’s displayed.
In reply to: Buddypress n’envoie pas d’e-mails d’activationhave you re-installed the bp emails?
In reply to: Buddypress n’envoie pas d’e-mails d’activationThis is an English language support forum I’m afraid
In reply to: SiteOrigin PageBuilder compatible?Yep that’s Varun’s plugin, if you post on the plugin forum direct you should be ble to get support there, otherwise as I say Varun typically drops by around this time.
In reply to: SiteOrigin PageBuilder compatible?Found it, that one is supported by Varun, he normally looks in on this forum about this time. I’ve also got a shortcodes plugin BP Profile Shortcodes Extra, maybe it has some features you could use.
In reply to: SiteOrigin PageBuilder compatible?I’m afraid not, I meant a link to the BP Shortcodes plugin, I’ve not seen that one
In reply to: SiteOrigin PageBuilder compatible?you got a link?
