Have you tried setting the page to have no sidebars?
In reply to: Adding a ‘label’ to a custom profile pageWould you be looking to use an existing label or add a new one, which page?
In reply to: How to reinstall BPGo to Dashboard>>Settings>>Permalinks, just make sure the top option is not selected and press save.
In reply to: How to reinstall BPHave you tried resaving your permalink settings? That one sometimes catches people out.
In reply to: Edit profile does not workThat sounds like somehow there’s a redirect going on, I’d disable all plugins, see if it still did that, then check for bp-custom.php or any other customisations, such as functions.php, if that drew a blank I’d search for bp_core_redirect in my website, however that’s not the only function that could be used to effect a redirect like that.
In reply to: How to change the image of top sidebarAre these two completely separate sites or part of a multisite install? For two separate sites there’s not an off the peg solution, you’d need to write a plugin to sync uses accross the two platforms.
In reply to: do I need Buddypress ?It really depends what features you want for your site. WordPress already allows people to register and login to your site, BP just adds additional features such as extended profiles, friendships, groups, activity, forums etc.
In reply to: How to change “Submissions” component’s nameTo change the name of tabs etc you need to look into setting up a custom translation file. All the visible labels are able to be translated, so you can change them how you like.
You can use poedit to create your translation file and WPT Custom Mo File to install the translation onto your site.
Have you looked at BuddyBlog/Simple Front End Post from BuddyDev?
In reply to: Cyrillic in usernameBuddyPress uses the WordPress user database, so I think this is more of a general WordPress issue than one specific to BuddyPress in that if you removed BuddyPress and allowed user registrations to WordPress you would still be faced with the same issue.
You could raise this as a bug on BuddyPress Trac. but I think it’s probably WordPress that would need to change.
In reply to: BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 now available for testingI think you are going to have to try it out. If your themes are overloading the BP files you should note that some files no longer exist in nouveau and some have changed, this may affect the running of your theme if you switch to Nouveau, on the other hand some Nouveau features may not take effect unless your theme is updated. I just depends on what changes your theme has made to the default working of BP. I’d try it on a test server.
In reply to: bug field sending message other member!?Yep that field is to add additional users to the message.
In reply to: After uploading avatar, there is no button to saveHave you checked for plugin or theme conflicts?
In reply to: Does not show description in the User Profileactually, you can try adding the description page in the place I’ve suggested, it should display for 2017 and maybe your theme.
In reply to: Does not show description in the User ProfileI don’t think I can advise you. BuddyPress does not some built in with a personal description. You can add one, in Dashboard>>Users>>Profile Fields, and it would be displayed during signup and in the users Profile>>View page. However, that’s not the default landing page for a profile, so it looks like your theme is overloading the users profile, and I think your theme developers would be best placed to ask.
In reply to: Does not show description in the User ProfileIs that a field you’ve added? if so it may be an issue with your theme maybe? try switching to 2017 and see if you can see it then.
In reply to: problem button in the setting dashboardHave you checked such things as php version? I’ve never seen this problem before so not sure what to suggest. How is your site hosted?
In reply to: custom member directoryHave you checked out https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/loops-reference/the-members-loop/ ?
By the looks of things you would call the members loop and pass in your own args specifying the search terms.
In reply to: problem button in the setting dashboardChances are there is a conflict with either another plugin or your theme. Try it running just BuddyPress and a default theme such as 2017.
In reply to: How to change the image of top sidebarFor example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ag-custom-admin/
In reply to: How to change the image of top sidebarYep that’s the WordPress Admin Bar. The only BP setting that affects this is that you can hide the entire bar for non logged in users via Settings>>BuddyPress>>Options.
As I said there’s a lot of plugins that will help you style this bar, just search WP Plugins for admin bar and you will find them.
In reply to: Subscribe Button on Buddypress ProfileYou can take a look at https://codex.buddypress.org/emails/custom-emails/ and https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/function-examples/bp_notifications_add_notification/. technically all you need is to trigger them from either the post save hook
save_postor the follow creation hook, but putting this together is pretty complex, it’s not a first time project. In reply to: Subscribe Button on Buddypress ProfileSorry it’s not something I know a great deal about right now, I plan to look more into Follow, but I’m busy with other things at the moment.
In reply to: How to change the image of top sidebarDo you mean the WordPress Admin Bar? There’s a load of plugins that will help you customise that, including the logo. Unless you mean something else?
In reply to: member types and groupsHave you had a look at BuddyDev’s offerings for members types?
How to so see your ideal member type solution working? how will the new member be allocated their type? On sign up?
