I think you need to raise this with BuddyDev
In reply to: Disable Change Email Address? On my system it creates two Email menu items, one pointing to settings, the other pointing to settings/notificatons.
I think you should use one of those contacts, they need to know they have a problem.
In reply to: Disable Change Email Address?/take a look at this then:
function venutius_change_profile_settings_edit_tab() { if( bp_is_active( 'xprofile' ) ) : global $bp; $access = bp_core_can_edit_settings(); $slug = bp_get_settings_slug(); $args = array( 'parent_slug' => $slug, 'subnav_slug' => 'settings', 'screen_function' => 'bp_settings_screen_notification', 'user_has_access' => $access ); bp_core_new_nav_default( $args ); bp_core_remove_subnav_item( BP_SETTINGS_SLUG, 'general' ); // bp_core_remove_subnav_item( BP_SETTINGS_SLUG, 'notifications' ); bp_core_new_subnav_item( array( 'name' => __( 'Email' ), 'slug' => 'settings', 'parent_url' => $bp->displayed_user->domain . $slug.'/', 'parent_slug' => $slug, 'screen_function' => 'swapluisa', 'position' => 1, ) ); endif; } add_action( 'bp_actions', 'venutius_change_profile_settings_edit_tab' );This gives you two Email tabs, one is the original, one is the new one the way you want it. so long as the original one is there it works, but try uncommenting the code to remove the original tab, you get page not found on the settings page.
In reply to: Disable Change Email Address? From what I can see, /settings/ actually redirects to /settings/notifications if you redirect notifications to settings the page has nowhere to go and you get a page not found error.
In reply to: Registration not workingHave you tried turning on error logging and running Debug Bar and Query Monitor to see if you are getting any errors?
In reply to: Disable Change Email Address? So you’d want to remove it then add it again with the new setting, do you still want to call it email?
In reply to: Registration not workingYes it looks like something is interfering with the registration process, have you tried deactivating all plugins except BP?
In reply to: Disable Change Email Address?my concern is that by doing that you risk hiding the email notifications page from your members inadvertently.
In reply to: How to show only students in the right sidebar? Is the student sidebar widget a learndash add-on, or are you using the BuddyPress Members widget?
In reply to: extending visibility options beyond profile elementsI did thanks, fixed the issue you pointed out, you should have an update. Keep coming with bugs/suggestions please, the more it gets tested in the real world the better I can make it.
In reply to: Change wordsIn reply to: Adding a ‘label’ to a custom profile pageGreat! glad you sussed it.
In reply to: extending visibility options beyond profile elementsI’ve recently launched a plugin that would allow you to do that, it’s called BP Post Status and it provides posts statuses of friends only, group only, members only to members can set the visibility of their posts how they like. it works with CPT’s
In reply to: Disable Change Email Address? So it sounds like you’d want to remove it from the nav, and set your default landing page to be just settings?
In reply to: profile fields in the registration formDid you overload the registration page and edit that?
In reply to: Adding a ‘label’ to a custom profile pageSmall typo in your code, you did not close the div tag, also I note you don’t close the div. When a field has a name like field_821 I’d be worried that it was being dynamicaly incremented for each user/instance so may note be the same for all users. Other than that it’s difficult to suggest anything without seeing your setup direct.
<div><?php bp_field_css_class( 'editfield' ); ?>> <?php if ( 'field_821' == bp_get_the_profile_field_name() ) : ?> <p>My label here</p> <?php endif ?>In reply to: Members Loop Edits Not Taking EffectNot sure why that would be the case, have you tried making a more dramatic change to check your changes are definitely not taking effect?
In reply to: customize the activity insert formYou’d probably need to look at overloading the activity input form and edit it to achieve what you require. the source file is
plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/activity/post-form.phpthis should be copied tothemes/your-child-theme/buddypress/activity/post-form.phpand you can then edit that file. One warning though, BP is changing the way activities are entered with BP Nouveau so if you pln on using BP-Nouveau in future you may need to explore other alternatives.
In reply to: BuddyPress Profile Settings Modal WindowI can probably help you there, BP Profile Shortcodes Extra has a
[bpps_profile_link]shrtcode, you can use this point to any bp profile page for the viewing user. You can use theprofile_page="/profile/avatar"setting the achieve your need.In reply to: 404 on every page after installationThe other troubleshooting steps are as follows:
1. confirm the page that hold thebp content exist and are linked in Settings>>Buddypress>>pages.
2. Confirm it’s not a plugin conflict – deactivate all other plugins.
3. Confirm it’s not a theme conflict – switch to 2017 and test.In reply to: BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 now available for testingIt works on my test server, with 2016 theme, are you sure it’s not being caused by another plugin?
In reply to: BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 now available for testingRegarding 1. I’m not seeing your issue on my test system, but that does not mean it’s not an issue.
What theme are you using?
Regarding issue 2, that’s not a standard bp feature s it is probably added with a plugin, that plugin may need to be updated to support Nouveau.
In reply to: Adding a ‘label’ to a custom profile pageYes that sounds about right, the page is doing a loop printing out the profile fields, so you could add an if statement dependent on the field name.
if ( 'Name' == bp_get_the_profile_field_name() ) { //insert label }In reply to: Adding a ‘label’ to a custom profile pageWhat you can do is overload that pages, the source file is
plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile/edit.phpCopy this file to
themes/your-child-theme/buddypress/members/single/profile/edit.phpyou can then edit this page to insert your label where you need.
