@ Seobrien: I’m working on more then 10 themes at the same time right now, trying to bring out my first on 20 Dec. Guess most people are still finding out how buddypress hangs together rather than already making themes.
@ dwpers: Very easily, just overwrite the files you want differently and paste that in bp-default. For example, if you want to change the header, copy header.php to bp-default (out of bp-sn-parent) and the new header.php (in your bp-default) will overwrite the bp-sn-parent file. Kubricks is btw a very nice theme, it’s just overused.
In reply to: Multiple registrationI’m unsure what you mean by this, clarify yourself a bit more.
In reply to: Error Log with PHP Fatal ErrorsAll these errors are saying that they can’t find certain files, maybe because you installed it on a subdomain, rather than a subfolder or root?
Also, disable all your other plugins and your custom theme and see if the problem still exists (don’t think it has anything to do with your current problem, but it’s always best to check).
In reply to: BP could handle a huge number of members? You could always try the multi-db plugin from wpmu-dev, when the time comes.
In reply to: Help out with bbPress / Forum-softwareWell I was trying not to point any fingers, but yes, vBulletin, phpBB and all the other bigger forum softwares out there. “Your doing it wrong.”
In reply to: Help out with bbPress / Forum-softwareOnly extra that buddypress needs now is an easier wordpress intergration, bbPress already has all the core functions of a good forum software, if you need more, write a plugin.
I’d rather not have bbPress get bloated like one of the other huge forum softwares out there.
In reply to: Spam eggs chips and spam.In reply to: Selective content on site wide activity feedAndy, when will you build in exclude instead of include, if your planning that at all..?
In reply to: WordPressIsn’t the only big difference between wpmu and wp, the blogs? If you can cramp those in a single table, I wouldn’t see why it’s impossible to run buddypress on a single wp.
In reply to: dutchmall.nl@ Bowe: Normally this is correct, but wordpress makes an exception. Only if you want your theme/plugin in the plugin or theme repository over at wordpress.org, you have to have GPL on it. If you want to place your own copyright or copyleft on it, your allowed to do so. I can’t find a page on wordpress clarifying this in detail, since they don’t like you using any other license.
I do have a statement on the forum that verifies this (second post).
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/260431
Btw, contacted the fellows over at wpmu-dev, they’re 100% GPL, so you could even freely give away their plugins/themes if you wanted to. But I don’t think they’d be giving updates anytime soon if their plugins/themes would be handed out for free.
There are no tutorials about this and no one is working on one either, as far as I know. Changing a normal wordpress theme to a buddypress theme isn’t that hard, since after all wordpress is still the core, but you need a lot of extra template tags and styling in order for this to work properly.
In reply to: dutchmall.nl“Any licensee who adheres to the terms and conditions is given permission to modify the work, as well as to copy and redistribute the work or any derivative version.”
So if they are using GPL, you’ll be allowed to use their works in any way you want.
I sent them a mail asking what license they use.
In reply to: Editing Members Widget and Groups Widget backgroundCheck line 782, and people really shouldn’t be asking these questions, either you know how to make themes or you dont. We can’t help everyone that can’t find a css line..
Use firebug to find certain styles people..
@ Anointed: That has more to do with buddypress than bbpress, and why would you want a bbpress install for every group? That would only cludder the database even more.
In reply to: Remote Login Wizardry AssistanceWhat versions are you using? When I hovered over your signup I saw that you still use wp-signup.php rather than the buddypress /register. Also tried using /register on your site, but that gives a blog post..
Also, your links redirect to your other site (siliconangle.net), so I can see that when you login to siliconangle, your not logged in to rizzn.com..
In reply to: About BP for WP single userIf you really need a social network on wordpress stand alone, try the plugin “mingle”, it isn’t as advanced as buddypress, but it has the basics.
@ DJPaul: Not really farmiliar with trac, but I’ll see what I can do.

Looks like a nice design, and a great way to show what you can do with buddypress by extending it with some other software.

I believe you can make a login form outside of wordpress, just direct the action to the wordpress login page. And make the method post. You can even use this to redirect to the page your on right now.
<input type="hidden" name="redirect_to" value="<?php echo $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; ?>"/>@ Nexia: Ran into that problem before as well, just need to build in an extra check so that people can’t use the name of a user as the name of a blog.
Personally i’d prefer if that option gets taken out completely and it just becomes domain.ext/admin/blog.
Place “define ( ‘BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES’, true );” this in your wp-config.php, without the quotations offcourse.
In reply to: Date for next update?I do hope you both mean buddypress 1.1.3, going back in time is really bad..
Steps for bugs.
1. Make sure you run the latest stable versions (wpmu/buddypress).
2. See if problem is already fixed in trac or in the forums.
3. If everything else fails, make a ticket on the trac and wait.
If no one else got this problem, it most likely means that there’s something different in your install.
In reply to: Make your own custom BuddyPress pageIs it possible to use this for making an extra profile page? For example, “…/members/admin/profile/newpage/”.
Already working on two plugin which will enable buddypress/wpmu to take data from the bbpress table’s and vice versa.
I personally like the idea that all automattic software can be used as one (like modules), but at the same time, if you just need bbpress, that you can use it without wordpress.
In reply to: Date for next update?@ madloki: You mean this? https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/1200
In reply to: Navbar issuesYou can do that with css, use min-width. This will make sure that the container will not shrink after it reached a point that you define (example: #wrapper { min-width: 200px; }).
