It would help if you would list all the plugins you are using. You really should bulk deactivate all of them except BuddyPress and re-activate each one individually and test registration against each one until you find the plugin that is causing your issue, and if that is not the problem you need to check your servers error logs.

I will try to do this plugin within my spare time without any guarantee of delivery time so it really depends on if I have the spare time and inspiration so unless another developer wants to overtake this project then you will have to be patient because it won’t be an overnight project at least for me right now.

You really need to be more clear in what you hope to achieve. If you have WordPress installed and have also installed and activated BuddyPress then there is already a connection with MySQL and the BP tables are already created.

I am fairly certain you could fork that plugin if you wanted with some of the additions you made as well as others being that it is GPL and adding the support for BP etc. and adding it to the repository but you should give the original authors credit as well as any contributor.
