In reply to: Upload files into GroupsHi,
you have some plugins who can do that.
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-docs/ – for the whole site
http://lenasterg.wordpress.com/2012/04/17/buddypress-group-documents-for-bp-1-5-and-wp-3-3/ – group by group
(was initially created by Peter Anselmo and now adapted to work with BP 1.5.5+ )
In reply to: [Resolved] Where is the BP Group Documents Plugin?Peter Anselmo’s plugin rewieved fo BP 1.5.6 + can be found here:http://lenasterg.wordpress.com/2012/04/17/buddypress-group-documents-for-bp-1-5-and-wp-3-3/
Works well on bp 1.6.1 and http://bp-fr.net
Note that bp-group-documents and buddypress-docs are two different plugins.
You wanted to add 20 images 5 days ago. And now 60 ! 😀 Fortunately, WP 3.4.1 allows batch upload to his media library, and the plugin also.
But to use it you have to select the batch option on the avatar upload page. Click the link in the text above the upload box “use the new upload tool” or something like this (my WP is in french sorry) You can do the same from within the media library upload if you want (batch url is your-site/wp-admin/media-new.php#)
On click a drag’n’drop zone appears. Now you can batch upload ! The rest of the process is unchanged, especially you will have to asign each image one by one to the plugin by clicking on “insert into post” and to save this for each.

From now on the WP plugin repository

PS: @djpaul, idea becames realityhello,
i would try to mix a part of the post-avatar plugin and a bit of code as explained here:
http://hungred.com/how-to/customize-wordpress-avatar-filter-hook/
or perhaps tweaking this plugin:

A problem which I foresee in the future is keeping Bebop up to date. The main concern here is when updated API’s are released. For example, the Twitter API’s have just been updated, and the Twitter API Bebop currently uses will be depreciated within the next 6 months. While we will be able to update API’s up until the project ends in the middle of October, it will be a little more difficult to keep Bebop up to date once the project ends.In reply to: How to edit group word from toolbarHi,
you changed the wrong file. Never modify a core file when what you need is on the public side ! This means a template of the theme you’re using.
i said “you can search a term in the pot file”, not you must modify the pot file. This file is necessary for translation purpose and has no activity on your site. With a pot file you can generate a po file, and by saving it, you create the compiled mo file. PHP use this mo file at least. How it works ?
– searching a word: xxx.pot file
– translating/modifying a word: xxx.po file (no T in the extension)
– saving the po file within a po editor sofware like poEdit
– saving the po file will generate a compiled format called .mo file witch must be uploaded on your server via FTPIn your case, the word “groups” you want to modify is used in these files. You will find this piece of code in your po file.

Please read here first:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-privacy/forum/topic/is-this-plugins-is-worked-for-version-1-5-1/The plugin translation had to be in the plugin languages folder
Ola !
You have 2 translation when running BP. One for WP and one for BP
And many plugins using their own mo file. In this case, the translation is in a “lang” or “languages” folder delivered with the plugin. The wp translation is called es_ES.mo and is in wp-content/languages/es_ES.mo
The BP mo had to be in this same directory wp-content/languages/buddpress-es_ES.moYou have also to declare your site language in wp-config.php (define(‘WP_LANG’,’es_ES’) and you have to set this, if not already done, in WP’s settings.
If all this is correctly made, all WP/BP strings should be in spanish. If despite correct settings, you have strings in english, it’s probably because you’re using a theme or a plugin with uninternationalized strings.
The template pack has nothing to do with your problem. bp-template-pack is a kind of guide to help you modify/upset non BP compatible themes. The plugin doesn’t need to be in spanish.
To find exactly where your untranslatable strings are, i suggest you to open buddypress/bp-languages/buddypress.pot and look above the word in english, the file name where the word is used. So simple as that !

EDIT: the concerned file is bp-themes/bp-default/members/single/settings/delete-account.php
If you use a custom theme for your install, you have to use the same path:
your_theme/members/single/settings/delete-account.phpIn this file, you must have this line 54:
``
In reply to: How to edit group word from toolbarhello,
in such situation you have to read the codex:
https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/
https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/changing-internal-configuration-settings/If you need to locate a word within BP, you can use the search function of Notepad++ or you can opening the bp-languages/buddypress.pot file. There you can see the word and the name of the file(s) containing it, included the line #.
What else ?
In reply to: [Resolved] How do I get the BuddyBar back?@karmatosed It’s return_false !
add_filter( ‘bp_use_wp_admin_bar’, ‘__return_false’ );`
Have you declared “testing” as a child-theme from within style.css ?
If you simply renamed bp-default when throwing it into the wp-content/themes/ folder, it is normal that you have a bad issue, because you’re using the same theme twice.bp-default theme folder has to be in the buddypress/bp-themes/ directory.

😀
In reply to: BP.org – Us vs Them@FIQ, i believe i understand what you’re saying here and on other treads in the past days, but i’m affraid you use the wrong maner.
“The hostility expressed just underlines my point.” sounds like victimization of yours, a kind of moral harassment against the BP users simply coming here for help or questions.Rome wasn’t buit in one day. Learning how to use BP needs time, try outs and heavy headaches in some situation. And similar to other situations in the real life, you can’t go faster as the lowest BP user.
“My point” is your’s. Everybody here has his own point of view i guess.

If you want to help on this forum, write answers.
If you want to express your personal opinion, write on your own blog or elsewhere you want.
If you haven’t the time or the skills to do so, read only.So what happens to you appened also to other i guess
– discovering buddypress
– learning the software
– enjoying it
– becaming familiar
– viewing the dark side
– burning down the idol (your actual statement ?)
– taking back
– viewing global
– acting localSo please, calm down, you’re not alone.
In reply to: Spam on activity in buddypressHi,
