In reply to: Displaying members favorite activitiesThere is already a my favorites tab in BuddyPress menu. Don’t know what you’re trying to do, but here is a code example you can try(or study).
Add it to your child-theme functions.php or bp-cutom.php
function my_test_setup_nav() { global $bp; $parent_slug = 'test'; $child_slug = 'test_sub'; //name, slug, screen, position, default subnav bp_core_new_nav_item( array( 'name' => __( 'Company Labs' ), 'slug' => $parent_slug, 'screen_function' => 'my_test_page_function_to_show_screen', 'position' => 40, 'default_subnav_slug' => $child_slug ) ); //Add the subnav items to the profile/ // name, slug, parent_url, parent slug, screen function // Tab bp_core_new_subnav_item( array( 'name' => __( 'Company Favs' ), 'slug' => $child_slug, 'parent_url' => $bp->loggedin_user->domain . $parent_slug.'/', 'parent_slug' => $parent_slug, 'screen_function' => 'my_test_page_function_to_show_screen' ) ); } // tab function my_test_page_function_to_show_screen() { //add title and content here – last is to call the members plugin.php template add_action( 'bp_template_title', 'my_test_page_function_to_show_screen_title' ); add_action( 'bp_template_content', 'my_test_page_function_to_show_screen_content' ); bp_core_load_template( apply_filters( 'bp_core_template_plugin', 'members/single/plugins' ) ); } function my_test_page_function_to_show_screen_title() { echo 'Taskforce Titled'; } function my_test_page_function_to_show_screen_content() { echo 'Taskforce content'; do_action( my_test_post); } add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'my_test_setup_nav' ); function my_test_fav_custom_content() { ?> <h3>Hello Company !</h3> <p>Lorem ipsum de facto est</p> <?php } add_action( 'my_test_post', 'my_test_fav_custom_content' );In reply to: Displaying members favorite activitiesTopic moved to Creating & Extending forum

As site admin you can do anything.
There is normaly an Edit button on the Toolbar. When logged as admin and you’re on a profile, hover this button to show an edit profile photo item.
In reply to: How to switch user types in registrationIf you can wait for BP 2.2, the new Member Type API which will be introduced will probably allow such kind of customization.
Note to myself: always remember information found on the dev blog 😉
In reply to: How to switch user types in registrationgive this a try.
BuddyPress User Account Type Lite, an outdated plugin who existed as PRO version, is now avaible for free. And works with 4.0.1 and BP 2.1.1
User Manual:
http://wpbpshop.com/wpbpshop-manuals/buddypress-user-account-type-pro.htmlThe code was uploaded 2 mounth ago on github.
https://github.com/RimonHabib/BuddyPress-User-Account-TypeIf you use php 5.4, you may see some warnings, but easy to repair.
In reply to: [Resolved] MembermouseThank you for sharing @zorro1965.

The order of %1$s and %2$s is not important.
If you code directly your language into the string, you can write as usual RTL and place %2$s first write something, add %1$s and write another thing…
That said, and if you are using a RTL language like hebrew (as i suppose), you may have some special characters which are (perhaps) not recognized by gettext. And in this case you have to use unicode, in other words, HTML letters.
The orignal
created a new Projectis translated toיצר פרויקט חדש
But i don’t know much about hebrew (or persian or arabic) characters.
Search from here how to get rid of this:
https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
or see here:
http://www.i18nguy.com/unicode/hebrew.htmlAnd apologize if you use another RTL language.
In reply to: Translating the custom posts activityHi,
it is a custom string, you will not find it in the po file. So you can translate it directly in the function.
'%1$s created a new Project, %2$s''%1$s your translation, %2$s',where first variable is the username and the second the project nameYou could also do differently and add this custom string to your po file, but in this case, you have to take care that your translation is not overiden by the next language update.
In reply to: [Resolved] Manage Signups permissions errorHave you correctly setup the permalinks ? (anything but default)
Did you used the BP repair tool ?
Are all required BP component pages existing ?Don’t know what the r.php file is and which service or plugin use it. See here if it can help you to debug: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23118737/php-file-not-found
In reply to: Buddy Press Increasing Fileshi @thammavongsam,
Can you give details about
Because whenever we are posing anything its Creating a duplicate file
Which type of posting (blog post, status,….) ?
Which file is growing ? In a CMS like wordPress, nothing is added to files but only to DB 🙄In reply to: [Resolved] MembermouseIf you’re in a testing phase, this URL issue should be a blocker/negative point and a good reason, at least, to test another solution. (MyCred plugin is one if you’re cibling paid membership).
I won’t spend time to solve this at your place. If you followed exactly the plugin install recomendation, with finally the described issue out of the box, 2 solutions: it is intended like this or you did something wrong.
But it is a premium plugin, (ok, with 30 days free trial period). Don’t expect much help from the BP community. You have to ask the plugin support if you absolutely want to use that plugin.
Anyway, thank you for your experience sharing. 😉
In reply to: [Resolved] Matching status updates with categoriesForgot to mention that this can be made with CPT as soon as BP 2.2 is out.
In reply to: [Resolved] Matching status updates with categoriesIf you’re comfortable with coding, you can try what described here. Be aware that it’s an old topic with possible changes to work with BP 2.1.1

In reply to: Profile Field Must be UniqueBP use only Name (aka nickname) and the WP registration process.
Unique name possible ? Not really
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2036https://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Registration_Form
In reply to: Profile Field Must be UniqueOnly if i didn’t understand your question, you do nothing ! This is default behaviour.
Example: you create a field called City.
3 users answered New York. And everything is going well.
If a user click on New York on one of these profiles, BP will show him the 3 members who answered New York.
In reply to: [Resolved] Add forum option in "Post in" in activityMost users goes to what seems them the easiest.
3 solutions:
– remove the What’s new form
– add a message above or below the form
– use a giant FORUM button ! 😉You can use this snippet to show them a message (add it to your child-theme functions.php or to bp-custom.php
function bpfr_post_in_msg() { echo 'your message to users goes here'; } add_action( 'bp_before_activity_post_form', 'bpfr_post_in_msg' ); // above what's new form add_action( 'bp_after_activity_post_form', 'bpfr_post_in_msg' ); // below what's new formTo remove the form, use an empty post-form.php containing only the opening & closin php tags
and add it to /child-theme/activity/post-form.phpThe original file is in bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/activity/post-form.php
In reply to: Buddypress emails not workingSorry for the link. It’s repaired. The plugin is Buddypress Notifications Manager
