Please check – are you sure you are running PHP5? Is it on your own server or on your host?
I do not believe you should be getting this error on PHP5.
In reply to: Core Modifications + BP Upgrades…Well, it really depends on *what* core mods you’ve made, exactly. Without knowing what you might have done it is impossible to comment on.
As a rule of thumb, though, you can make a lot of changes without needing to modify the core files. If you’ve made a “few” already, maybe you could revisit them and see if there is a better way of reimplementing those changes.
What timezone is the actual *server* running on? There was a problem with this a few months back, not sure if it was resolved.
In reply to: Tables not created on reinstallationHave a look in your sitemeta table. There are some buddypress records you need to remove.
In reply to: After connection, its only redirectingThat might be the problem. You need to get WPMU working before worrying about BuddyPress.
Looking at the URL, it thinks you are trying to register a new hosted blog at “http://waapsols.com/”.
When you installed WPMU, in the installation screen it asks you for a server name to use. What did you enter? I am guessing you entered your server’s IP address?
If that’s the case, delete .htaccess and wp-config.php and drop the database, and try reinstalling, but enter “waapsols.com” during the installation.
I deactivated the BP-plugin. Problem remains. So it’s probably an issue with WordPress MU and the P2-theme?!
?
You have said that the problem occurs on WPMU, and that it does not occur on regular WP. You have also said this problem is not caused by BuddyPress.
I haven’t got an install of regular WP to test this on, so I am going to assume it is either a WPMU issue *or* you are using an old version of the P2 theme.
In reply to: External BlogsYou can view the roadmap at https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap and find for yourself. As Jeff Sayre posted a couple of months back, if you have a question for Nicola, send him a message on this site.
This post would be two or three months old and out-of-date if it hadn’t kept being bumped by people asking “is it out yet?”. I am tempted to close this thread.
Try removing or disabling BuddyPress. Does this problem still occur on WordPress MU?
In reply to: Update statusYeah, he could, but, if in using the trunk it causes a small country to explode, I’m not taking responsibility
In reply to: HELP I CAN’T POST! – READMEFYI this problem is still not properly fixed.
In reply to: Update statusThat’s a new feature coming in the next release of BuddyPress, which I believe to be coming in a couple of weeks.
In reply to: Public blog not visible on siteWell, it sounds like you’ve found a bug. Hopefully someone running a trunk install can test this to see if it has been fixed or not yet.
In reply to: Using buddypress Dashboard instead of WP’smarking this as resolved
In reply to: Using buddypress Dashboard instead of WP’sThere isn’t. The Dashboard on this site is a custom page, and is nothing to do with the WordPress admin backend.
In reply to: User pointsIn reply to: About blog domainsAaand, I’m closing this thread in case things turn nasty.
In reply to: how to create group’slug when make new groupThe group slug is generated from the group title. Your question is unclear – do you want to be able to manually set the group slug to something different?
In reply to: Translation to another language? If you translate the default theme, that’s all you do – you don’t have to change any of the images *unless you want to*. Good luck!
That’s what an array in the database looks like. Wrap that in a call to maybe_unseralize().
In reply to: Rhetorical question about formatting urls…http://buddypress.pastebin.com/f6116b6e2
Just realised that it may not be a good idea using the array_shifts at the end, in case the array only contains one element. C’est la vie!
Erm, it’s working on my hosted blogs. No immediate ideas. Have you changed/upgraded the themes the member blog(s) have used?
In reply to: is it possible to change the menus into drop down?I’m saying it’s possible. Who knows what will happen.
In reply to: add_submenu_page & __FILE__ problemThis might be because it looks as if your wpmu install is *not* on the domain root; I believe you are asking for trouble trying to use wpmu in this way.
Also, it might be in part because it looks like you are using “pretty permalinks”. Try turning those off.
In reply to: filter content for all site (e.g. by country)I don’t think this is easy and it would require serious work and hacking. I can’t even think of a way of doing this off the top of my head.
Maybe instead you could use a Group for each subdomain that you were going to use, and use the “group blog” plugin (search forums).
