Ye cannot share cookies across domains. The only way would involve a redirect from one domain to the other, and back again, when you log in. I’m going to close this thread as it’s a request for work and anyone interested can contact you through this site.
In reply to: Error in multi-DB conf.I’m not aware of anyone running BuddyPress in a multi-DB config.
In reply to: How to have friends Activity on profile pageI’ve marked this thread as resolved
In reply to: Buddypress Member themeIf you can dig up a post from Andy Peatling about this, we could add it to the FAQ thread and/or make a sticky.
In reply to: Getting Rss ErrorGoing to mark this as resolved because we’ve got at least one useful link for others to find.
In reply to: wire postThe post box is just a HTML form. Without looking I suppose it’s remotely possibly you might be able to call the add wire message function via AJAX or XMLRPC methods, but in your situation it’s almost certainly going to be easier writing your own DB call.
In reply to: Buddypress Member themeShortly after pigs start to fly. It’s not going to look like the member theme on this site, as Andy Peatling has developed this one specifically to brand buddypress.org and doesn’t want every default BP installation to look like it.
This question seems to be asked at least once a week.
In reply to: Creates Blog, Only Shows Server Default PageOh, don’t worry – it’s not as if we keep a list of “those guys”
In reply to: get_blog_option(): Fatal errorSounds like you’re not using WPMU?
In reply to: change urlYep, the CSS matches the default names of the slugs. You need to enter custom CSS to get the icons back. If I get time when I’m back in from work, I’ll post what you need here.
In reply to: How to have friends Activity on profile pageIs this something we could ticket as an enhancemnt patch? Can’t see why we shouldn’t be able to use this function like this.
In reply to: Creates Blog, Only Shows Server Default PageLooks like you need your host to enable wildcard subdomains on your URL.
You can check to see if a friendship exists with:
function friends_check_friendship( $user_id, $possible_friend_id )
In reply to: Social experiment..need helpThis, I think, is a request for a theme developer to come and make you a theme. I’m going to close this thread as this forum is for support and discussion around BuddyPress, and not a place where people should submit job adverts (voluntary or not).
People can see what you’ve written here and can contact you directly if they are interested. I suggest that you also post on the BuddyPress job board group.
In reply to: add_submenu_page & __FILE__ problem__FILE__ gives the path like you are getting (see this documentation. I suggest just giving it the name of your plugin. Here’s what I use, for example:
add_submenu_page( 'bp-core.php', __( 'Achievements', 'dp-achievements' ),
__( 'Achievements', 'dp-achievements' ), 1, 'dp-achievements', 'dpa_admin' );And I get a link that looks like http://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=dp-achievements.
In reply to: buddypress + WordPress MU Domain MappingHmm, that’s strange. I can log in on my mapped domain OK. (just tested and it worked)
In reply to: buddypress + WordPress MU Domain MappingFirst of all, this is not to do with working with BuddyPress – if you just run WPMU, you’ll find exactly the same thing happens. WPMU Domain Mapping works fine, as I use it on my site.
The “problem” is that your web browser remembers that you are logged in because of cookies. Cookies can only be read/written by pages on the same domain, therefore an authentication cookie on domain1.com can’t be read on domain2.com.
In reply to: about bp_core_add_messageNothing built in. You’d have to use an AJAX function to achieve this; look at bp_core_render_notice() as a starting point.
In reply to: Welcome Pack plugin white screen*memory, not member.
In reply to: problem with ie6 and rtlNot knowing how and what changes you have made, it is impossible for us to comment. Have you tried searching Google for issues with whatever techniques you are using on IE?
In reply to: Welcome Pack plugin white screenA White screen of doom usually indicates PHP parser error and most web hosts have these errors going to the log file. Another cause is that your PHP is running out of member and needs more. I can’t remember the config variable off the top my head but it has been discussed on these boards several times.
In reply to: Class ‘WP_Widget’ not foundYou need to be using WPMU 2.8.* for BP as the way widgets are written was changed.
In reply to: Welcome Pack plugin white screenAnd what is the message in your web server’s error log?
I wish I had a job writing software! You don’t want to know what I do 9 to 5, haha! el_terko is correct. Andy Peatling works for Automattic on BuddyPress. Sam Bauers develops bbPress.
The moderators on this forum are Andy and: Burt Adsit, Trent Adams, Nicola Greco, Jeff Sayre, John James Jacoby and Paul Gibbs (me!). I think we did something bad in a previous incarnation and this is punishment
. You can also check out this post for a mini-bio.
Ask on the WPMU boards; those aren’t BuddyPress tables.
