In reply to: [Resolved] buddypress.pot is OK?
dan if there’s a problem with how we generate our pot file, please can you create a trac ticket with details so we can fix it? Thanks.
I think you don’t need to worry about problems until you have them.
Is there any more of the error message in the server logs?
What version of PHP are you running?
And what URLs are you on that trigger the error? In reply to: Add an alt @user_nameThe short answer is that WordPress itself doesn’t consider the username to be sensitive data. Using strong passwords and using two-step authentication via a plugin are good recommendations.
In reply to: User can upload picture to any album idBuddyPress doesn’t have any album features built-in; you must be using some plugin, and you need to go and talk to its developers for support.
In reply to: buddypress 2.0.3 download needed, please helpHi!
Here you go: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/buddypress.2.0.3.zip
It’d be interesting to know what theme you found a problem with in 2.1, so we can check it out.
Correct, no hardcoded limit. WordPress will go as far as your servers will 🙂
In reply to: Conflict with my pluginThanks for creating the ticket. Looks like we should have a fix in trunk soon.
In reply to: Conflict with my pluginHi @pauldewouters, welcome to the BuddyPress forums.
Sounds like this discussion should be moved to a Trac ticket, if someone would like to do that.
I’m not familiar enough with this part of the code to know if this is a good way to fix the problem, but I know a man who does: @imath – hello. 🙂
In reply to: Forwarding MessagesHmm. I don’t think (might be wrong) that BP has ever supported forwarding in its Messages component. It sounds like something that was on the original feature list, but perhaps never implemented.
In reply to: Ning 2 > BuddyPressMost of the old Ning -> BuddyPress stuff was, I guess, for their 1.0 version; it was all written a few years ago in reaction to some change on their end. I think you’re going to have to spend a bunch of time seeing if the old importers work — if they don’t, you’ll need to write one, or fix it up.
In reply to: Daily to do listhttp://chrislema.com/cant-afford-wordpress-plugin-want/ is actually a good read around this kind of thing.
In reply to: Error in Inbox/OutboxJust to let you know that we’ve fixed this bug. The fix will be included in BuddyPress 2.1.
In reply to: Okay – £10 to whoever can think of a solutionGlad to hear it 🙂
In reply to: HHVM + BuddyPress ?AFAIK, no-one on the BuddyPress core team has tested BuddyPress extensively on HHVM. Also, we do not check our unit tests on HHVM.
Informally, I think our position is along the lines of “once HHVM is officially supported in WordPress core, we’ll officially support it in BuddyPress core.” Note that there’s a difference between “works well” and “officially supported”.
However, if people like yourself want to run BuddyPress on HHVM and report any issues to us (or help us debug and fix them), we’d love that.
In reply to: Okay – £10 to whoever can think of a solutionHard to know without poking about the server.
In reply to: How to make Authy or Google Authenticator work?AFAIK, those plugins don’t offer front-end integration with BuddyPress. You/someone will have to build that.
In reply to: [Resolved] Can’t see member profile (Not found)As you can read, some of those aren’t related to BuddyPress. What versions of BuddyPress, bbPress, and WordPress are you using?
In reply to: Okay – £10 to whoever can think of a solutionAh hah, interesting. @rossagrant:
If you go to wp-admin > Settings > General, what are the values for the “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” fields?
It looks like your site is making its “load more” request to http://www.staging.mysite.com, but the site is intended to be accessible at staging.mysite.com. Is that correct?
Do you have any plugins or unusual server config that are redirecting from www to no-www?
In reply to: Bb-config-locationYep, I know what you’re referring to. It’s a legacy option that’s only important if you’ve the Groups and Forums components enabled, and if you use bbPress 1.
Note that if you’re using the plugin version of bbPress, you’ll be on version 2.x of bbPress, and so this won’t apply to you.
In reply to: Text in fields linked – by design?I think we’ll end up adding admin options to control this kind of behaviour. Not sure if 2.1 or 2.2, but feels like soon.
The fix for this has made it into BP 2.0.1, which should be released very soon.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.0 RC1 FeedbackA fix for this has been included in BuddyPress 2.0, which is due for release today.
In reply to: Buddypress conflict with Gravity Formsadmin-ajax.php is a core WordPress file.
I’ve searched for the phrase “new-review-button” in the BuddyPress code, and it doesn’t exist in BuddyPress. Perhaps it’s introduced by some other plugin on your site, but only when BuddyPress is active? I don’t know.
What other plugins and themes are you using?
In reply to: Display ProfileAre these two sites two separate WordPress installs, or is it one install and you’re using multisite?
