Then change those permissions!
Sadly statements like this make me wary:
I really am not 100% sure.. I just was sopse to be the designer… I paid a developer back in May and he still hasnt finished it and wont contact me… (awesome!)
Christina you do not need to be adding in index.php to your permalink paths , you have a fundamental issue elsewhere and I think it lies in a how your site really is structured and a lack of understanding therein.Set your permalinks to a normal structure remove all the custom stuff. You have an apache server and unless there is something screwy with mod_rewrite or a failure to write to the .htaccess file then all should work as expected.
Can you tell us where BP is installed to, as at the moment the top level index page of that site makes no sense to me, and all your links appear as page_id=
In reply to: New plugin: Add All Nav Links to BP AdminbarClosing this thread then. Further discussions should continue in the plugin group:

In reply to: How do you edit the header file?Corrupted or exploited? Iframes are the devils work and should have been outlawed ages ago and are removed in any sane schema.
In reply to: Time on my site is off by 5 hours. That changeset is a total reworking of BP time functions as I read things and covers this later ticket which I believe was the final issue hanging around with time offsets.
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2203In reply to: New plugin: Add All Nav Links to BP Adminbar@pcwriter I’m trying to find out why the plugin group hasn’t got a forum activated, if it can be enabled I’ll close this thread off so that further discussions can continue within that group.
In reply to: New plugin: Add All Nav Links to BP AdminbarWell done, I’ll take a look later, see if there are any issues. I’m still trying to figure out the labeling issue with the wp_nav_menu.
In reply to: How to get rid of spam blogs?? There is still the same ability to mark as spam either from Super Admin -> Users or Super Admin -> Sites. Under Users you will have to use bulk actions dropdown as the buttons appear to have been removed allowing to mark as spammer.
You may need to clarify the issues you are having with the admin panel.
In reply to: EventPressGood point
In reply to: What template does this use?Exactly, but I’ve aired my views on this subject before, revisiting the API is something that requires doing at some point .
In reply to: What template does this use?I would say this is one of the issues that is frustrating for frontend developers that some ‘things’ require disproportionate effort to effect change, The view link mentioned one of those, there is a limit to the very clever string parsing filters I’m prepared to write to make a link disappear
In reply to: Fatal Error
should have seen me struggling with responding to activity updates yesterday 😆In reply to: Fatal ErrorAs an indication of why eyg1 I have gone and wasted my time responding – time is very precious!
In reply to: Fatal Errorrename the pluging or delete from the folder if it’s preventing access to the site.
In reply to: EventPressJust want to reinforce Rogers suggestion, this plugin needs to be a group really.
In reply to: EventPressTurn off PHP ‘Safe Mode’
Sounds like ‘headers already sent’ error. check your closing or opening PHP tags there mustn’t be a carriage return after you close php, no extra lines added that qualify as browser output .
In reply to: New install just gets 404 errorsEnsure that you can write to / have a .htaccess file. Navigate to the WP permalinks section of the dashboard and ensure you have selected one of the options and saved, what, if any, messages do you get after saving? if none are the links now working?
In reply to: wpmudev plugins just don’t seem to work?It is! I bite my tongue on this whole issue as my opinions should not be aired publicly

Ditto what roger says. Adding the index.php path part into the url is only something I’ve seen in reference to the ‘Almost Pretty Permalinks’ There is no reason to want this really; it certainly will not aid search engines.
If you must do this have you tried writing a custom permalink structure? never tried this myself as never seen the need, with the prebuilt options available.
In reply to: After installation my control panel turns to blankLikely insufficient PHP script memory, php.ini needs to have the script mem limit increased; but you have provided insufficient information for a more meaningful response, it could be due to other reasons.
‘Home’ or ‘Index’ are two very accepted conventions in web sites denoting as they do the domain site root or initial main page, I doubt you will gain much in SEO terms from changing them, often there is too much emphasis placed on suppossed SEO enhancements.
However if you must di it
then read through this page for a better understanding oof the approaches you could take:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/But yes you could change the string as seen in the main header.php nav
In reply to: Clear message to all users
thanks pcwriter that was a lot clearer than my explanation however I thought, regardless, it was something that perhaps was apparent from detailed study of all links/screens, can’t give too many clues
@christinarule pursuant to my other comments on your other threads you really need to start a new topic if you have an issue, and you will need to be a whole! lot more descriptive of the problem; telling us you need help is a ‘Given’ telling us something ‘Sucks’ not at all helpful it may well do but if you want it sorted out tell us exactly why it sucks!
My comments are for your benefit following them will get you the help you require not doing so and your posts will probably be passed over, it’s a busy tech forum and certain procedures need to be followed if needing the help of people here.
In reply to: Two questions about the login process@damainman this is an oldish thread and unlikely to provoke a response. did you have an issue/problem? If so them post a new topic as it will get a better response, having first searched the site as this particular issue may well have been covered more recently.
