You can watch the development of this on testbp.org. Something has started brewing like this on the main site feed already.
In reply to: Who’s Online not workingAny kind of integration between WPMU and bbPress? Do you have a URL to your site that I can see?
In reply to: Commenting redirects to first post — problemWhich theme are you using? First guess would be that the theme is missing the div ID that WordPress looks for to redirect it to, but that’s a shot in the dark that I haven’t looked into yet.
My first guess is that this would have to be an issue with your server then? Do you have access to the error logs to check and see if the server is triggering any error responses?
In reply to: 500 Error after uploading BuddyPress 1.0.2Who is your web host? My next guess is this is an out-of-memory situation. Others have encountered this with hosts like 1and1 and GoDaddy, and have fixed it by increasing the amount of memory available in their php.ini files.
Do a search through the forums and see if you can find anything relevant that helps out. If not report back.
In reply to: Removing Userbar LoginI guess the easiest way to do this, would be to edit the userbar.php file in your active member theme, and replace everything between…
<?php else : ?>and…
<?php endif ?>Remember that commenting out the HTML doesn’t stop the PHP from getting processed, so all of the “_e”‘s are getting echo’ed even though you commented out the HTML.
Strange that BP would cause this issue, and I haven’t heard of anyone having it yet myself.
Also haven’t heard of email confirmation not getting sent either. I would lean towards this being a WPMU issue, or maybe there’s another plugin in the way?
Do you have any other plugins installed?
In reply to: TestNot dead yet.
If nothing else, a plugin could be made to force update the old blogs which would bypass the issue entirely. That same logic can be applied to the core also to prevent any other plugins from running into the same hiccup.
In reply to: Will BuddyPress work with Multi-Site Manager PluginTopic reopened per plugin developer.
Let’s keep it on point people.
In reply to: 500 Error after uploading BuddyPress 1.0.2Possible that the themes are missing or deactivated somehow. Are you able to access the admin area? If so, can you make sure you have a member theme active and in the correct location? Same with your home theme?
In reply to: How can I display all the tags in one pag or widget?I am fairly confident there is a site wide tags plugin for MU that allows this.
Search the wordpress.org plugin area for “site wide tags” and see what you get.
(Normally I’d give a better answer but I’m posting from my BlackBerry.)
In reply to: upgrading to BP1.0.2I would imagine you’d be best to take the plugins out of mu-plugins and put them in a new folder called “temp”, upgrade BP, and then replace the files back into mu-plugins.
The reason why this is necessary (for now) is because plugins that depend on BuddyPress being active do not have a dedicated way to check for its existence, and will die when BP isn’t there.
This will be addressed in future versions.
In reply to: Forums installation issuesWhen bbPress goes 1.0, all will be well.
In reply to: BuddyPress theme for bbPressGood job
Any chance you have some kind of site-wide category plugin installed? If not, it sounds like something is corrupt in your “Default Category” setting, in which case going to the admin side and changing the default posting category to something else, and then changing it back to whatever you want should reset it without you needing to dive into phpMyAdmin.
BEFORE you do that though, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to take a look at phpMyAdmin and see what “Default Category” is set to?
If it’s happening on every blog, with every post, then something is getting loaded that shouldn’t be.
In reply to: How do I add a new Blog with buddypress themeI’m afraid I don’t totally understand the question, and I don’t want to throw guesses at you.
Can you clarify?
In reply to: Using classesAnd so begins a young padiwan learner into the world of plugin creation.

The best instruction I can give you, would be to stare at the existing core components, and other plugins that are out there currently. Stare at it long and hard. Eventually, you will see the light. Haha!
For real though, if you’re not used to this type of event driven development, it can be really loopy and confusing at first. The best thing to do is watch it in action by looking at how other people have done what you’re trying to do, then take what works, delete what doesn’t, and fill in the blanks. There is no quick lesson anyone can give on how exactly to do this, as different types of plugins will require different depths of classification and development.
In reply to: bbpress, 2 quick questions…Marked as resolved.
In reply to: Xprofile Privacy pluginReally good temporary solution for those that don’t mind modifying the core a little bit. Good job.
In reply to: BuddyPress plugins and theme not loadingUsually the current stable is probably best? I tried for a few hours to integrate bbPress 1.0 trunk last night and something appeared broken in it (could be my brain that’s broken too.)
The issues you describe are pretty strange, and new ones compared to most. When re-installing, do me a favor and delete your cookies for your site also; lets make this as clean of an installation as possible.
In reply to: Errors after trying to move filesZenimot, if this is installed on WPMU, how did you managae to get www. in front of the URL? Curious if maybe this is part of the problem?
In reply to: Starting Buddypress/WordPress MU siteI was able to navigate to /register and the rest of the BuddyPress links just fine. Looks like you got this figured out?
In reply to: bbpress, 2 quick questions…mikem1986, you will want to modify the header.php in your bbPress themes directory to get rid of the logo, and the header.php file in your wp-content/themes/bphome directory if you are using the included BuddyPress Home Theme.
In reply to: Avatar image problem – other fixes don’t workCheck all of your blogs.dir, 1, and uploads directory’s permissions, and see if any plugin you’ve installed previously has locked down any of them with .htaccess or .htpasswd files or modifications.
I’ve seen a few plugins (caching, or roles/capability/permissions) put strange rights on those directories, that allow the uploading of the initial image, do not allow the cropped images to get saved, and then disallow the website from accessing any image in those directories.
Physically go through each directory and manually assign the permissions yourself. Then also look for the existance of .htaccess or .htpasswd files in your wp-content/blogs.dir directory, and delete them if they exist.
