You’re already the Super Admin.
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress Pages not working as expected@lottiejam Yes, it’s a permalink issue. Adding index.php in permalink is not an option to use with BuddyPress as you can see. mod_rewrite or equivalent should be enabled in your server, contact webhost for assistance in setting it up
You’re welcome. Marking this as resolved
In reply to: [resolved] Failed During WizzardWP/BP versions? Change theme to WP default twenty eleven or the BP Default theme
@robreg what theme are you using? Did you check at bottom of the page you looked at where we have “template-packed” a number of WP themes https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/#template-packed-wordpress-themes
If your WP theme is not listed there, open up your theme’s header.php file, copy all, paste in pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated URL here. Do the same for your theme’s page.php, index.php, sidebar.php and footer.php file. I need to see the whole picture.
In reply to: Where to look to fix duplicating post@charlietech you have posted about this same issue in a previous post. If I recall well, the issue is either with Suffusion or the Suffusion BP template pack. Did you not contact the theme/plugin author about this issue?
In reply to: Post sticky in all group forums with one topic@raphadko aas r-a-y mentioned above, it would require custom development.
Simplest way to add a notice is to create a function where you can add/revise the announcement/s and hook it into `do_action( ‘bp_before_group_forum_content’ );`
OR
copy over https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.6.1/bp-themes/bp-default/groups/single/forum.php into your theme folder wp-content/themes/yourthemefolder/groups/single/forum.php and add/style announcement on line 2 or line 4 of that file. It will show up in all group forums but won’t show up in Forums Directory list of topics.In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress Pages not working as expected@lottiejam you have to provide more information
WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? Site URL?In reply to: Member Profile Not Displaying Correctly@cspinillo looks like you don’t have BuddyPress activated anymore.
As to your issue, read how to make your Chameleon theme compatible with BP https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/buddypress-compatibility-and-chameleon-theme-elegant-themes/
In reply to: BuddyPress TagsThere was a plugin for BP 1.5.1 https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-activity-stream-hashtags/ Not tested if it works for BP 1.6.1
In reply to: [resolved] Cannot post new activityCould be a theme issue. Have you tried changing to bp-default theme and posting update?
Then you have to create the blog yourself and only add the new user and remove yourself as admin after you’ve seen that a link to your site has been added to their site.
Or, you’ve have to create a script/plugin (or hire a developer to do so) that “phones home” to your site to confirm that the member has added a link to your site and that will trigger allowing the member to create a new blog in your site.
In reply to: PLEASE HELP bp default is duplicating postWhen you deactivated suffusion, did you also deactivate suffusion/buddypress pack plugin?
Re “Duplicate Posts” while using bp-default theme — are you referring to Status Updates in activity stream? If so, deactivate any plugin you’ve added which posts media or other info in activity stream

As far as I can gather, if you cannot access wp-admin after activing BuddyPress, rename your plugins folder in server to e.g. wp-content/plugins-xxx Then after you get into wp-admin, rename plugins-xxx back to wp-content/pluginsIn reply to: [Resolved] Activity issueIn reply to: Making Forum page full screenJust add the following to your theme’s style.css or custom.css file
`li.bbp-forum-info,
li.bbp-topic-title {
width: 50% !important;
}`You’re welcome. Thanks for posting what the plugin conflict was.
Marking this as resolved.Good for you. Good luck. Curious which plugin caused the lock-out.
The simpler, the better
You’re welcome.rename buddypress folder back to normal in wp-content…
then just rename the plugins folder to e.g. wp-content/plugins-xxx and that will take care of all the plugins. then after you get in wp-admin, rename the plugins folder back to normal.
activate buddypress, activate bp-default theme first, then activate the plugins one by one.
rename BuddyPress plugin folder to e.g. wp-content/plugins/buddypress-xxx
In reply to: Missing Activation code@nealw Curious, does the same email activation issue come up if you change to BP Default theme and activate bbPress plugin?
In reply to: Group Avatar@scottlund Only Group Admins and Site/Super Admins can upload Group avatars
@fonemi Have not encountered this before but I would go first with removing the “buddypress” tag from your theme’s style.css file. Which WP theme are you using with the BP template pack plugin?
@peaceloveanarchy Rename Custom Community theme folder in server to e.g. wp-content/themes/custom-community-xxx via ftp/filemanager/etc. then go to wp-admin
