You would have to be more specific – site URL would help us help you.
In reply to: buddypress for non-bloggers, take 2?All that can be done with current WP/BP versions. If you’re new to WP/BP, you’d have to:
– do some reading https://codex.buddypress.org/home/ and
– testing on an installation already set up at http://testbp.org/ or set up your own installation and
– diving into code yourself or hiring someone to do it.As for plugins, it is good practice to install plugins which are compatible with your WP/BP version – you’d see it noted in plugin information https://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/.
In reply to: can’t activate buddypress== i go to one of my buddypress sites ==
BP version? Did you install the site in question before or after your server crash? If you deactivate BuddyPress as well, do you still have a blank page? How are your other BP sites working out?
Just surprised that you’re using tables for your layout except the BuddyPress area. Moving on, it’s all then a matter of adding styles to your BuddyPress components – floating images and lists.

http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/Looks like you have resolved your problem. Was it an .htaccess issue indeed?
In reply to: can’t activate buddypressCheck this out – https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/blank-pages/
In reply to: removing the left column of bp-social@hkcharlie bp-social theme is a premium theme and we’re not privy to the template intracacies of that theme without purchasing one. You should be able to get free support for the paid theme.
In reply to: Member Area ProblemsI was suspecting something was awry when I saw this in your page source previously with wp-content/mu-plugins/bp-core/something.js. Now all I see are blank pages. Installing BP?
In reply to: Member Area ProblemsGo to Admin Dashboard menu Plugins > plugins and you’ll the list of plugins and descriptions. Go to Buddypress and note the version number stated in description.
In reply to: Member Area Problems@kelky7 go to your plugins page e.g. http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/plugins.php and the version number will show up there. It does look like you’re using the old version of BP. Recommend that you back up your DB and server files then upgrade to 1.1, then to 1.2, 1.2.5, then to latest BP 1.2.8 version.
In reply to: [Resolved] Renaming the ”Community” tab to ”Social”@TGIwebsite if you did not create the Community page then it could be hardcoded in your theme’s header.php under main navigation. Open up header.php and search and replace community with “Social”
In reply to: [Solved]Using Mingle Forums with BuddyPressphpBB would be a different beast altogether because unlike Mingle Forums which is a WP plugin and shares userbase, you have to use a plugin which is not updated regularly to bridge WP and phpBB. If you’re using BuddyPress, better and much easier to use bundled bbPress forums.
@T3Kaos yes, I saw your response and asked some questions there.
In reply to: Creating Groups..Where To Start…Go to BuddyPress > General Settings and make sure that Groups are enabled
Then go to http://yoursite.com/groups and click on the “Create a Group” link beside the Groups directory page title.
In reply to: [Solved]Using Mingle Forums with BuddyPressSorry, I suspect only a few handful would consider using Mingle forums when bbPress is already bundled in BuddyPress. I can only suspect that URI to Mingle Forums would be “yoursite.com/forums” which conflicts with default slug and therefore URI of our bundled forums.
You could change BP forums slug to something else so your Mingle Forums URI will hopefully work, like adding the following to your wp-config.php:
`define ( ‘BP_FORUMS_SLUG’, ‘somethingelseexceptforums’ );`
If that doesn’t work, I suggest you contact the plugin dev of Mingle Forums for assistance.
In reply to: Where is the Create a Group Button?– To create a group, assuming you’re using bp-default theme and that you’ve allowed Groups in BuddyPress > General Settings, go to http://yoursite.com/groups and click on the “Create a Group” link beside the Groups Directory header.
– The bp-default theme has a log-in form in the sidebar. Then assuming you allowed registration, it will have a link to the default BP registration page.
– Before installing any plugin, WP or BP, check plugin compatibility with your current BP/WP versions. If plugin notes compatibility up to WordPress 3.0 and BP 1.2.6, then you shouldn’t be installing that plugin in a WP 3.1.3/BP 1.2.8 installation.
Please check out the BuddyPress Codex for more information

In reply to: Admin only Create a Group@hnla good to know that you’re on the case

I saw your post at the WP multisite forum, asked you to add whether the same behavior applies to blogs created by Super Admin from the backend.
In reply to: Theming User Profile / blog post page. When you copy files from bp-default into your custom BP theme, you would have to follow the directory structure as r-a-y mentioned above.
So if the file you’re copying is /bp-default/members/single/home.php then you have to copy it over to /wp-content/themes/your-custom-bp-theme/members/single/home.php – where you would have to create the /members directory and within that, the /single directory
In reply to: Member pages not foundWhen I go to youareditched.com/members I get
“To enable the member directory you must drop the “plugin-template.php and plugin-sidebar.php” files into your theme directory.”
which is something I’ve not seen before. So you have BuddyPress installed and activated; installed Hybrid theme, and then installed and activated Malleable child theme in some order or another. Next thing you need to do is install the BP Template Pack plugin which is not what I see in your page source.

https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/== When a user Create’s a Blog and follows the link from the site to their created blog they get the following error; Error establishing a database connection ==
This is not a BuddyPress issue. Deactivate all plugins including BuddyPress; change to twentyten theme and check if you as Super Admin can create a blog from the backend. If not, then you have to resolve multisite setup at WP.org forums https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
As for BP Social Theme, you should be able to get free support for your premium theme at http://buddydress.com/
EDIT- could very well be a theme issue. If you change to bp-default theme, does the same error appear?
In reply to: Separate Themes for Buddy press pages? You can keep your WordPress theme and just install the BP Template Pack plugin to make your WP theme compatible with BP. No need for a separate installation at all and worrying about sharing users.

In reply to: Existing WordPress dataSure you can create a Page Template and use that to create a new page – especially for the “blog” portion of the site. You can create category-buildings.php and that will show up with all your posts in said category.
Is BuddyPress installed in the same WP where your 84 existing posts are?
Are you using a child theme of bp-default or a WP theme with BP Template Pack?
BP/WP versions?
